Urban Meyer snitches on UF for recruiting violations
what a likeable guy
for references to The Wire.
Here's my #1 recruiting class:
QB: Avon Barksdale, 4-star; dual threat with high football IQ
RB: Bodie Broadus: 3-star; unheralded by the services, but has the grit, has the hunger
WR: Cedric Daniels: 5-star: jump-ball threat with 4.0 GPA
WR: Lester Freamon: 4-star: wily technician who is full of surprises
OC: Jay Landsman: 4-star: already college size at over 300 lbs., lo pad-level
OT: Bunny Colvin: 4-star: unorthodox, but gets the job done
NT: Proposition Joe Stewart: 4-star; massive 2-gap run defender
DE: Cutty WIse; 3-star; fearsome war daddy but possible academic risk
SLB: Omar; 5-star; fearless destroyer
MLB: Stringer Bell: 5-star; natural leader, feels nothing
S: Brother Muzzone; 5-star; vicious hitter with outstanding play recognition
CB: Roland "Wee-Bey" Bruce: 4-star; fluid athlete with short memory
No way Brother Muzzone is a 5*!!
I really wanted the elusive 4* scat-back Kenard. Oh well, can't win them all! I wish him the best where ever he goes, except when he plays us!!!
Miles likes his chest.
Give me Marlo over Brother Muzzone at Safety
I've always thought of Barksdale as a Pro-style QB: real gunslinger, prefers to stay in pocket. But I hear he might have a real challenge this season holding of unheralded recruit, Marlow Stanfield.
Also forgot G: "Bunk" Westmoreland: Built low to the ground, good with leverage. His motto is "to protect and serve" his QB. Possible drinking problem.
CB: Poot Carr: middling 3-star, late offer who flipped from a lesser Big 10 school. Prototype Cass Tech diminutive CB
MLB: Kima Greggs: high 4-star, Great instincts, strong as a bull
FS: Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins: 3-star, great understanding of the game, crafty
/s in case
And we've gone straight back to 3rd grade
Just ask Aaron Hernandez.
"Urban Meyer's will to win burns with such competitive fire that he won't allow anyone to stand in his way on the recruiting trail."
I would rather it come in the form of a 1-10 record vs. Michigan over Urban's term and Michigan winning 10 consecutive B1G and MNCs.
"All their fans should get bedbugs."
Too late.
He didn't mention lack of dental hygiene (or hygiene in general) or low IQs. All redundant.
I don't have a problem with a coach "ratting" out his former team as I don't feel you have an obligation to ignore rule breaking by anyone. The real issue here is that Urbz is well known to utilize this little tactic himself. It's the blatant hypocrisy that bothers me.
I agree that in this day and age of the NCAA, you can't ignore rule breaking. But this is certainly not a good look (espeically when they found that no rules were broken). Urban (and all OSU fans) got pretty offended when Bert made false allegations about breaking recruiting rules a couple years ago.
I mean is that fan base really going to stand up and pound their chests and say they are moral and just now because Urban did this? Wow
The point isn't: "Oh, look at us. We follow the rules now!" I hope Urban and OSU reported this because they know that they are a program on thin ice and they cannot afford to get in trouble again. I mean, if they thought a rule was broken and they did not report it and the media finds out that they knew about it, of course they will attack OSU for not doing so. Hopefully this is just OSU covering their own backside and not the immature recruiting tactic that the author insinuates that it is.
So if Rich Rodriguez called the NCAA with an allegation that Michigan had committed a recruiting violation—no matter how slight or insignificant—you're OK with that.
Yeah right.
Yes, I would be fine with RR or any past UM coach reporting a violation committed by UM. If UM was cheating then they would deserve to get caught regardless who reported them. You can choose to disbelieve that assertion all you want but it doesn't make it any less true.
I'm a little disappointed in you, Don, you are usually better than this.
when is Don better than this?
just wondering...
I'm not saying, I'm just saying...
I'm not a jackass but...
jdon
Sez the guy whose avatar reads "Prepare Thy Anus"
Was this one:
Meyer is not overrated by anymeans! look at Ohio State before he got there. they were trash. bottom of the big10. they get a no bowl ban and he takes 95% of the team that was still there the previous year with NO BOWL chance and takes them to not lossing a game! please!!!! is he the best coach in college mmmmmm probley not, but he is for sure not overrated!!!
Well said, internet.
I'm not even willing to rule out the possibility that that guy is an Ohio fan.
"not lossing a game..."
Yes, Ohio fan without a doubt.
I think there's a big difference in not self-reporting your own wrong-doings and reporting another school. OSU was "jammed" for not reporting their own problems.
