Happy for Cade. Cade vs JJ in Indy next year would be something…

Jinx!

That’s a nice get for Iowa. I hope a new OC is in the cards for Cade when he gets there.
btw/ he still has 3 years of eligibility. He could be the rare guy who becomes a legend at two schools.
December 1st, 2022 at 11:40 PM ^
No, no, no. He has two years of eligibility unless he is able to show that his 2019 redshirt was also medical. And I sincerely doubt he wants to have a seven-year college career anyway. He’s not John Belushi.

or Tommy Callahan

But think of all the post-grad credits he can get paid for free... without having to take out any student loans. :) Heck, he's probably going to get paid via NIL.
I wish him all the best, except for when he plays us.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
He should get his first throw of the year by game 3.
Could have looked at several B1G schools that throw more, including Purdue. Hmmmmm
December 1st, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Ever think they don’t throw more because of the quarterback situation?
December 1st, 2022 at 9:31 PM ^
Stop that logic and reason shit right now!
December 1st, 2022 at 9:14 PM ^
It’s not as if McNamara likely had a long list of schools to choose from that wanted him as their starting QB. He did a good job last year, but that was on a team with a great running game and top defense. He usually made good decisions, but has an average arm and below average mobility. He was solid, not dynamic. Most schools don’t have the advantages Michigan has and see his limitations. Many have their own QBs they like. You can assume Iowa was his best option.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:34 PM ^
Is Cade the second coming of Justin Herbert or something? No.
But he led his team to a B1G championship and CFP bid. This is a horrible take. You make Cade sound like Shea.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
“Horrible take…” What do you disagree with? That he benefitted from playing on a team with a strong running game and top defense? That he has as an average arm and below average mobility? That he was solid but not dynamic? We all know about Iowa’s issues on offense. If he had better options, why did he choose them?
December 1st, 2022 at 9:48 PM ^
you shut your mouth when you’re talking about cade. He is a Michigan legend. The Ann Arbor city council passed emergency legislation forbidding cade from buying his own beer within the city limits. All patrons who fail to buy sir legend cade a drink will have their assets seized and drinks donated to the the thirsty legend fund.
he was responsible for H2’s five touchdowns against ohio st and parted holes like the Red Sea. He’s a humble legend so he gave the Joe Moore award to the offensive lineman.
The 5 picks he threw in the final three games were just to give the other teams a head start and a punchers chance even though he got knocked out of the playoff game.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:56 PM ^
So JJ has been the benefit of playing for a team with a strong running game and top defense?
December 1st, 2022 at 10:01 PM ^
Absolutely. But he also has an elite arm and excellent mobility. Because of those abilities, he would’ve had more and better choices if he was the one who had to transfer.
December 1st, 2022 at 11:29 PM ^
When are we going to see this elite arm? And I give him the running advantage but if he doesn’t use it during the game it’s a moot point anyways.
December 1st, 2022 at 11:42 PM ^
"When are we going to see this elite arm?"
You already have. There are maybe three QBs in FBS who could make the throw he did at OSU for Cornelius Johnson's first TD. A back-footed laser beam halfway across the field with a defender hell bent for leather in his face.
December 2nd, 2022 at 6:18 AM ^
A 7 yard pass to the left where CJ broke 2 tackles for the score? Elite does better than 50% completion % a game the last month and a half.

This guy is funny!

Make me laugh, clown.

Awe, did your precious sparties not make a bowl game?
December 2nd, 2022 at 12:18 AM ^
Why are you here, if not to troll? If Saturday did not shut you up, nothing will.
December 2nd, 2022 at 1:37 AM ^
He has been a troll since the second he showed up here. Just ignore him.
December 2nd, 2022 at 1:43 AM ^
You'll see it when you watch the games.
You'll also see that JJ opens up a lot of the running game because of his running ability.
December 2nd, 2022 at 4:24 AM ^
Are you blind?
December 1st, 2022 at 10:21 PM ^
From now til the end of time, remember it was Cade at the helm who pulled the team out of Miltonville mediocrity.. We risked losing the state to MSU and getting Harbaugh fired. Standing ovation, Cade deserves, when he returns to AA.
December 1st, 2022 at 11:08 PM ^
It was an historic season for M & Cade. Long live Cade!
Just comparing the differences between Cade & Denard right now. I have no data. But put them together & you got 1 fine quarterback!!
December 1st, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
Did you forget his recruiting offer list?
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:17 AM ^
I would think McNamara could have played for a pretty good number of schools. Iowa is a top half program in the Big Ten, typically in the 15 - 30 range nationally, and they really are just missing a QB.
If Iowa was interested in Cade that means he's good enough for what, 80% - 85% of programs? Yes, there are syle limitations due to how Cade played for Michigan (for example I doubt Mike Leach would want him). I just mean to point out that if Iowa wanted him I would imagine the list of suitors was probably pretty long.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:15 PM ^
Wisconsin badly needs to replace Mertz. I hear guys who grad transfer to Wiscy do okay for themselves.
December 2nd, 2022 at 10:12 AM ^
Until they get to Denver.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:58 PM ^
Pure speculation here but Trevor Keegan commented “see you in the ship next year” on Cades post so I’d say there’s a good chance he returns.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
And then immediately shot that down in a reply.

Good luck to Cade, and thank you for 2021.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Guess I have to root for Iowa now too.
December 2nd, 2022 at 4:39 AM ^
This won't be too difficult. Over the years, Iowa has been one of those Big Ten schools that I don't mind so much. Sure, every so often they'd beat Michigan, which means that I would hate their guts, but that's true of any team that beats us. (I'm especially looking at you, Minnesota in 1977!)
Yes, Iowa may have a boring offense and the worst kind of nepotism hire running it. But I like their Hawkeye logo and their traditional Steelers-from-the-70's uniforms, their stadium named for a Heisman winner who died in WWII, and that very cool wave they do at the Children's Hospital.
Best of luck, Cade, and at the risk of sounding like Radar O'Reilly: Go Iowa! (Until you play Michigan. Then I'll hate your guts too. Nothing personal.)
December 2nd, 2022 at 8:12 AM ^
Watch Cade save Brian Ferentz's career. Lol.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
Gonna be throwing to Oliver Martin who still has 7 more years of eligibility.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
I thought Oliver was at Nebraska now.

I'm sure he's portaling back to Iowa.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:35 PM ^
Taking his talents to Iowa City?
December 1st, 2022 at 9:08 PM ^
He wants to be a screen writer.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
If Iowa's offensive line is better next year this could be a pretty awesome match.
If Iowa's offensive line still sucks I will be sad.
December 1st, 2022 at 10:22 PM ^
The move is obvious as he will walk right into the starting job and improve their situation but I think Cade could have found a better fit. Cade’s strength is knowing what to do presnap. He would have excelled in a wide open offensive system like he ran in high school. Somewhere like Washington State or Mississippi State. If Iowa continues to run their base offense he will be expected to run waggles or make reads behind an average offensive line with limited skill players on the outside. Iowa will continue to be very good on defense but they lose a lot of their best guys. If I was picking a West team right now it would be Wisconsin. Fickell will improve them and they always have a good base to start with.
