Updates on Injured Players for Tonight?
Some of the guys in the know (Umbig/Ghost), did the below make the trip to PSU? Usually road games tell you who is available to play and not based off limiting numbers of guys who can dress/travel. Please add if I miss some. We need all the guys we can, some big names below. Maybe Shea was left in AA? A fan can only hope.
Collins
Paye
L. Hill
Ross
McCaffrey (no set backs)
McKeon (no set backs)

Most important is kwity and lavert. Need those guys bad. Would be nice if Ross can play but there's been nothing on him..
October 19th, 2019 at 2:48 PM ^
Getting Ross back would actually be HUGE IMO. Gives us a viable replacement for Glasgow if his lack of athleticism/coverage is attacked by PSU the way Rutgers attacked with Blackshear. Moving Ross to WLB (where he played last year) would theoretically be a better matchup in that scenario.

Setback https://bradwilson.io/games/setback.html is a very underrated card game.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:38 PM ^
Collins slight ankle/sick. Can play
Paye can play
L. Hill Hip pointer can play
Ross ankle/foot questionable, but doubt he plays
McCaffrey (no set backs) practiced/available
McKeon (no set backs) ready 85 %

At this point I'd rather Gattis be left in A2 and JH run the offense
October 19th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
Is Collins injury/sickness enough to hamper him if he plays? Or is he basically full go?
October 19th, 2019 at 12:45 PM ^
Gahhh would it be nice to have McGrone and Ross on the field at the same time.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:45 PM ^
Thank you Umbig! Curious your thoughts, if Shea struggles you see JH going to DM? Or we at a point where he’s 100% ride or die with Shea?
October 19th, 2019 at 3:18 PM ^
Sadly, you already know the answer to this question. And it's not the one you want.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
I can’t believe I am agreeing with you. I thought the offense last year wasn’t so bad minus the predictable runs on first and second down. If JH could forget about winning time of possession, his offense would at least be “ok” and maybe a little above that. It sucks that it feels like we have to settle, but it is what it is.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:58 PM ^
I think the biggest issues with Harbaugh’s offense is the game clock issues and not putting athletes in ideal situations. Offense was fine but if we went up against a team that could also score in bunches, we had no chance. We were hoping that a change would take advantage of our skill position players. I don’t fault him for making a change. I think it was necessary. Looks like we just hired the wrong coordinator. If we kept Pep, do we beat Wisconsin or beat OSU down the road? I think it’s a no for both. Keeping him we’d be better than what we are now, but not as good as what we’d want to be.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:16 PM ^
Question without checking your history. Didn’t you want Pep fired also? Because if so, how do you justify after 6 games our OC deserves to be fired? Do you KNOW or have any clue as to why he’s been handed the keys, but the car only has a fob?
October 19th, 2019 at 1:32 PM ^
I wanted us to move on from Pep, but never said I’d fire Gattis. But I am questioning his implementation of the offense this offseason. Lots of other top end schools change coordinators and don’t deal with what we’ve dealt with this year.
October 19th, 2019 at 5:40 PM ^
Patterson has played like ass. No offense will look good with the QB playing as poorly as he has.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:56 PM ^
I really wonder how much of the offensive struggles have been related to fumbles. Which most will agree, fumbles are more based on luck than anything else.
in addition to literally ending the drive every time you lose a fumble, what are the mental implications that fumbling the ball (whether we lose the fumble or not) have on a player? You’d think it makes a player lose some confidence. It makes them over-compensate on ball security. Play tight instead of let loose, too much thinking instead of just playing.
what impact has that had on the offense’s success? There’s rarely been a time when you’ve had to really question the play call, so I don’t put too much of the blame on Gattis. Mostly, the team just doesn’t look comfortable. Now you can blame Gattis for a bit of that if you want, but I’d be inclined to say 19 fumbles has played a significant part as well.

Any word on if Shea’s deep ball is healthy and will see the field?
-this was for Umbig11

Jim doesn't get paid enough to coach the offense and . . . do whatever else it is he does to earn $8M per year.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:10 PM ^
Apparently you can't reply to UMBig's post, but thanks for the update sir!
October 19th, 2019 at 2:18 PM ^
Really, because I'm pretty sure you were one of the loudest voices asking for a change. Whether its Fisch, Drevno, Pep, or Gattis, it all falls on the head man.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:43 PM ^
If the offense shits the bed again, Gattis could get a Kiffen: "Sorry, no ticket for you on the flight home. Enjoy the tarmac."
October 19th, 2019 at 3:08 PM ^
Really appreciate this post. It’s informative and specific. Thank you. Also glad it’s mostly positive.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Thank you!
October 19th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
DM will play some today.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:13 PM ^
Oh he brought his PS4 with him?
October 19th, 2019 at 1:59 PM ^
As long as someone who can throw the ball further than 10 yds suits up I could care less who it is.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:06 PM ^
You'll be glad to know Milton did make the trip.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
Couldn't care less.
October 19th, 2019 at 12:44 PM ^
Please throw the ball deep to our very large, very athletic, very jumpy wide receivers.
October 19th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Shea will need the OL to give him time against the Tampa Two or cover two. I really think the play of Mayfield is challenging big Mike. If we get him to flip the switch he can be a road grader in the run game. And Ruiz needs a big game against 54. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

This board is funny. I got negged for -5 points for asking a question all should want to know. This subject got Umbig to weigh in with updates.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:27 PM ^
Don't take it personal. Everyone is just nervous for tonight
October 19th, 2019 at 1:30 PM ^
I just negged you again, I mean the post was fine, kind of the like the 6 year old on Christmas waking up at 4am. But hey we’ve all been there.
but the post about getting negged, not a good look brother.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:42 PM ^
I negged you for taking an unnecessary shot at the QB.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:52 PM ^
Why? Shea is no good. DM is better for this team and will keep saying it. Also, if DM plays in meaningful snaps for multiple series and isn’t better? I will gladly admit to this blog/world I was wrong.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
It wasn't about being right or wrong, it had nothing to do with your post. Thus unnecessary.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:20 PM ^
That’s the whole thing. DMac hasn’t played any meaningful snaps since ND last year. He got a first down and ever since he has been the savior.
You say if DMac plays in any meaningful snaps and looks just as bad you’ll concede. The same holds true for a lot of us as well, except we want to see him clearly play better than Patterson in meaningful snaps before we anoint him anything
October 19th, 2019 at 2:07 PM ^
Was surprised too to see your post get negged.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:08 PM ^
I negged you because I think people who take mean-spirited shots at college kids who play for our team are dicks.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
I negged the OP because crying about getting negged is lame.
October 19th, 2019 at 2:40 PM ^
I should neg you for caring about points on this board, but I don’t care enough
October 19th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
I appreciate your post...
October 19th, 2019 at 1:34 PM ^
I'm wondering about this as well as the line is now PSU -7.5, down from -9.
Did they lose someone or is this a result of key M players back for this game?
October 19th, 2019 at 1:38 PM ^
This is just a reaction to the money that came in on Michigan this morning and last night.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:42 PM ^
I’m out 5 bills if we don’t win. I was half tanked when I placed the bet so to late now. Never drink and gamble.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
$5? Too rich for my blood.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
Gotcha, 9 was a lot of points. Now it's settled into the original spread.
October 19th, 2019 at 1:40 PM ^
More likely that people were taking Michigan
October 19th, 2019 at 1:41 PM ^
2017 Mcsorley basically bombed it deep when Saquan wasn’t running wild. I’m sure Gattis has that in the plan, hopefully Shea doesn’t shit himself in 2 seconds and airs it out.
