Is Chris Partridge HC worthy for UM?

I don’t expect Coach Harbaugh to be gone, but curious if Partridge is worthy of the job. Great recruiter. Been a solid coach for the positions he’s been moved to. Finally he is younger, but been in the college ranks for some time.

Brown is reason UM has sucked? Brown is brutal, but before this year he carried this sad pathetic O. Harbaugh’s O sucks and needs to wake up. If he gsts the extension it will go down as a defining moment in this program in a huge negative way. Screw Warde Manuel.

If thats the case, I say you kick the tires on Woodson for DC. Pay him as much as it takes, let him pick all new assistants on D and actually recruit DBs that can run and develop. If it all works out with him make him HC when Jim's contract is up.

I won't listen to arguments about Woodson having no coaching experience...the guy has excelled individually, and as a team at all levels of football. He fully embraces the hard work and mindset it takes to reach the expectations MI traditionally has.

A guy can dream.

Do you have a single example of this ever happening successfully in college football? Where a legend from a power five program goes back to coach them and does it successfully? No? There's a reason OSU is coached by guys who went to Cincinnati and New Hampshire, and not freakin Eddie George or Archie Griffin. Because they're more qualified and are actually, you know, coaches

I figured it would be too soon for him.. Just surprised his name hasn’t come up at all, and I think he might be a decent HC at some point.

For some college team somewhere?  Sure.  At Michigan?  Good lord no.

Harbaugh may well be fired.  He absolutely should not be replaced by a former HS coach with no college HC position and barely any assistant experience

I mean Partridge hasn’t been a coordinator but has been an assistant for most 5(?) years now. Players love him. Need a leader and person people can get behind to be a HC. I believe there are better options than Partridge for UM, but just wanted to hear others thoughts.

Please don't tell me we just re-signed Harbaugh with Matt Campbell right there, knocking on the door of a conference championship at Iowa freakin State.  That would be just utterly deflating for any hopes of greater success next year

no coach will succeed at michigan until the crap that sunk three straight coaches is fixed. culture, administration, whatever? michigan has become a destination for coaches to die.

Harbaugh will return. Chris Balas from Rivals reporting the same today and he states a 3 year extension is signed and will be announced next week. In addition, 5-10 players waiting to see what the staff changes look like before opting for the Transfer Portal.

COVID and probably agreeing to sweeping staff changes.

Buckle up, I called a month ago a Harbaugh extension announcement followed by a series of “parting ways” releases on most the assistants.

Shoop: Gone

Nua: Gone

McDaniels: Gone

Brown: Gone

Moore: stays

Gattis: Unsure

Jay: Probably encouraged to find a G5 coordinator job or else he’ll be back

Ed: Stays

Zordich: Proooooobably safe

BJM: Unsure

Bet a new Chief of Staff replaces McGee.

Dudek: Stays

Herbert: Unsure

Most changes will come on defense.  Think offense will get a pass with how young they are and injuries and such.

Absolutely not. 4 years in college is hardly “some time” and he’s in his first year as a CO-DC. Not even running his own unit.

You think our D is bad? Ole Miss is giving up the 2nd most yards in the country (~90 more yards per game than we are) and are 117th (out of 127) in points allowed per game at 38.8.

Partridge hasn’t even shown enough to be named our defensive coordinator, let alone head coach.
