Baseball Bracketology
Baseball America has updated its Field of 64 for the NCAAs. Michigan gets a 2 seed (there are sixteen 1 seeds, sixteen 2 seeds, etc.). Other B1G teams in the tournament are Maryland (getting the 16th one seed) and Iowa and Purdue (both three seeds). Purdue is one of the last four in.
Also Michigan has 8 straight home games between now and next Sunday, including a 2pm first pitch against Iowa on Saturday. Would be a nice double header with the spring game starting at noon.
The bats on Michigan's team are deep and lethal. They need the pitching to come around--Omaha is a real possibility.
Fire Bakich.
Hash tag?
Hash browns
How are we rated that high when we're 13-10 and third in the B1G?
Hey, for the same reason those neighborhood kids carried my mother's groceries all the way home. It's out of respect.
Most of Michigan’s losses have been to teams in the tournament. And, as noted below, the bullpen is an issue. It’s blown wins against a number of top teams including Louisville and Vandy.
gotcha. So you're telling me we shouldn't fire Bakich?
"Third in the Big Ten" - There has been one series, that UM won 2-1 against a usually good Nebraska team and the team in "first" has played one BIG game so far.
UM is rated highly because despite a 13-10 record, they have played a very strong schedule (Vandy, L'Ville, etc) and have done decently.
yeah, kinda shocked they are a tourney team based on record alone, but I guess I didn't realize how tought the schedule has been.
Fire Bakich
I'm kind of shocked that they are talking tournament considering they are currently getting shelled by a 10-12 Oakland Grizzlies team 14-4 in the 7th.

You're shocked that this thing that happened after the article came out isn't mentioned in the article?
Maybe it’s me, but seems sorta early for baseball bracketology to be a thing. Not even halfway through the regular season and just 3 games into conference play
Who is the equivalent of Joe Lunardi for Baseball Bracketology? and who is the equivalent to Jerry Palm?
Loe Junardi and Perry Jalm (the J is silent), respectively.
Thanks, Dr Aws. I didn't realize I was mispronouncing your name in my head all these years!
It's Don Perry Jalm
Hairy Palm syndrome.... you can go blind from that you know.

It's kinda paywalled: one gets 5 free articles at BA (didn't specify a time period for the 5).
For the love of God, FIRE BAKICH. I can't afford many more trips to all these post-season venues...
now that's what I call a jinx, down 14-4 to Oakland (MI) in the 6th right now.
