I was of your opinion until I read the amount positive attribution given to Sen. McCain.  He deserves to be positively remembered for what he suffered through in Vietnam. His politics were deadly and destructive, and his legacy should reflect that.

Snopes, really?...Try reading an article by Paul Craig Roberts, Institute of Political Economy. Plenty of evidence that he actively made propaganda tapes that were played over the loudspeaker to real POW's....Also should note, his father was in charge of the investigation that covered up the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty..My sources are credentialed professors, lecturers and pulitzer prize winning journalists...and yours are snopes, a biased website founded by a guy who left his wife for a prostitute.

1) he cheated on his wife.  Which I guess could be a moral failure depending on the situation and your opinions.*

2) he was involved in the Keating 5 which, by the way, he was cleared for by the Senate Ethics Committee 

3) you dislike his politics, which is merely a matter of personal opinion

*most morals are purely matter of opinion and personal beliefs.  Your morals aren’t mine, and yours aren’t “right” or “more correct” than mine.

No..sorry...what the Donald Trump and the Republican party advocate and what John McCain supports are not "opinions" that reasonable people can disagree on. There are cultures and religions where having numerous wives and/or sex outside of your marriage isn’t a big deal.  Also, I can think of plenty of situations where cheating on a spouse isn’t a moral failure.

Voting for Sessions was a political decision. Everyone in politics is tainted because they all have to make similar decisions.

He picked Palin which he later regretted doing to try to offset Obama being a minority. Again, it was political decision.

John McCain was a flawed man. He admitted that. But he also served this country honorably winning respect on both sides of the aisle.

And you still can't answer the question of how someone qualifies as "honorable" in your fucked-up view of the world, and I doubt you can.  Death has nothing to do with honorable behavior.  Dying doesn't change the moral character of your behavior when you were alive.  Barack Obama never cheated on his wife and never would.  I consider that far more honorable than McCain's sleazebag behavior.

Chose Cal over UM .... academics in my field were better at Cal than UM.  But born and raised in AA and spent most my youth on or around campus.  My father has worked on campus for decades.

Actively campaigned on behalf of his 2008 opponent and yet I would say he's still a personal hero of mine. He's one of the last (maybe THE last) who didn't view politics as pure bloodsport. You don't have to be a perfect man to be honorable, and he was. The man stayed in prison for years longer than he could have rather than be used as propaganda and jump the line ahead of prisoners who had been there longer. 

America is the less tonight.
