Chase Winovich Visit Reaction (Paywalled)
Tom VanHaaren sent out a reaction from Chase on his visit. Some quotes I loved
"I couldn't find a bad thing about it, either. I looked but couldn't find it." (talking about the day of a player)
"I'd like to make a decision the weekend after my visit to Pitt, whenever that happens,"
"I got to ride around on scooters with Jake Ryan and Taylor Lewan, which was fun," (scooters instead of his twosie?

We'll see how our recruitment with him goes and how that pans out with Watson in the mix as well. If we get either we get a quality guy :)
Go Blue!
How could you not commit on the spot?
If it were the twosie, he would have. Why, Taylor, why?!
A bunch of football players have been riding around campus on scooters for months. It started maybe a month before Taylor said something to the media about not riding the twosie anymore. I think I asked if anybody knew where they'd all gotten them here at least once but I never got a response.
From what I've heard on the Scout boards (via Sam Webb), it's looking like things have taken a big turn with Watson. Webb said he would be surprised to see him in this class now. Let's hope that things work out with Chase!
The guy who basically said he would commit next time he came to A2? Sounds like the coaches might've told him he's not in the cards anymore
Care to elaborate?
It looks like the coaches decided they don't really need another MIKE (especially an undersized MIKE like Watson), so they decided to cool on him and start recruiting others (like Winovich and Furbush) harder.
Give it time; you will get to a “plus-sized” Mike soon enough. /s
I really like the potential of Winovich and that he projects to SLB. Hope he decides on Michigan.
Nice catch.
But damn you, now I can't edit.
SLB = Position of Need
MIKE/WILL = Not a Position of Need
I just forgot to say that I was talking about SLB vs. WLB/MLB or ILB (which in my mind means both positions).
I think hearing that Jake MotherFucking Ryan is riding around on a scooter is great news. Rehab must be going well. Fingers crossed.
I was thinking the exact same thing about JMFR.
Any word on how the rehab is going on his FLOW?
then again, we have been how accurate those can be from MGoBlog's front page...
Lawrence Marshall to MSU. And look how that turned out.

Your head.
There really isn't a reason NOT to be an ESPN insider. I'm paying less than $4/year for it. The content isn't worth the full price tag, but I'll gladly pay $4/year to read what Tom VH has to say.
Couldn't agree more. I purchased 3 years of the Mag/INsider for a whopping 10 dollars on discountmags.com..I rarely open the magazine but seeing as how 90% of the articles are INsider, it's definitely worth it.
Where do you find a deal like that for the Insider? Sorry, I signed up in the past for deals but they've all expired and just wondering where people are finding renewal deals for ESPN.
You can sign up with discount mags for daily specials. When the espn one comes up you can jump on it and take yourself off the list. I believe I got 3 or 4 years for about $12.
on or immediately after the visit. Should be interesting how the LB in this class shake out
Obviously their Escalades and Navigators are garaged for now, and the scooters are just for show. I mean, Hoke HAS TO BE giving these guys cash and cars, right? How else can beating Sparty for recruits be explained? #spartysleuthing
Like Winovich had to drop this weekend in order for it to happen.. With him waiting til after the Pitt visit I feel like he still is a bit of an OSU lean. Stranger things have happened though, Ferns wrapped up Lawrence Marshall pretty quick.. along with the help of Mo Ways. Like I said still think he ends up at OSU but with this great group of kids, anything is possible.
Is Watson still scheduled to visit soon and does he still have an offer? If the coaches are cooling on him what would happen if he tried to commit?
if he visits as scheduled, the coaches will take his commitment.
Unless Meyer gave him a commitable OSU offer.
I think Winovich will eventually wind up in the Maize and Blue.
According to a new post on The M Block, the coaches basically told Winovich they will still have a spot for him even if Watson commits:
"This was a little bit ago but they told me that they would probably only take one more...but then said, 'Dang, we should take two.'" You know, because of how the linebacker situation is, so take two more, as in three total. But they never said one word to me like, 'If you don't come here now that spot's not going to be open.' So I assume that I'd still have that spot whether he (Kyron Watson) commits or not. You know, if I'm not important enough to them where they're willing to wait for me, then I don't want to go there. I can't control what other people do. I can only control what I can control. From what I understand they want him more as an inside guy so that wouldn't really make a difference."
They must be assuming a class much bigger than 15.
