WHAT. THE. FUCK.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
Fuck N A! Damn it. Where did this come from? Are they throwing money? Sluts? What?! Damn it!
December 8th, 2018 at 7:28 PM ^
2 things:
1) Was Michigan? He was a high quality young man yesterday, so no call to accuse him of not being one today!
2) Confirmed: Basketball school!
December 8th, 2018 at 7:37 PM ^
Yup lol. Just when the basketball team was making all us feel good, football had to bring us back down to earth
December 8th, 2018 at 7:39 PM ^
Basketball school haha. Crisler had empty seats all over the place today. Lower bowl above the Maize Rage 1/2 full maybe a little more. At tipoff the three sections above the band were mostly empty. This for a noon tip on a Saturday. This team deserves much better support than it is getting.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:44 PM ^
Look at the facts. Over the last 10+ years, we have been a basketball school. We also just got embarrassed on national TV. Not shocked by this decision.
December 8th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
When the football recruit flip thread gets five times the replies as the 10-0 bball posbang thread, it's not a basketball school.
December 9th, 2018 at 8:28 AM ^
truth....
December 8th, 2018 at 8:35 PM ^
I was there. This is totally false.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:36 PM ^
I hear ya, but isn't it finals week?
December 9th, 2018 at 9:26 AM ^
It is Finals week, but it was still a sell out and the atmosphere was excellent. Even Frank Martin praised the fans and the whole arena experience.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Stop with the B.B. school that’s for programs that have no football program and never really did like Kansas and Kentucky. But wow going to Alabama go figure there something new. Wonder how many more times we can see Alabama play Clemson in the NC game. Yawn.
December 8th, 2018 at 9:09 PM ^
The Hills are a smart family. I wouldn't be surprised if he flips back.
Hell there's a good chance Saban will be dead by the time Hill graduates. Guy is geriatric and he can't hide it anymore. Plus he has only been a good coach when he has overwhelming talent. Looks at his failures in the NFL and at MSU.
December 8th, 2018 at 9:12 PM ^
This whole post is stupid.
I’m wondering if this is supposed to be a parody of a Michigan fan who can’t face reality.
December 8th, 2018 at 9:38 PM ^
Everyone now days is saying that Saban and Meyer are two of the best coaches of all time in college football. Are they really now? Have they ever really done more with less? Yeah Urban did well at Florida but was the SEC anything back then? Fuck no it wasn't. Look at the talent he had and could get down there. All those southern folks think about is football and their cousin of the opposite or sometimes same sex. I mean come on here. Saban and Meyer have been getting the top kids in the country and had top recruiting classes for how many fucking years? Don't tell me they are great coaches. They are the greatest recruiters of their era though. I'll give them that.
December 9th, 2018 at 12:33 AM ^
As far as Meyer, he did well at Utah, 10-2 first season, 12-0 second. Utah didn't play the most demanding schedule during that time, but he pretty much won with someone else's players.
I'd give the edge to Meyer; ultimately you have to have the players to win combined with good coaching. Saban couldn't consistently get enough good players to MSU. Dantonio couldn't either, even when M was down.
Harbaugh is going to have to figure out how to get it done with Top 10 classes. We might have to accept 10-win seasons as good enough.
December 9th, 2018 at 9:12 AM ^
Just to play devils advocate to your post, Meyer took over a 6-7 team and went 12-0 the following year, before he got his guys in
December 9th, 2018 at 10:55 AM ^
Meyer inherited a team that was loaded with 4 and 5 star talent. They had won the Big 10 5 out of 6 years. The amazing thing is how back Sandler (Fickell) was.
December 9th, 2018 at 11:11 AM ^
"Basketball school"? John Beilein and the men's basketball team might be putting even more pressure on Carol Hutchins to get the softball team back to the Women's College World Series.
December 9th, 2018 at 11:32 AM ^
completely overrated. Let her beat Florida, then the team might be relevant again.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
It's ok to be disappointed about losing a recruit but maybe you could leave off the calling women sluts part next time?
December 8th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
They’re winning all of their games.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:28 PM ^
Why are you surprised? After the team shat the bed in the worst loss in the Game in decades we were bound to lose some top recruits.
Too many people bury their heads in the sand around d here.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:01 PM ^
But, but...LoSiNg BiG gAmEs WoN’t HuRt ReCrUiTiNg!
............
December 8th, 2018 at 9:06 PM ^
JH had a 5 star QB with 4 & 5 star WRs all over the place. He chose to barely use them.
December 8th, 2018 at 10:54 PM ^
Not to mention the fact that he has a "passing game coordinator" who gets paid $1 M per year, to coordinate about a dozen or so passes per Saturday.
December 8th, 2018 at 11:02 PM ^
Yeah, but, the one recruit Pep brings in a year isn't just going to recruit himself haha
December 8th, 2018 at 10:11 PM ^
But people on this blog told me winning 10 games was a big deal. Quick, someone tell Dax!! /s
December 8th, 2018 at 8:19 PM ^
Yeah, but if a lot of things went differently the game would have basically been close.
December 9th, 2018 at 9:03 AM ^
Truer words have never been written.
December 8th, 2018 at 10:53 PM ^
Yes, unfortunately we gave him 62 good reasons to flip his commitment. If we had lost 13 - 21, that is different story, but getting jail-sexed by your biggest "rival" for now 7 straight years, not a good look.
December 9th, 2018 at 12:38 AM ^
Was it that, or was it the 'Harbaugh to the NFL' rumors that always crop up near signing day? Every damn year it's the same thing.
The sad irony is the fact that Saban bombed in the NFL insulates him from those kinds of rumors. Harbaugh coached in the Superbowl and had NFL success, therefore everyone believes it's inevitable he will go back, cuz NFL.
December 9th, 2018 at 2:54 PM ^
Agreed, I don't know why anyone would be surprised. Hill was gone the moment we got embarrassed in Columbus. They might've flipped him anyway, unless we did well in the playoff. If Alabama wants our 4 or 5 star commits, we're in trouble. Period. Let's see, I could go to Alabama and go to the National Championship game every year, or go to a school that never even plays in their Conference Championship game. Real tough choice.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:39 PM ^
my nuts cant stand anymore kickings
December 8th, 2018 at 8:52 PM ^
WTF?
Watching Michigan's defense against Ohio St.will do this. Let's not kid ourselves.
December 8th, 2018 at 6:57 PM ^
Well, that blows.
December 8th, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^
I get it. Can’t fault a kid for picking Bama. That said at some point I would have thought their sustained level of recruiting would backfire. When you have a roster full of 5 stars at every position three and four deep, don’t some of those kids want to go somewhere they can play all three years? Yeah championships and all that but it seems like every kid we lose to Bama has 1.5 years of actual playing time and moves on. Would think we’d get a couple kids a year who just look at the roster there and say fuck it I’ll go play three years and start from day one? I dunno. I’m just not 18 and getting recruited by Bama so I have no idea what it’s like. Sucks. Dax woulda been a great player for us. Good luck to the kid. Hope we at least knew this was coming and had a plan. Something tells me we did not.
December 8th, 2018 at 11:40 PM ^
I wonder the same thing. We have guys playing playing second and third string that were highly recruited out of high school, maybe top 300 types, that choose to go elsewhere when they know they won't see the field. Alabama has the same guys, probably higher ranked overall, that sit and rot on the bench for 4 and 5 years, yet stay. I guess winning is infectious and alters your state of mind.
December 9th, 2018 at 9:10 AM ^
I guess kids like to win
December 9th, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
I agree, you'd think given playing time and talent in front of players, that it would backfire and at least there would be some transfers, but when you're getting those Bama benefits, I guess there's not much incentive to leave
December 9th, 2018 at 12:48 AM ^
Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing this season after Hudson announced his transfer, meanwhile Hurt is celebrated for sticking around when he could have bolted and started somewhere else.
I wonder what these Bama kids are being told that keep them in place. Ultimately, most P5 teams offer the kind of coaching and exposure that will prepare a player for the NFL if they have the ability to get there.
December 9th, 2018 at 9:09 AM ^
The spin Alabama uses is that
1. You will get drafted to the league.
2. You will have fewer miles on your body when you get there, which also means less likelihood of injury. This is especially effective on players like running backs.
December 9th, 2018 at 8:14 PM ^
3. You will be paid well , while you are here .
December 8th, 2018 at 6:57 PM ^
Well... I’m going to go pound whiskey after whiskey until I pass out. See you all in the morning... maybe
December 8th, 2018 at 6:57 PM ^
Everything sucks.
December 8th, 2018 at 6:57 PM ^
Oof that stings
December 8th, 2018 at 6:58 PM ^
Maybe shouldn't have let OSU put up 62.
December 8th, 2018 at 7:19 PM ^
People down vote what hurts...
