Who did I miss?

I think it's great playing a team full of villains - so much sweeter when we win!
November 22nd, 2023 at 10:57 AM ^
Lebron James, pseudo-Buckeye and all-time jagoff.

I don't think he ever really has truly cared about OSU. I'm sure he likes them to some degree, but he's playing the politician's game of "pandering to his base."
His name still carries a lot of weight in Ohio, 90-95% of people in Ohio love OSU, so he has to keep up appearances so as not to taint his brand. He didn't play college ball, and if he did he absolutely would've gone to a Duke, Kentucky, Kansas or UNC kind of place. I doubt his kid ever even considered OSU as a possibility for where he'd play college ball.
OSU fans roll their eyes over Michigan hitching its wagons so much to Brady, but at least Brady actually, you know, PLAYED HERE and WON HERE. I'm not taking any of this from folks who are trying to lay claim to Joe Burrow despite the fact that if Burrow had finished his career at OSU, he'd be selling auto insurance right now.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:51 AM ^
Well I think he IS one of those 90-95 percent of people in Ohio who love the Buckeyes. He knew he wan't going to college by the time he was in 8th or 9th grade, so I don't think that enters into it.
November 22nd, 2023 at 1:58 PM ^
I believe LeBron’s favorite teams are the Yankees and Cowboys. He’s a banner chaser, so his allegiance is meaningless.
November 22nd, 2023 at 10:58 AM ^
Young people probably have no clue how much David Boston and Terry Glenn mouthed off before the game. Back then their words were disrespectful to the rivalry, when respect between the two schools was everything.
Any of Ohio State's band of media brothers Robert Smith, Herbie, Urban etc all at one time or another have reported false stories and rumors at opportune times, their little digs and general negative talk about Michigan. Fuk them all.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:03 AM ^
While I'm at it, Herbstreet should have been run out of ESPN for his stunt with the Les Miles to Michigan stuff the week before the National Championship game. How he held his job and has become a darling of college football media is beyond me. I lost all respect for him that week and avoid listening to anything he has to say.

Art Schlichter. Runs a book out of prison.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:04 AM ^
Justin Fields.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:16 AM ^
Shawn Springs shouldn't be here. He fell down and gifted us a road win, he would make my list of least villainous buckeyes (a very short list).
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:24 AM ^
I personally hated seeing Chris Wells run roughshod over is in 2007-2008.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:28 AM ^
Tom Klaban
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:34 AM ^
Archie Griffin
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:42 PM ^
It's hard to think of Archie Griffin as a villain. He was just really good and played for them. Not an asshole or a trash talker or a dirty player.
November 22nd, 2023 at 2:45 PM ^
From everything I've ever heard, Archie Griffin is a gentleman and a half.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
List is very short, but Bauserman is ok by me.
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:37 AM ^
Can't forget Jack Tatum, the terror of the '69 team. Jack was one of the meanest, toughest Buckeyes of all time,
November 22nd, 2023 at 11:49 AM ^
Barrett always seemed like a pretty good dude; I don't hold any ill will toward him. The refs were the ones to call that play incorrectly.
Also, swap in Tressel for Day, as old Sweatervest was a sanctimonious asshole. And Damon Arnette seems like a guy who annoyed me in college, was a bust in the NFL, and turned out to be a bad dude afterwards.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:21 PM ^
Art Schlichter for QB - kind of a lowlife
Robert Reynolds LB - choked Wisconsin QB Jim Sorgi, injuring his trachea . It must be noted that 8 years later in 2011, he publicly apologized for his actions and stated that he and Sorgi made amends.
As a Pats fan, I can't hate Mike Vrabel. Also, Maurice Clarett has turned his life around and called out the sign stealing allegations against UM as bullshit.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:22 PM ^
Oh my, Aaron Craft and he was on the basketball team. Honorable mention, honorary captain? I kind of admired his hustle until he tried to murder a Wolverine to stop the clock on a break away. I am still disappointed that he didn’t get ejected for flagrant foul.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:25 PM ^
Russ Thomas should be near the top. One could continue to hate this bastard as he pursued a pro career as a player and as a part of management.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:27 PM ^
I think we need a 2nd and 3rd team here. I’m certainly no fan of the Bosa brothers, either. Can’t stand Ezekiel (double since he was a Cowboy and I’m an eagles fan). Terrelle Pryor also has a special place of hate in the pit of my soul.
Curious who Buckeye fans would rank for hated UM players? Since I’m not talking to any of them this week.. I guess I won’t know. I would guess Lewan, Hutch, Braylon, Biakabatuka, Harbaugh?
November 22nd, 2023 at 2:30 PM ^
It would be Desmond and Harbaugh leading the pack by a mile per 11W.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:30 PM ^
Can’t hate Winfield. Dude was amazing and as far as I know, not a dick. Plus his son went to Minnesota.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:32 PM ^
I think we need two lists: one for the dirty villians and one for the pain-inducing competitors. The first list is symbolized by the Marcus Hall double bird image, the second by the Barrett/Gardner image.
Not many opponents can fill out both rosters. Says something about the rivalry.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:44 PM ^
I know this is all fun but I've got a problem calling JT Barrett a villain. He's a high character man and a natural leader. He gracefully handled losing his job after Cardale Jones won the national championship and then earned his job back with class. He's a hard worker. Not a pro arm but definitely a pro character and work ethic. He's everything right about college football, regardless of university of choice.
November 22nd, 2023 at 12:49 PM ^
I hear he is not a bad guy but somehow this guy needs to be on the list.
November 22nd, 2023 at 1:21 PM ^
lol yeah my son had to take a picture with him before 2019 game
November 22nd, 2023 at 2:01 PM ^
Looks like a douchebag? Sure. At least from what I've heard Big Nut is a pretty good dude in real life. Buck-I-Guy on the other hand...

It really is Steinbrenner for me. While stealing Henson away is perfectly legitimate, let's be real. His career would bear out that he was only a middling baseball prospect, signing him to that contract at that time had one motive, and one motive only. Ohio State always has to pull some underhanded off-field shit to undo it whenever Michigan is dominating them. That move helped end an era of Michigan dominance (I firmly believe the Tressel mystique doesn't blossom quite like it did if Henson sticks around and Michigan beats him the first time, and if you remember that game, what killed Michigan were Navarre's INTs, as he was just not quite ready for that stage yet), just as the bullshit going on right now is intended to try to nip another such potential era in the bud.
November 22nd, 2023 at 2:49 PM ^
What frustrated me about Henson is he had told Lloyd after the bowl game he was returning for 2001. So Lloyd felt he could relax and focus on getting more RBs and WRs to replace A Train and Terrell. When Tressel made his "in 310 days" being proud in A2, Drew was still our QB. No chance did I see us losing at home to him had DH stayed.
November 22nd, 2023 at 1:13 PM ^
Good list, no glaring omissions that I can see though personally, I disliked Zeke Elliot far more than Clarett.
Not not sure that Antoine Winfield should be on the list. Damn good player, fun to watch, brought the hammer in run support. Very short list but probably my favorite Buckeye.
November 22nd, 2023 at 1:25 PM ^
Aaron crafts shooting was a boon for Michigan
November 22nd, 2023 at 1:36 PM ^
Troy Smith is the QB and the Team Captain.

Mark Dumbtonio as laundry boy? From days as an asst.

Team Captain: Tony Pettiti.

My list of all-time Buckeyes whom I like / respect:
1. Jesse Owens
2. Chris Spielman
3. JT Barrett
4. Bobby Carpenter (from his radio work)
5. Ten Ginn, Jr (electric player)
6. John Cooper (legendary coach)
7. Eddie George / Orlando Pace (freaks)

I respected Earle Bruce. The rivalry was still intense but I don't recall any real nastiness from them. I was a UM student 81-85 and don't remember "Darth Vader" Bruce as being anything but respectful for the rivalry. In fact, if Bo went over to his locker room to congratulate him after the 1987 loss in Earle's last Ohio game, he must have been a decent guy.
I liked Keith Byars as well.
Some years ago, there was a B1G show on greatest games and the Ohio-Illinois game in 1984 was featured. Byars ran wild in a big comeback win. The Ohio players were commenting how dirty Mike White and Illinois played and said that UM would never have played like that in any game, certainly not vs. Ohio.
November 22nd, 2023 at 4:39 PM ^
Mike White and Illinois were about as dirty as they come. That's why Bo ran the score up on them.
November 22nd, 2023 at 6:12 PM ^
John Cooper - coach forever please
November 23rd, 2023 at 2:00 AM ^
David Boston of course.
November 23rd, 2023 at 2:31 PM ^
I feel like the QB has to be Troy Smith. He and Tressel started this mess, along with Clarett who you have on there Nice list!
