Originally Chicago, currently Switzerland after a stint in Argentina.
My wife is Argentinean and my kids were born here which makes them a very mixed up amalgamation of Western European blood, new world familial culture, and local societal expectations to behave more like a robot than a child and never, ever arrive late.

Westland, MI for the majority of my life. Spent ten years of my early childhood in nearby Canton before the Ikea was built. Also spent periods of my adult life in A2, Royal Oak, Lake Buena Vista, FL, and Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
February 11th, 2020 at 7:48 AM ^
I grew up in the neighborhood right behind that Ikea. Those fuckers destroyed my woods to build that thing.
RIP a great collection of 80's woods porn.

Born and raised in the Flint area (Mt. Morris Twp. for the first 10 years, then the west side of the city for the next 20.) Moved to the metro Detroit area in 1991 to be closer to my old job downtown: first to Garden City (horrible mistake), then Ferndale, and now Plymouth.

Born in Munich. Grew up in Flint, live in Flushing now.

Where in Flint? I taught in Flushing's Adult Education program in 1986-87. English Grammar and American History (Civil War). And I have ancestors who sailed from Bremerhaven in the 1880's.
Amazing - the connections you can find between people without even trying.

Home to the 1959 Little League World Series champions. The only city in the state to be able to make that claim.
Welll, actually, as they only crown one LLWS champion per year, you're right, only one city can make the claim they won it in 1959. (snicker)
February 11th, 2020 at 10:26 PM ^
Thinking Grosse Pointe team made it to the final series recently and came up short. Also not sure of the make up of little league teams today, more regional rosters. Pretty sure Hamtramck roster in 1959 were all local residents.
