Michigan wins 27-25 as Jake Moody goes 9/9 on field goals. Franklin ices his own kicker at the gun, who then misses wide
November 12th, 2021 at 4:03 AM ^
I can actually see that happening lol. I see some predicted we'd score 30+ and a 40+ score. We won't get anywhere near that. Not against that defense and especially with all our offensive injuries to key players. The buckeyes only scored 33 points and that was with a defensive TD. They were in the red zone 6 times and came away with 1 TD, 4 FGs and failed on a 4th and 3. With our red zone issues we score 1 td and add 4 FGs and lose 24-19
November 12th, 2021 at 10:16 AM ^
We will break through for a couple of TD’s and win 20-17

Michigan 24, Penn State 23
November 11th, 2021 at 8:54 PM ^
8 field goals?
November 11th, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
6 field goals and 3 safeties.
November 11th, 2021 at 10:51 PM ^
19-15 Michigan
Remember before there was Field Goal Harbaugh there was Field Goal Franklin. Mich makes one score a TD to not take over the original FG king.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:23 PM ^
28-21 M!!!
November 12th, 2021 at 8:41 AM ^
It all comes down to how many egregious officiating calls and missed holding penalties occur against our D.
That said, I think we can weather the storm and manage a 24-17 win.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:36 PM ^
I’m torn. On the one hand PSU looked like butt against Illinois and with key injuries I don’t see them having the tools to dominate either side of the ball.
On the other hand we have our own injuries and PSU certainly has enough talent to beat us even if they haven’t been playing like it lately.
if we lose it means an almost certainly portends a thud to end the season and it’s almost too close to call in my mind so screw it. Good guys win 33-27. Defense scores 7 for us, Haskins goes off for 200 yards rushing, and our red zone woes continue so we end up kicking 4 for field goals but score enough to win.
November 12th, 2021 at 10:15 AM ^
Yeah, I see us getting about 5-6 scoring opportunities on offense (we had 7 versus Michigan State I believe). And I predict 2 of those result in touchdowns, and the other 3-4 are field goals. On the other side, Penn State struggles with their 1 dimensional offense and their weak tackles against our elite pass rushers, but still catches the defense napping 2-3 times. Dotson gets his, for sure, with 2 or maybe 3 touchdowns. But otherwise, Penn State stalls out or goes 3 and out several times (with 1 sack fumble). Michigan wins a decisive but still somewhat close 26-21 game where Penn State is behind but has a chance to win or tie in the 4th quarter, but rainy conditions make it tough and they turn it over on downs near the redzone. Michigan sits on the football for the rest of the quarter and walks away with the W.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
I originally thought this might be for the hockey game.
3-2 good guys! Go Blue!
November 11th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
27-13 good guys. Settling for a couple red-zone field goals luckily doesn't cost us this one, but keeps our same concerns alive.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
30-22 Michigan. 1/4 of mgoblog continues bitching about the win/Harbaugh and for them it does not count as a big win.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
Penn state isn’t even ranked and Michigan is currently favored so it’s not.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:58 PM ^

Another swing and another miss.
November 11th, 2021 at 11:12 PM ^
Any win at Penn State is a good win. When Penn State has a pulse, which is almost always, it's a very difficult stadium to win in.
November 12th, 2021 at 11:24 AM ^
Penn state isn’t even ranked and Michigan is currently favored so it’s not.
If Michigan flipped back to 1-point underdogs it would be a big win?
It sounds like all we need to do to get 'big wins' is play much worse so we aren't the favorites so often
November 11th, 2021 at 8:52 PM ^
Read this as a prediction about the officials. I predict they will suck. Many holds will be missed and an inordinate amount of time will be spent reviewing plays,
November 11th, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
Will they ignore multiple pass interference violations?
November 11th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
27-21 Michigan
If Michigan does lose over / under 3.5 threads whining about refs, field crown, atmospheric conditions, etc.
November 11th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ^
If refs f-up we have to complain, win or lose.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:57 PM ^
Unfortunately I see a couple of big and bad calls going against us (per usual) and our red zone problems continue. Dotson is too much for a rather untested secondary and is going to make some big plays. Close game throughout. 24-20 bad guys.
November 11th, 2021 at 8:59 PM ^
Michigan wins!
November 11th, 2021 at 9:03 PM ^
UM 34 PSU 10
Their starting and backup DT are injured, playing perfectly into Harbaugh offense. They can't get us off the field and are forced to play from behind which favors our defense/pass rushers, specifically with Clifford not 100%
Their offense not having the balance to stay on the field with their own run game allows us to control the game Harbaugh style. Not much imagination or creativity needed in this one if we play clean.

At the end of 3rd quarter. Michigan wins 41-30. Franklin kicks a FG with 6 mins to go.
November 11th, 2021 at 9:16 PM ^
Illinois Penn state 2.0 but with more turnovers.
November 11th, 2021 at 9:19 PM ^
Could be ugly weather for the game. Low scoring slog with turnovers being huge. Fewest mistakes wins.
Go Blue ???
November 11th, 2021 at 9:55 PM ^
Doesn't look too bad -- at least not according to WeatherBug.
https://www.weatherbug.com/weather-forecast/10-day-weather/happy-valley-pa-18643
Partly sunny, 50% chance of rain, highs in the upper 40s.
I mean...kinda normal Big 10 November football weather, honestly.
November 12th, 2021 at 10:09 AM ^
50% chance of rain
I feel like this isn't being talked about enough. It's definitely B1G weather, but if it starts raining, especially early in the game, Penn State is screwed. They have zero ground game and their defense is susceptible to getting gashed by teams who run well.
If it rains at all this game, our odds of winning skyrocket
November 11th, 2021 at 9:27 PM ^
34-24 Good guys.
November 11th, 2021 at 9:30 PM ^
This is a huge game and would count as such. Win this one and we’re almost assuredly going into the game with only one (questionable) loss. We could have a chance to win the East division if OSU takes care of business against MSU. Even should that fail PSU is not a bad team and could beat MSU at their place.
As for PSU I think we get a potent passing attack that builds for the rest of the season and we win 24-14.
November 11th, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
Penn State owns 1 of the 4 quarters with Dotson outscoring Michigan 14-3. Redzone issues continue, but FG kicking becomes the difference as a PSU missed FG is the difference. 23-21 UofM.
Michigan controls the momentum for much of the game, but inability to put the game away (and terrible quarter) raises more doubts. Running game huge, but nonexistent in the redzone. Ultimately, a win…but feels unsatisfying (due to what was left on the field). People mostly praise the Defense.
Cade throws for 160 yards, but JJ with the only passing TD. (Though everyone will finally celebrate the PSU win once they blow out MSU 35-13 in the near future).
November 11th, 2021 at 9:40 PM ^
UM 21 - PSU 17. Michigan scores the winning TD with less than a minute left in the game
November 11th, 2021 at 9:42 PM ^

November 12th, 2021 at 7:36 AM ^
Damn Don. I think you predicted MSU to win. I hope you strike out this time.
November 12th, 2021 at 9:58 AM ^
I did.
I also predicted Wisconsin to win, so my abilities as a seer are questionable at best.
I've had PSU as a loss since before the season began, primarily because it's on the road, and now additionally because of injuries to some of our key offensive players. If the game was in A2, I'd be picking Michigan in a close game.
I also expect the officiating to be horrifying, in PSU's favor. Hutchinson and Ojabo are going to be just plain tackled all game long, and the zebras are going to look right at it and refuse to throw the flag.
November 11th, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
I’ll be there, so, hopefully a win. Been to well over a 100 home games but only one other away game.
November 12th, 2021 at 12:29 AM ^
It’s a very fun, very ugly place.
The tailgate around the stadium is very much like the Michigan golf course, but around the stadium instead of across the street. People are friendly, and you’ll hear every variety of Pennsylvania accent.
The stadium itself looks like you took a highschool football field, and added capacity to the bleachers. Then added onto the bleachers again and again and again until steel town ran out if I beams for the structure under the bleachers.
