Thanks for all you did Dax! Good luck in the NFL.
I won't start a thread but this should mean 93 guys on scholarship now, just messing with you TK, I actually appreciate those threads.

Haha, noted!

For all the Rod Moore NB or S talk...for me it comes down to a couple of things.
1. Is Zeke Berry ready to step in for Dax Hill?
Let's assume no.
2. Is Michael Barrett returning?
If so, I think it's simple...you basically rotate Barrett and Makari Paige depending on the situation.
Colson-NHG-Barrett
Turner-Gray
Moore-Moten
...when you sub...
Colson-NHG
Turner-Gray-Moore (NB)
Paige-Moten
...the last "IF"
If Barrett leaves...
I would move Turner to NB, start Gray and Green at CB and Moore and Moten at safety.
Turner has proven he can hang with guys 1 v 1 and hold the edge (see Northwestern game). If someone runs a slot fade...Turner is the guy you want covering the receiver.

Love the dude, most guys with his talent probably would have just chosen Bama
January 6th, 2022 at 6:33 PM ^
Excellent point.
He is truly a "Bama" type player that got away (from them). Ultra talented from Day 1.
Was fun watching him shut guys down.
Even last year, he was always in someone's hip pocket, best CB we had last year and it wasn't even close.
I don't see a 1st rounder, but I see a guy who will be in the league a long time.

Godspeed
January 6th, 2022 at 6:07 PM ^
Knew this was coming, wish Dax nothing but the best.
January 7th, 2022 at 12:01 AM ^
Love Dax!
Wish we hadn't wasted a year of his career on 2020 and an absentee coach
January 6th, 2022 at 6:09 PM ^
Heckuva player - I hope he makes tens of millions in the NFL
January 6th, 2022 at 6:09 PM ^
Kill ‘em all, Dax
January 6th, 2022 at 6:17 PM ^
Let the paramedics sort them out.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:11 PM ^
WHAT??? I'm STUNNED! STUNNED, I tell you!!!
-- Said no one, ever
Good luck in the League, Dax - we'll miss you here, but will savor the memories always. And thank you for choosing us over Bama. I really hope it was worth your time and energy, because we sure as hell appreciated it...
January 6th, 2022 at 6:12 PM ^
We knew when he signed it was most likely going to be a 3 year ride. Wish him the best of luck in the NFL.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:15 PM ^
hopefully Keon Sabb fills in his role
good luck Dax!
January 6th, 2022 at 6:31 PM ^
Different positions.
January 6th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
Missionary always
January 6th, 2022 at 6:56 PM ^
Totally different players. Dax is a super athletic CB/S type, Sabb is a thicc LB/S type.
January 6th, 2022 at 7:41 PM ^
Sabb would play the Barrett role
January 6th, 2022 at 8:44 PM ^
I think it’s more likely Will Johnson may fill his role
January 6th, 2022 at 6:18 PM ^
Thanks Dax.
It was a pleasure to watch him play in the maize and blue.... looking forward to seeing him have a long and productive career in the league.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:19 PM ^
Not a surprise, and I wish everyone the best. But, can we just rip this band-aid off and get these out of the way? I get my feels are low priority, but still, just a preference.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:23 PM ^
Likely a 1st or 2nd round pick so no surprise. Good luck in the NFL. As a Lions fan he's on my radar with our 2nd round pick. Maybe even the Rams pick depending on how things fall.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:30 PM ^
Likely a 1st round pick?
I'll have what you're having.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:58 PM ^
He said likely 1st “OR” 2nd round pick. I guess reading can be difficult for some…
January 6th, 2022 at 6:26 PM ^
Dax Hill to the NFL, but what about Jim Harbaugh? Will the administration and athletic director force his hand by not wanting to be competitive with the top schools
January 6th, 2022 at 8:22 PM ^
I believe there is very real concern about Harbaugh leaving in the AD office. A lot of puzzle pieces left as of last night.
January 6th, 2022 at 9:04 PM ^
Where are you getting this from?
January 6th, 2022 at 6:29 PM ^
Best of luck to Dax...SOMEONE GO CALL BRANDON JOSEPH RIGHT NOW!!!
January 6th, 2022 at 6:31 PM ^
Good luck to him. Our defense next year will have their work cut out for them. We will be very young and inexperienced. Yikes
January 6th, 2022 at 7:01 PM ^
Every single lost starter is being replaced by a guy that received plenty of playing time… inexperienced isn’t a word I’d use.
January 6th, 2022 at 7:18 PM ^
Yeah, there may be some question marks due to increased playing time and roles, but experience is there. Assuming our Edges aren't as good as Hutch/Ojabo (through no fault of the Edges we have on the roster) the need of everyone to step up next year is a little higher
January 6th, 2022 at 6:37 PM ^
Maybe it’s the Covid year, or just the new paradigm of college football but it feels so fleeting that we get root for some of these guys these days. Dax, Hinton, etc.. feels like they just got here. I’m glad for the players and won’t begrudge any for their decisions, they’ve earned it. Just seems so brief now! Or maybe I’m just old. Go get yours, Dax!
January 6th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
I think it’s 100% the COVID year as it it made it feel like that year didn’t even count (partly because of how weird the shortened season was with no fans and partly due to blocking it out because of how bad we were) which is why it feels like Mayfield, McGrone, Dax, Hinton were hardly here but it definitely felt like we got to see guys like DPJ, Ruiz, Long, Gary, Bush, Jabrill, Funchess, Manningham play for a while and grow.
January 6th, 2022 at 6:45 PM ^
Go forth and get paid, young man!! Thanks for all you gave to the Maize and Blue!!
January 6th, 2022 at 7:10 PM ^
Hard to imagine this year's defense without him. He covered the best player all year it seemed. Seemed like a quiet achiever. Best of luck!
January 6th, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
Nooooooooo. Whyyyyy?!!?!?! Whyyyyy?!?!?!
January 6th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
Nothing but love for this guy! Hope he kills it at the next level!
January 6th, 2022 at 7:50 PM ^
His career reminds me of Rashan gary. I'll just leave at that so we all don't have to argue about it. Wish he stayed but I get why he's going! Best of luck and thanks for breaking Wisconsin's QB in half
January 6th, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
First of all, Gary was a highly effective player. I think he’s a major reason why Chase Winovich elevated to the player he became and Gary set the edge extremely well, and was picked 12th in the draft.
Secondly, Covid year stole one of our precious years with Dax….but we were so lucky to have him play the way he did both as a freshmen and this year
January 7th, 2022 at 8:47 AM ^
Did I knock anybody? I said their careers reminded me of each other.
I also think both will be better pros because they'll be surrounded by better talent, which takes the burden off them to do everything
January 6th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
Thank you Dax. Was great having you play so well for Michigan. Good luck and continued success with all of your future endeavors.
January 6th, 2022 at 8:01 PM ^
January 6th, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
agreed - my ribs felt that hit
January 6th, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
It feels like just yesterday, Jourdan Lewis was making that 1-handed INT vs. Wisconsin, doesn't it? And now Dax Hill is departing. Wow. Time flies.
January 6th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
Dax - That hit you put on Graham Mertz was a thing of beauty - perfect painful form tackle! Not gonna lie, you were one of those players I would've loved to have another year in MacDonald's defense. But give em hell at the N-F-L you've earned it.
January 6th, 2022 at 8:28 PM ^
Other than Moody, is this it for NFL declarations or is there someone else who might go pro?
January 6th, 2022 at 8:29 PM ^
Different skill set for sure
But better UM career:
Peppers or Dax?
Both were great and I think will stick around in the league. Heck I wish we had both at the same time! That’s what we need to hang in the CFP
think I would give the slight edge to Peppers but it probably depends on what D scheme you run
