It was one year ago from today....
That Shane Morris made his commitment to Michigan and became the first member of the class of 2013. I know we all have high expectations for him on the field, but the impact he has made off the field has been remarkable.
Here's to Team 134
That means we are behind in our 2014 recruiting.
Yeah, what is Malik McDowell waiting for?!?
/s
Seriously, from the interview with Chantel, I got the impression he's waiting for his dad to let him commit.
He said his Dad would not let him commit until he is a Jr. That seems to be the only thing holding him back.
Can't really disagree with that to be honest. I think it's only a matter of time, although I haven't talked to Malik in a little bit.
I get the most excited when mountain devouring defensive linemen like BWC and Big Pip commit. My definition of manball starts with the D line moreso than the O line, but that's just me. I'm pretty sure Malik will be my favorite commit for 2014 if we get him.
I hope all this over excitement don't bite us on the ass! Anyways, heres to the future!!!
Wow, he's been committed for an entire year and he is still a junior in high school.
The fact that it's Shane's 1-year anniversary got me thinking about our 2nd commit for the class. Haven't heard much about Dymonte Thomas re: camps, workouts, etc. Anyone know why that is?
Otherwise, I'm curious too... I shouldn't be but I am. He's an Ohio kid and most of the state's top talent has been in attendance at some camp or another at least once a month.
He plays baseball at his high school too. I'd imagine that has a lot to do with it.
...A true Michigan Man.
One of the best photobombs of all time...who are the three other guys in the pic?
Cam Burrows, Jalin Marshall and Jayme Thompson I believe.
Bozos
And Happy Shaneiversary to all!
A new recruiting holiday for the rest of us. Now go to the crawlspace and get the pole.
The fact we are celebrating the one year anniversary of the commitment for a recruit who hasn't played a down yet and won't likely for another 2.3 years is lame.
So, I'm ready......flame away. You can start by making fun of my weight, age, and lack of twitter use.....oh, and my low MGoPoints total.
You're so fat you have to wash yourself with a rag on a stick.
You're so old, you think a hashtag is a label designating the quality of a controlled substance.
Here I thought they were trying to comment something out. This explains much.
Most of us are just having some fun with a recruite we are excited to see down the road. We understand he has not done anything and it will be a while before he contributes.
That being said he has had his hand in brining in several commits and is part of the early success that is attracting more attention to Michigan. The coaching staff and last years team has a lot to do with the turn around that they experienced on the field and Shane and the early commits are having a similar affect on recruiting.
So... Happy Shaniverary to all.
Your mother was a hampster and your father smelt of elderberries!
Well....you couldn't smooth a silk sheet if you had a hot date with a dame......

....lost my train of thought.....
There is honestly nothing cooler than the "you guys care about recruiting way too much and I care about it less than you" guy.
I was into recruiting before it was cool. Like back in the 90's. Now its mainstream and I don't like it.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to Applebee's to drink PBR ultra-ironically.
Does the PBR from Applebee's give you diarrhea like everything else they serve?
Look at my avater. I can't tell what does and doesn't give me diarrea.
Too few points for a thread, somebody may want to make a post linking to a pretty darn good piece on Marcus Ray, Chuck's partner in secondary crime back in the national championship season. Granted it is a freep/Snyder piece, but this one is actually really inspirational.
Freep links are triggering spam filters, lol. so I can't post the link (guessing because I have negative points because I did see another freep link a few days ago). It's really easy to find on the sports page though and I'm thinking quite a few fans will appreciate hearing how Ray is doing.. Maybe the coolest thing in the column from my standpoint was how Lloyd really was a big factor in helping Marcus, many years after he was gone from the program..
Whoever downvoted this must have serious problems. A positive story on one of our own beating a serious illness should be something mgobloggers should know about, and if I can't start a topic, placing it in another thread is what will have to happen.
how does one get negative 10,000 mgopoints?
One makes a bad decision.
...how someone negs a thread celebrating the committment of our future star(hopefully) QB?
Because I don't want to annoint a junior in high school as the next coming of christ. I'm excited to see him too, but I'm sure he reads this blog and don't think he needs to see that he's already been annointed as king and doesn't have anything to prove.
Fair enough. I didn't upvote the OP myself, but at the same time, thought anyone negging this had to be trolling (as there are a few on here that will go around negging every single post for no reason). I repect your decision to neg.
I'm very happy this blog hadn't been born prior to Drew Henson's commitment - even though he was an above average B1G QB, he didn't come close to meeting his hype coming out of Brighton HS. I am praying that Shane can live up to his billing, otherwise he's going to be in for a lot of crap from people that he isn't going to deserve. In that event, I recommend folks blame the recruiting services or, even better, themselves, for convincing themselves a HS junior was a sure fire lock to be Michigan's next great QB.
not only did henson never live up to his hype, but he was so overhyped amongst fans that motherfucking Tom Brady didn't even get all the snaps to himself in his senior year.
There is literally no way Shane doesn't live up to his expectations. In fact, he'll win the Heisman and people will still be saying he's underrated.
Let's ask Beano Cook and Ron Powlus.
Oh, Shane will be as good as Pawlus. In fact, I bet he wins as many Heismans as Pawlus and Clausen combined.
503 Gateway Timout Double Post - my first ever!!!
Sure, orobs: why on earth would we want someone who has already done so much for Michigan football to think we actually appreciate what he has done. That would be soooo uncool.
...that Brady Hoke taught the team to play
1 year ago today our next championship was conceived.
