Love it. I graduated high school with him last year, couldn't happen to a nicer and more down-to-earth kid. Success won't get to his head, I can guarantee that.

Worth mentioning that Adam Coon is a true freshman and still undefeated on the season. Not only was the meet riding on his match, but he was going up against two time defending heavyweight NCAA champ Tony Nelson. HUGE win for Coon and Michigan.
It's still very early in his career, but Coon has a chance to be something special. Also enrolled in the College of Engineering with hopes of becoming an astronaut. Proud to have him representing Michigan.

Grajales is wrestling tough against top tier opponents this year. Now he needs to do it against kids he should beat. He seems to take those matches off a lot. But he's now beaten two #1's and a #2.
And Murphy, coming out of an expected redshirt beats an AA who I believe placed second last year.
Coon is unreal. What stud. But I hate to say it, is somewhat expected. He was that good in high school.
The future is so bright for Michigan wrestling with more studs redshirting this year and couple more coming in next year. They will contend for a Big Ten title and National title in the years to come. And they just proved why.

Michigan should be in the National title hunt a lot more than they have been. Michigan is a very strong wrestling state. The coaches have missed out on some in state wrestlers that have beaten Michigan guys this year. They missed on the Morse brothers and Gabe Dean from Lowell.
Hopefully they can build off this match and continue to improve. The future could be very bright.

Kyle Dake 4x champ
Brent Metcalf 2x champ
Plus several multi AA
But recently they've kept in state Coon, Hall, Massa's, Whitford. Each of them should be multi AA. Their wrestling center is paying dividends.

I knew he was from Lansing. But I thought it was east Lansing. Should have looked it up.
Thought of another Cornell wreslter from Michigan. Cam Simaz. 4x AA, 1x NCAA champ.
Roger Kish went to Minnesota was from Lapeer, Michigan. Another multi AA and got 2nd twice.
Michigan is a very good wrestling state. But New York then Ohio top out AA's at the NCAA every year.

I was really down on this team for the past few seasons and even the beginning of this season to be honest, but damn, they have really turned it up...
I attended the Stanford dual meet earlier in the season, and they seemed to really lack to fire of the teams that had the Churella's, Bertin, Tannenbaum, Luke, etc...
Wow, how a month has changed this team...
The youth is improving at an incredible rate, and I am thrilled for the future...
Abounader is another kid who I am really excited to see wrestle in the future.
Also, Massa will be in the lineup next year...
