Ryan Day and Hugh Freeze coming up on gameday. Seems like a good time to walk the dog and take a shower.

Doing the dishes and picking up dog shit sounds better.

I’m taking a shit and changing baby diapers instead.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:41 AM ^
From all the reaction last night and what I’ve seen today you would think that OSU won a big game last night.

They just gave up another 75 yard TD
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:07 AM ^
Utah’s blowout win over USC was OSU’s biggest win of the year.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:55 AM ^
It's a joke. Is OSU better than USC, sure. Is Bama better than TCU, probably. But if they want to just put in the 4 most "talented" teams (seems they just look at recruiting rankings for this) we'd be looking at
UGA
Bama
Texas A&M
OSU
this year. Putting in 2 loss Bama (which could just as easily be unbeaten or have 4 losses) is ridiculous. They've been mediocre, by their standards, at best this year. Who has OSU beaten? mediocre Notre Dame? PSU at home in a close game going into the 4th?
To have a team that lost its last game by 22 at home, didn't win its division or even play for a conference championship is nuts. If they want to just do the "talent" thing, might as well put Bama in over OSU.
Teams sitting at home on Championship weekend and getting rewarded is ridiculous.
December 3rd, 2022 at 11:29 AM ^
Honestly, of the teams being considered I would put Bama in. Last second field goal losses on the road to Top 15 teams. I just can’t with OSU. Getting smoked at home to finish the cannot be reconciled with a Playoff bid, IMO.

TCU vs Kansas St is not a sure win for TCU. If TCU loses I think Alabama is in because of strength of schedule. With he reputation of the Big 12, TCU doesn't have a certain hook to hang their strength of schedule hat on.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:38 AM ^
The B12 is one of the stronger conferences this year. They don't have any top teams according to SP+, but they also don't have any pushovers.
This is from two weeks ago (I'm too lazy to update the data).
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:04 AM ^
I guess I will go back to my principal point, Kansas St is 9-3, with a loss at home to Tulane. I don't know if TCU survives that is they lose today.
But really, they should win today. But it would be fun if both TCU and Georgia lose today. What would the Top 4 be then!
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:45 AM ^
Something tells me you'd be pumping up a victory over 9-3 Tulane, but losing to 10-2 Tulane is a bad loss?
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:40 AM ^
Putting in a team with 2 losses and elimination before conference championship weekend over a 1 loss team who didn’t lose until the conference championship game they qualified for is a hell of a stretch.
But that doesn’t mean they won’t do it.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:51 AM ^
But Kansas St is 9-3. Losing to them on a neutral field would likely be considered "exposing who they really are". And I would agree with that.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:58 AM ^
So, you would be ok if UM is left off if they lose to edit: Purdue? I wouldn't. Same should work for TCU.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:10 AM ^
You're talking about Michigan?
But M blew away a top 5 team at their home. TCU has nothing like that in their resume.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:17 AM ^
TCU beat a lot of teams that are in top 25 without a true top 5 team win. No season will be perfect. You can only play who you got and they played a decent strength of schedule. Bama got plenty of opportunities and messed up. I would not compare TCU to Bama or OSU
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:22 AM ^
But M over OSU was on the road. and it was a blow up, most people picking OSU to win, including many M fans.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:42 AM ^
When you have two losses and your best win is over a 4 loss Texas team without their starter QB, spare me the strength of schedule bullshit.
There are 4 teams that will have zero or one loss. Bama is out
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:43 AM ^
Should be out. Don’t trust the politics of selection to definitively say “is” out if TCU loses big. If TCU were named Oklahoma or Texas, I would feel more confident.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:48 AM ^
TCU would have the best win (vs. Kansas State), although that would negated a bit because they would have lost in the title game. Both teams next best win is Texas, ranked 20th, with TCU looking better in that one than Alabama. TCU would have one loss, and Alabama will have two, both on the last play of the game.
It may come down to how bad TCU would have lost today. I would think TCU would have the edge, especially if their loss is close. But it's possible that Alabama could be picked.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:57 AM ^
But Kansas S being 9-3, with 1 of the 3 being a loss to Tulane at home, is a mark against TCU if they lose.
TCU would be in a precarious spot if the lose. And I think rightly so.
Alabama has 2 losses. But both were very close losses to good teams on the road.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:00 AM ^
Bama and OSU should not be in top 4 regardless of what happened yesterday or today.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:18 AM ^
Conference Championships played on "neutral fields" should have a bearing on things. If TCU loses to Kansas St on a "neutral field", with having already beaten them on their home field during the regular season, it could be saying that TCU was "exposed for who they really are". And maybe that would be right.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:51 AM ^
Jay Bilas has an interesting take on this when it comes to the NCAA men's basketball tournament. His idea is that teams should be selected prior to their conference tournament, and the conference tournament should only be used to get teams in that weren't already selected in the tournament, not to help bubble teams get in.
I wonder if college football could do something similar.

A cowboy hat and a tank top: McAfee is a fucking idiot.
December 3rd, 2022 at 9:42 AM ^
Here's a pleasant thought: If you convened a focus group of college football fans and asked them about McAfee, they'd probably find him delightful.
It's their world and we live in it.

Anyone who finds McAfee 'delightful' is a probably a moron.

Yeah…he kinda fits the Barstool/dudebro/WWE angle that they’re going for here. It definitely appeals to many—but it’s not for me.
I mean, I was listening to some random college football show on SiriusXM yesterday, and they brought on AJ Styles for his “expert analysis,” just because he’s a Georgia fan.

He’s horrible, but the alternative includes Urban.

Yup. If he's replacing Clay Travis as their gambling expert, that would be the biggest media upgrade ever. Not even Brady Hoke to Jim Harbaugh is a bigger upgrade.

Funny. The way the CFB playoff committee chair was praising USC and Caleb, I am not sure what they are going to do.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:32 AM ^
This is going to be a big problem for the Committee on balancing one loss Ohio State (who got blown out at home) versus two loss Alabama (who lost twice on the road at the last second and in overtime). I hate Alabama as much as anyone, but their two losses were by WAY less than Ohio State’s one loss, with both on the road and both to highly ranked opponents.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:46 AM ^
But wins have to matter too. Ohio State has easily the best win of the two (at Penn State) and may have the second best win (Notre Dame). Plus they have one more win than Alabama.
I think people look too much at losses (and how they lost) and not wins.
December 3rd, 2022 at 10:51 AM ^
It’s a real dilemma. OSU has an awful loss. Bama has no good wins.
