For those of you who don’t have watches, there’s less than 24 hours between now and the game. I’m not sure how to make it out like a suspension for a game that takes place in less than a day is equitable.

If they try to suspend him for tomorrow, I vote for Harbaugh going Leo from Wolf of Wall Street and telling them that he isn’t going anywhere.

Not like the police are going to intervene to remove him from the sidelines to follow some stupid Big Ten ruling.

It's hard to pick, but honestly my favorite part of this entire debacle is how it has pushed rival fans to defend the position that the NCAA and the Big Ten are both very reasonable and respectable organizations who are worthy arbiters of fair play and just punishment.

Big Ten 's action today should be announcing Pettiti has resigned, interim commissioner is whoever, and no investigation will commence until the NCAA report is submitted.

You can't let the head coach of a football team board the team plane less than 24 hours before kickoff only to tell him he's suspended for said game because you were twiddling your fingers the last 2 days.

I've even seen a few Buckeye dufus's on Twitter saying that would be fucked up.

If that happens then all hell might break loose.

If that happens, I think Michigan goes nuclear. Anything benefit of the doubt or sense of loyalty Michigan has to the conference will definitely be gone. I think they would try to sink the whole thing if the B1G decides to be a petty like that.

Personally, I would do the same. Burn it all down and salt the earth.

So they're either planning to suspend him and asking their lawyers if they think they can get away with it or he's stalling for time because he doesn't want to do anything and is scared to hand out a punishment.

LMAO at "...because of the legality involved in the process and documents." Just amateur hour from the Big Ten. How do you not have already everything ready to roll?

So, according to this intel, at the last hour of the day on the night before our biggest game of the season.  A road game in Happy Valley, during an undefeated season, with a Heisman candidate QB, two games before win 1000, and a RB closing in on a school TD record . . . the Commissioner of the Big Ten is vaguely delaying his rush to judgement announcement of some yet to be determined severe/not sever punishment for SIGN STEALING!

If true, his guy is so fucking ludicrous.  If false, he is still fucking ludicrous for literally having the world's worst PR.

How on Earth is he not fired yet?

Her sentence doesn't actually make any sense.  I assume they would have to issue some sort of written decision setting forth the facts and procedure given that's what the Michigan letters emphasized, and doing that in 24 Hours seems a stretch to me.  How are they going to document facts they cannot prove?  And doing something right before a big game seems truly bizarre since there is no real hurry.  This is a very puzzling process to me.

Mgolawyers - If there's an attempt to suspend Harbaugh, and an injunction is filed, does the Big Ten have an opportunity to provide a counter argument at all? It's the only way I see this tweet making sense.

Michigan would move for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and a preliminary injunction. A court can issue a TRO "ex parte," which means "without hearing from both sides." It's common for parties to file a complaint and, simultaneously, move for an immediate TRO, solely on the basis of the allegations in the complaint and any documents or other evidence filed along with the complaint. A court can make a decision on the TRO solely on the basis of the plaintiff's filing, or it can ask for a response from the defendant. When the TRO seeks to stop something that is just about to happen or has just happened, courts usually make the decision ex parte; in less urgent situations, there's a greater chance that the court will want to hear something from both sides. If a TRO is granted, it's usually only effective for a brief time. Ten days is the standard period, but a court could set it for less. Regardless of whether the TRO is granted or denied, the preliminary injunction request is usually heard promptly, with a week or two, and both sides can present briefing and evidence.

And again, just like her previous update, there is a lot of wiggle room in "decision?" Decision to suspend? Decision to fine? Decision to wait for more information or NCAA investigation?

because of the legality involved in the process and documents

This wording sounds like it's right from the B1G office's mouth to try to make it sound like they took significant time to review Michigan's response

B1G just declared themselves irrelevant and worthy of nothing but scorn.

It sickens me to know that the athletes put it all out on the field while they are 'represented' by mealy-mouthed hypocritical cowards.

Yeah, make ESPN your mouthpiece you own it.

Pretty curious if there's any deadline after which Michigan would just ignore a suspension before the PSU game

I also assume they have 3 different judges teed up to approve a TRO if needed

Thamel: Sources: The Big Ten is expected discipline Michigan for the in the in-person scouting and ongoing sign stealing investigation and will prohibit Jim Harbaugh from being on the sideline until the conclusion of the regular season. He will be allowed to coach during the week.

Wooooooooow.... are they going to try and thread the needle of "this is not a suspension"?

I won't call it the end of the conference, but it's seriously injured if this is true. OSU, PSU, USC and Oregon will sustain them... but Michigan is probably 25-30% of the revenue that the five of us would collectively bring in, and I we should at the very least shop that around.

B.S.  It’s taking longer b/c B10 is waiting for the Courts to close up to make the inevitable TRO more challenging. Don’t be shocked if this comes down first thing tomorrow, or in the middle of the night.
