I just came across this on Twitter.

Good luck Aidan, and heartfelt thanks for all you have done to help bring back our Michigan Football Program!

He is one special young man and he was obviously raised right. Good luck Aidan!

I am totally shocked by his decision...
(/s if necessary)

Thanks for the memories, Aidan.
If the number is 5, I'm taking the over on misspellings of his name in this thread.
January 5th, 2022 at 1:49 PM ^
A perfect 3-for-3 so far, though!

Aiden's dad, Steve, must surely be very proud of his son, Aydan.

Asian spellings, Andrew?

it is amazing to me how many people misspell his name lol

I believe his fathers name is Chris. But, Steve was a great player for us too!!

Most important Michigan player since Tom Brady at the latest.
Everything we want from a Michigan player.
Go get QBs in the NFL. Who knows? Maybe he'll get a chance to play against Brady at that.
January 5th, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
Tom Brady!? He has been great in the NFL, but did not have much of a direct impact on UM football. Denard, Devin Bush, Jabril, and Rashan, just a few names with more direct impact.
In terms of leadership, Aidan is the best (Charles comes close)
January 5th, 2022 at 2:16 PM ^
Brady was a multi-year starter at QB, thats a lot of playing time for a college QB, especially back then when underclassmen never saw the field.
January 6th, 2022 at 8:28 AM ^
At Michigan, Brady had a bunch of late game heroics to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Just like he does in the NFL.
January 5th, 2022 at 2:31 PM ^
You may have missed that 2000 Orange Bowl against Bama. Brady was a beast that day. He and David Terrell were all that kept UM in that game.
January 5th, 2022 at 5:04 PM ^
I was at that game. Did you miss Denard at ND?
TB had some good games at UM and the Alabama game was his best. But if he had not followed it up with the greatest NFL career, we would rank him below a lot of players since 2000.

Brady had a very good college career at Michigan but not great. His NFL career has been unparalleled, however, and he has been a staunch Michigan supporter in a very public way for 20+ years.
Do the high school kids pay attention to that however? As fans we can gush over Brady, Charles Woodson and Desmond Howard, but do they sway recruits? It is too bad Brady doesn't run a passing camp.

Besides Charles, might be my fav defensive player in recent memory. Hats off to the guy and I'm sure we'll see him make a name for himself in the NFL.
January 5th, 2022 at 2:17 PM ^
Charles left 24 years ago. I was born, graduated from UM, bought a house, and got married, all since he was done playing. That is not recent memory LOL

Well, now I feel REALLY old

One of the best Michigan men in the history of the program. Ability, character, class.....
January 5th, 2022 at 7:06 PM ^
I hate that term as an OSU fan, but he is what every Michigan man should strive to be. The three characteristics you mentioned embody him as a person. He never talked shit to a degrading level, he played his heart out and he backed up all of it out on the field. I want to hate him, but I can’t. He should be the standard of a Michigan man. Just like OSU fans remember the Biakabatuka game, they will always remember the Hutchinson game. Congrats to him on a successful career and I hope he succeeds in the league.

Wow, I got goosebumps reading his post. He's an all timer for me and I'm super thankful I was able to watch him play ball at Michigan. Here's to his future and him wrecking NFL QB's!
January 5th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
it figures his announcement would be as all-american as his career. that was the best one i have ever read, and i'm not the only one here that has read and appreciated many, ojabo's being a great example.

Class.

Another covid eligibility side effect. A senior that played all 4 years has to "declare" for the draft.
Good luck Aidan. You will be missed but not forgotten by UM fans.
January 5th, 2022 at 2:32 PM ^
I love that the first comment on his Twitter is so 50 or 60 something old man who is an osu fan posting his record against osu...
Then his page is filled with georgia fans clips of hutch in the 1 or 2 plays that he got beat
January 5th, 2022 at 2:45 PM ^
Must be eating that fan from the inside that Aidan ended his regular season with a decisive and dominant win against osu.
January 5th, 2022 at 7:11 PM ^
Dude is a legend that gave his all against OSU when he was playing. That shitty OSU fan will always remember Hutch throwing our OL around this year. Twitter is a cesspool.
January 5th, 2022 at 3:38 PM ^
Good luck!
January 5th, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
Godspeed, good man. Thank you for helping to bring Michigan football from the wilderness. You will be remembered here for generations
January 5th, 2022 at 5:32 PM ^
I’m not sure the NFL would want him. I think the best thing for me—ahem, him would be to stay another year, get a little stronger, maybe grow a couple inches, refine his technique, and beat OSU one more time.
(He still has eligibility, right?)
Oh, humbug, I just had to get one last hit of hopium before the cold turkey.
January 5th, 2022 at 6:28 PM ^
I’m not crying, you are!
In all seriousness, his good bye was top notch. You get goosebumps reading it, and his acknowledgment on the 10 years since an osu win was a dream to win for him, his family and Michigan. This dude gets it. I will def miss him as he solidified himself as one of my top favorite Michigan players. Good luck Hutch! Thanks for the leadership amazing performance you displayed as a Wolverine. Go Blue!

This young man is all that comprises a Michigan Man. He visualized it, worked at it, then executed it his every down at every game. I wish him every success he pursues and every happiness he desires.
January 5th, 2022 at 10:08 PM ^
Simply the best. Good luck and Congratulations Aidan. We all learned from, enjoyed your spirit, work ethic, and motor. Good speed and Go Blue !
