It amazes me how often coaches go for two instead of kicking the PAT. In the third quarter or prior, you simply do not go for two, especially if you’re winning. It’s pure stupidity.

I agree. There was an academic paper published a few years ago that looked at a sample size of thousands of plays that unequivocally proved your point. Never chase the points unless you're in absolute need.

It’s just nuts to me. My comment stemmed from the MD game. Temple scored to take the lead in the middle of the third. The six points put them up 13-9. They went for two and missed. I know the coach was thinking “let’s go for two to be ahead by six instead of five.” No, idiot. Take the extra point.

Cincinnati was 11-2 last year and was ranked #36 in the country on Defense by S&P.   They gave up 14 points to UCLA and through 2.5+ quarters have given up 10 points to Miami (OH).

It seems more likely that OSU hung 42 points on them because they are really good on offense than it does that Cincinnati's defense "doesn't have a pulse".

Thank you for understanding. I can tell you that OSU does not give a fuck about their defense. They know they can simply out score most of their opponents and at least hang with the likes of Alabama and Clemson. Must be really nice. The days of playing strong defense and winning with are gone. Today’s football is about scoring a lot of points.

"This is finally Michigans season to win the Big Ten East" said every college football analyst.

Ohio State: "LOL"

Well, this is the first glimpse I've had of Brandon Peters in an Illinois uniform . . . and he looks like basically the same player he was at Michigan.   Still extremely erratic from down to down.

He was decent the first two games of the year.  I know there's this narrative that he has always been garbage, but he was a steady player on a team with limited talent and some upheaval on the coaching side.  He's certainly a better QB than anyone they had last year.

Peters throws a pick. Announcer says it was a great throw by Peters and not his fault. The ball was 2 feet behind the receiver when it need to be 2 foot in front of him. Idk what these guys see sometimes.

PSU and Maryland pretenders.

Indiana sucks this year.

OSU much improved on defense and Fields is the real deal.  We will need to be hitting on all cylinders to beat OSU.

Chris Creighton is a really impressive coach.  His record (23-41 at EMU) does not do him justice considering what a brutally difficult job EMU is.  Luckily for them, that record might scare off other programs and keep him there a bit longer.
