Watching the MSU OL vs the PSU DL is something.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:28 PM ^
If I'm doing the math right, MSU's last 7 drives have gone for a total of -45 yards. I don't think I've ever seen a team roar past a potential Rutger, slam it in reverse, and back right into one.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:37 PM ^
Did MSU get even a single first down in the 4th quarter?
November 24th, 2023 at 10:42 PM ^
No... 5 all game, of which 1 was in the 3rd quarter and none in the 4th.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:43 PM ^
Good lord that team is atrocious.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:12 PM ^
Posting this again here, because it's that funny to me
They didn't even bother to paint the endzones ... which happens to contain part of their opponent's nickname:
Good coaches don't tend to want to go to programs run like this
November 25th, 2023 at 12:21 AM ^
Didn't the Lions play there yesterday? I doubt there was enough time to get that done.
November 25th, 2023 at 5:17 AM ^
Just hate to see it!
November 25th, 2023 at 8:23 AM ^
Iowa: 2 first downs and 57 yards in the 2nd half against Nebraska
msu: hold my beer... 1 first down and -47 yards in the second half against PSU
November 24th, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
Two thoughts about the PSU/MSU game:
1) PSU's DL against MSU's OL is basically letting an NFL team play a JV team.
2) Hilarious of Frames to run up the score here for absolutely no reason.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:34 PM ^
Yeah, why is Singleton still in the game? Does PSU not have a healthy third-string RB?
November 24th, 2023 at 10:35 PM ^
They do, it's Trey Potts, the ex-Gopher. Probably some arbitrary nonsense like trying to get both RBs 1000 yards or something.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:31 PM ^
129-3 for those counting.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:41 PM ^
Washington 41-7
Maryland 31-9
Michigan 49-0
Ohio State 38-3
Penn State 42-0
For a grand total of 201-19. This team won't be competitive for some time.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:06 PM ^
It's not quite 2016 Rutgers. But it's not NOT 2016 Rutgers.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:14 PM ^
Funnily enough, 2016 Rutgers also played Washington.
Washington 48-13.
Ohio State 58-0
Michigan 78-0
Michigan State 49-0
Penn State 39-0
That's a total score of 272-13. That Washington team made the CFP, but MSU went 3-9. So yeah, 2016 Rutgers is probably still the benchmark of suck.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:32 PM ^
This is still my benchmark:
- Ohio State 70-6
- Iowa 64-0
- Michigan 38-0
- Illinois 49-12
- Wisconsin 52-0
- Purdue 35-0
- Utah 42-0
November 25th, 2023 at 7:01 AM ^
Fair point.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:32 PM ^
I think facing Michigan St and Minnesota at home back to back have given Ohio State fans and some in the media a false sense of security about McCord
November 24th, 2023 at 10:33 PM ^
Also it was 13-0 for OSU against Minnesota at halftime and a Minnesota turnover blew the score open for Ohio State in the 2nd half.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:33 PM ^
Hopefully it's given their team and coaches a false sense of security, too.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
It has certainly given Urban Meyer a false sense of security.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:37 PM ^
I'm glad we're coming off our two toughest games and they are coming off their two easiest.
Iron sharpens iron. PSU and Maryland were not easy for different reasons and challenged different aspects or our offense and defense.
I think we will be well prepped and very sharp tomorrow an OSU may be a bit surprised by the increase in level of competition from what they've seen the past 2 weeks.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:39 PM ^
Case in point: MSU made Allar look like LSU Joe Burrow tonight. And he sucks!
November 24th, 2023 at 10:42 PM ^
Penn State fans have now convinced themselves it was all the OC, and he's actually good now.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:49 PM ^
Because offensive line play is apparently invisible to that entire campus. It would explain a lot, to be frank.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:36 PM ^
Everybody is taking care of business. No drama.
Oregon just held on 4th down, has the ball at the 50. Nothing to see here.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:06 PM ^
Oregon St looks like a team that just doesn't have the horses to hang with Oregon and also maybe realizes their coach is on the way out. Sucks for them.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:37 PM ^
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Fuck you, Sparty.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:41 PM ^
Say what you like about Iowa, I never turn their games off once I start watching.
These games tonight, not so much.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:51 PM ^
The thing with Iowa is that it's hideous but you know the pact with Satan will kick in eventually and they're going to win. It's just how it happens that drives the entertainment. Like throwing a pick to set up your own game winning pick. That shit is genius.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:45 PM ^
Spartans Won't.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:48 PM ^
The thing about the narrative that OSU has 'put it all together' late in the season...
EVERY team looks like a mistake-free offensive juggernaut when they play MSU.
Even Penn State and Allar looked great on offense against MSU.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:50 PM ^
Tom Allen is going to get fired at IU...for having a team worse than this MSU team.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:53 PM ^
I was just reading this:
I know OSU(NTOSU) is probably Mountain West bound, but would Smith leave his alma mater for the septic inferno that is Michigan State? He's a Pacific NW guy, and he would most likely have a better opportunity elsewhere after next season, if not before.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:55 PM ^
Big Ten resources are better than MWC alliance resources. Just the universe we're in. I hate it.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:04 PM ^
MSU is still a mid-tier job in a top-2 conference compared to the top of the MWC, so I get him jumping. I also assume he'll use MSU as a springboard to a better job later but I don't blame him for taking the shot.
You can win at MSU with the right mix, and unlike Tucker Smith has shown he can do that at middling teams.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:07 PM ^
He won't. It's a Four Seasons Landscaping deal and it's going to be John Lawrence Smith that shows up at the hiring press conference.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:10 PM ^
I honestly would say that any coach at a smaller team, in a smaller conference, would jump at the chance, only because it's a. A big 10 program with more money 2. The program has a larger viewing audience than many, and d. They can make the program their own and have total control, because the program is so screwed they'll worship any coach that can bring a modicum of success, and then either stay for life, or use it as a stopping point in the way to a bigger program.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:15 PM ^
Nice Home Alone reference.
November 24th, 2023 at 10:54 PM ^
Oregon is fun to watch. Not sure why you anyone would play man defense against them. The Iowa game was more exciting than PSU-MSU.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:10 PM ^
Texas had a crazy ass pick six earlier. Check out the highlight if you didn't see it live
November 24th, 2023 at 11:13 PM ^
Ducks really are good. Of the potential scenarios, I think FSU holding off Louisville and Florida and getting the three with Oregon getting Georgia is our best shot at a title.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:20 PM ^
Been eyeing that as well. Georgia can have the #1 seed in that scenario
November 24th, 2023 at 11:28 PM ^
You just know the committee would put Oregon at the 3 in that scenario.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:31 PM ^
IMO, there is no way the Washington/Oregon winner isn't #3. Possibly #2 if say Michigan beats OSU and beats Iowa in an ugly 20-0 game while Oregon or Washington beats the piss out of the other one in the Pac-12 championship game. However, #2 is doubtful.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see FSU lose one of these last two.
Let's say Oregon and Texas win out and FSU loses.
I think that leaves you with UGA, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, Washington, OSU, Louisville, FSU, Missouri.
If Washington wins out...UGA, Michigan, Washington, Texas, OSU, Oregon, Louisville, FSU, Missouri.
Beat Ohio.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:45 PM ^
If MSU hires OSU Beavers’ coach, I want MSU to put “SPARTS” on the front of their uniforms.
November 25th, 2023 at 5:50 AM ^
One misprint and that P turns into an H.
November 24th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
Oregon is a problem and I'm a Bo Nix fan. On a related note, Washington is a problem. The Pac-12 is playing friggin BALL this year
November 25th, 2023 at 5:53 AM ^
Oregon's a bad matchup because they don't have a true weakness.
Washington is a bad matchup because they have a WR group as good or better than OSU, a Heisman QB, and an explosive offense...meanwhile Michigan's biggest weakness is at CB.
Beat Ohio. Beat Iowa. Worry about this shit later.
