2014 BCS National Championship Open Thread

Last one, heald in the Grand Daddy of them all!

Florida State is favored by 13 on a neutral field, by some ESPN bottom line metric.  Will Jameis Winston with the Heisman and MNC and end the SEC's run of 6 straight?

Auburn is the self-proclaimed team of destiny.  Will they have one more miracle tonight?

Line: FSU - 10.5

Over/Under: 67.5

SLIGHT MOD EDIT - Not really OT for our purposes. We'll make this the open thread. - LSA

Are they though?  I agree their top teams are (and the 7 straight titles is very impressive) but with how Texas A&M and Mizzou can come in and really compete, for some reason that indicates (to me) that they may be somewhat overhyped.  Obviously their top 4 teams are excellent though, not arguing that.

I'm so envious of auburn having a coach that actually analyzes the game and processes what's happening in order to gain done sort of tactical advantage during the game. Hoke literally brings nothing to the table besides being a glorified cheerleader. So disheartening.

DG is/was a good QB. He has the potential to be great. However, he lacks the gameplan behind his skill set along with the confidence due to being destroyed every time he tries to pass due to horrible offensive line development. The athletes are there, but the execution (lolz) isn't. But hey, at least Hoke calls OSU "Ohio" and wears t-shirts when it's cold out.

FSU started slow against Duke as well.  The more looks Winston gets at the Auburn D the better he will be.  They won't be starting every drive at the 2.

A couple of screen passes will fix that.  You can't blitz all game like Auburn is doing.  You will tire out your line and you are bound to get burnt.

Auburn's basic strategy so far is to blitiz.  That will work for a quarter, but the offense will adjust and make the defense pay.
