MOAR OT: Whatcha all working on/doing this afternoon?
Some of you enjoyed this thread last Friday so I figured I'd strike it up again today.
I'm not going to do a damn thing for the rest of the day. The majority of my business people are at the Wells Fargo Championshio down here at Quail Hollow (which is a beautiful course, by the way) and I'm stuck here. So I've decided to take a flier for the rest of the day. My plan is to:
1. Do some research on YouTube to become a better Battlefield 3 multiplayer. There is a staggering number of videos and I intend to spend a good 2 hours watching some.
2. The little dude is coming up to the office to monkey around a bit. He loves visiting daddy at work.
3. Probably going to hit up Chick-fil-A for a chocolate milkshake before we head for home.
4. Profit (no pun intended).
Whatcha all up to on your end? Anything exciting?
P.S. I'll be playing some Battlefield 3 late-night tonight (starting at around 1am). if anyone is interested, PSN me and we'll shoot some enemies.
Dude, speakin' of which... we have a 1-person bathroom at work that I like to use to crap in (am I the only one who doesn't like crapping in the bathrooms with multiple stalls and urinals? In college it didn't matter, but I don't want my co-workers to hear my farty noises, you know?), and every time I've checked so far this afternoon, it's been occupied. I'm approaching the breaking point (the point at which I say, "Ah screw it, I'm using the 'other' bathroom").
I go in anonymity. Benefits of working for a huge company that occupies dozens of floors in my building... I crash other floors and use their bathroom. The group that sits on the floor below mine travels frequently and there is rarely more than half a dozen people on the entire floor, so their facilities are like my own personal 3 stall, 3 urinal bathroom.
I always feel like I'm gonna get the evil eye from someone when I use the handicapped stall and then walk my perfectly healthy ass out of it. I only use it in emergencies. But the deep-down truth is that it's mainly because I'm too short for the tall toilet to be comfortable. My feet barely touch the damn floor.
I am currently not studying for my income tax law final. I should be though.
Nah, just bag it. If you're not sure, just answer that its a taxable gain. Also, don't fret - you'll never understand the tax code. No one else does.
Is everyone on MGoBlog a lawyer or in law school?
Only the ones who are spending their Fridays on threads like this, rather than making a productive and positive contribution to society.
No there are some MGoDoctors as well.
I'm just dictating right now, then need to return patient phonecalls.
Watching "The Killing" on Netflix before I move back home for the summer, as Finals are DONE!
"It's Friday night, what are you drinking?" thread.
And just to be fair, you're gonna negbang that thread as well, right?
I didn't want to be the one to call him out. I don't think I've negged a thread and then participated in the festivities therein before. But it seems kind of interesting nonetheless.
Sitting at work, drinking coffee, fixing the occasional technical problem, and enjoying being a freshly graduated Michigan alumnus. Ah, the sweet sweet taste of not studying.
Congrats, alumnus. Welcome to the ranks.
I am about to go record some brain signals from a monkey while he sits there and plays with a robot.
It's so cool that you get to record their material. When will it be available on iTunes?
I'm working.
Also, I'm looking into buying the British TV series Sherlock with Benedict Cumberpatch. Has anyone seen it?
What would you like to know about it before buying it?
How rewatchable is it?
I watched season 1 on PBS and enjoyed it a lot so I bought it. If you've never seen any episodes, I might recommend renting it just to see how you like it.
Each season is only three episodes long with each episode running about 90 minutes. I really like episodes 1.1 and 1.3, and I rewatch them pretty regularly. I've only watched 1.2 a couple of times. Season 2 starts on PBS on Sunday and should come out on DVD later this month.
this thread would devolve into reading about a buncha college students freshly done with school hanging out with scantly clad women on their porches drinking beer...then i would have to punch myself in the face for being stuck in front of this computer for 2.5 more hours.
i mentally checked out around noon but have a phone call with a client at three and then its going to be hiding daily show episodes in the corner of screen until i leave. question - how many people really actually LIKE their job?
I've always been a car nerd. I can trace it to when I was 13 years old and my dad said "JeepinBen, I've got to get a new car soon, can you research cars for me on the internet?" Awesome. Anyway, I graduated 2009 when the economy really really sucked and got a job, but it was a shitty job. Lived in lansing (sucked) worked at a startup with good coworkers and a terrible, terrible boss. Company owner, micromanaged everything, no trust, treated employees like crap, underpaid, under appreciated, etc. Well I left that last August to work for an Auto Supplier outside Chicago and I love it. I love cars so I love the industry and my new bosses are great people and great to work for. I'm fairly compensated, appreciated, and the corporate culture just fosters great things. It's amazing what going from a terribly run startup to a Fortune 500 company can do.
Had a good meeting with a new client this morning, rocked an interview this afternoon for new work, and now ... I'll probably have a smoke and a pancake.
For BF3 vids, I found this one pure inspiration (I use Xbox though, so I can't join ya)
I'm going to assume the McDonalds and the pricy dinner with free booze are unrelated.
Snackwraps and McChicken? Hell no.
McGriddles however, a fine meal by any standard.
I thought a good meal meant eating McDonalds tailgate style with plenty of Mad Dog 20/20 and Natty Light...
Now I have to plan some snobby outing with, like, "forks" or "waiters". Thanks a lot, a2_electricboogaloo.
Sporks are acceptable if that makes you feel any better.
Regarding BF3 videos: watch this (and the other episodes... I believe there are 6 total) and try not to laugh too loudly:
I think episode #4 is my favorite.
Edit: Be ware of NSFW language. Just so you all know.
That's awesome. FWIW, I've logged some serious hours and I'm still that pilot.
Same here, man. I suck at flying the choppers. I've managed to get halfway-decent with the jets, but pretty much the only points I've accumulated in choppers have been from passenger bonuses. Ha!
Now I'm sitting here all depressed that there's no Chick-fil-A anywhere near me.
Hey man, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The prospect of Chick-fil-a is good and all, but the cravings seem to only manifest themselves on Sundays. Coincidentally, Chick-fil-a is closed on Sundays.
:(
Boo.
GET READY FOR FUN!

Except for the part about the nano-whatsis, lipo-thingies.
Heard much about these copyright trolls spamming district courts all over America lately?
and I'll tell you everything for $1,000. Otherwise, see you in court.
I'm on a call right now and my boss can't keep on topic...that's how I found myself here. Good thread.
Working from home, on a conference call WHILE beating Oregon in the national championship game on my new PS3
Getting ready to shock the world!
True statement, but it's Friday so really I'm just watching Colbert Report episodes, reading MGoBlog, and straight West Coasting it. Ah the joys of having your own office.
My friend gets his Maryland Bar Exam results today. So either we are having a wicked celebration or I am consoling him with drinks.
Either way: drinking. Sounds about right to me.
And trying to get the fuck out of Cleveland, OH
Hey, it's not that bad here. Where else can you enjoy the luxurious shores of Lake Erie?
