And 21,000 people starved to death that day. It's too bad those extra 45000 fans couldn't actually contribute something useful to humanity.

that we are relying on someone from Ohio State to have the ability to count to 61,000, which AHAHAHA no.  I see though that they failed to mention that it was big news in Columbus last week that Urban made the AD cut prices to the game from $20 to $5 because Urban wanted to create more of an "SEC feel" at the game

... And not a single fuck was given.

Seriously, if this at all causes any kind of emotion out of you, you need to disconnect from sports for a while or something.

If it makes you feel better, the past two years they haven't won the conference nor a bowl game either. So, there's that.

To be absolutely fair, Penn State somehow drew 72,000 for their spring game, so if any team could possibly brag a little about spring attendance (but really, why would you do that?), it would be the Nittany Lions. Either way, it seems like a bit of a reach to crack wise in this case, but then I have to remember which fanbase and fan culture we're talking about here.

It seems to me that only Ohio fans make a big deal of spring practice attendance. They think we are bandwagon fans because the spring practice attendance is so low. I don't give a damn about spring practice except for lack of injuries.

I haven't been back to ESPN since they shut down the UM forums.  Direct access to TVH/Chantel used to be a great reason for going there.  Now TVH isregional and there is no pull, whatsoever, to visit the site.

Keep in mind most osu fans are named bubba and drive a pick-em-up-truck.  What else are they gong to do on a Saturday afternoon?

we have clearly entered the dead season.

there are many, many things i worry about when it comes to michigan sports.  things that are not on the list:

  • spring game attendance
  • attendance of any kind.
  • what braxton miller thinks about michigan sports attendance.
  • what braxton miller thinks about anything whatsoever.

Strictly speaking, our product has been lacking lately. Of course people want to go see a team that kicks ass. No matter where it is. Do they do it with lower values and in a shitty corrupt way? Sure. But i did not go this year because there was no value in it. Its a practice.

15,000 people at a practice? That sounds like pretty good attendance for something that everyone on the Michigan staff said was just going to be a practice the weeks leading up to it. I'm sure if there was going to be an actual game then more people would show up. I can think of a few better things to do than go to a glorified practice.

I think what they've done with the spring "game" is silly and somewhat disrespectful to fans; Miller calling out UM for it, though, seems equally silly.  How about he focuses on throwing the ball and reading defenses and UM will worry about filling its stands.

Ehh I'm fine with this. As long as he doesn't make personal attacks, I don't see why anyone should be up in arms over this. Its a rivalry, you're supposed to poke fun at each other. If it was Gardner doing this, we'd all be singing his praises for doing it.

That being said, I'm not in any way shocked their attendance is better. Frankly, they just have a much better team to watch, not to mention OSU students can actually get somewhat involved in the spring game. We're coming off a meh season with little to no momentum in our corner.

The first step to fixing a problem is admitting you have one.  Our spring game is a joke compared to many on TV, including Ohio State.  We should have a full stadium...it should be electric.  We need to make the necessary changes to make our spring game the best.  I don't want to hear all the crap excuses like weather, depth, injuries etc...If you want to do it the best, get it done.

If you dressed up a bunch of zoo animals in scarlet and gray and called it a Ohio State football event 25,000 would show up at the shoe just so they have something to talk about at the water cooler on Monday.
