I love it. Classic. Also a great movie.

2001 is my favorite movie by far. Like most people, I saw it initially when I was younger and was like, "There's some cool shots but it's slow and boring". Then is saw these youtube videos by a brilliant Brit named Robert Ager:

(There's 3 parts) Anywhoo, it made me realize what a brilliant film that is and since then I've done a huge amount of research on the film. Kubrick has also become my favorite filmmaker because he put this level of thought into all his films. Never see one of his films and not research deeper meanings because, trust me, they're always there. Sorry to get so excited, but I'm in the SAC department here at Michigan (well, I'm a film minor).

My brother is a professor at Auburn and I visit often. It is a marginal university academically and at best second banana in a third banana state. My brother did graduate work at MSU and he would agree. Even the MSU comparison to Michigan only works at the margins as at least MSU is a legitmate university. The notion that Diamond took academics into consideration for a minute is laughable.
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:41 PM ^
I wouldn't take much of what Diamond said too seriously. Not overly impressed with the kid's attitude. Maybe Auburn is a good fit in that regard.

I lived in Montgomery, AL for a couple years. and on my first few trips to Atlanta, I didn't even know I had "missed" the Auburn exit.
I will say that if a college athlete wanted to go somewhere that they would be treated as a superstar, not only will that get that from Auburn University, they will get that from the city of Auburn.

I'd be shocked if Alex Kozan doesn't sign with Michigan now. Alex Kozan is one of those kids, that when he matures, could be an all conference team.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:46 PM ^
Seriously, how do you know this much about Michigan's recruiting? I mean, I follow Michigan pretty fanatically but I know practically nothing about Alabama's class, yet you seem to know Michigans entire class!
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:56 PM ^
I love recruiting, have been following it closely for 15 years now. I could probably tell you quite a bit about the recruiting classes of more schools than I'd like to admit. #TotalDork
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:02 PM ^
Crazy haha. So...coming from an Alabama fan, what do you think of the Michigan vs Alabama game next year?
February 3rd, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
When you lose what Bama is losing, there's always a legit fear. If you look at Saban's career, he is prone to down years, after he's reached the pinnacle.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:47 PM ^
respects your avatar's style.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:40 PM ^
If we can land Kozan, this won't be a big deal as AJ Williams' long term future will likely be at Tackle
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:46 PM ^
Not if you believe Williams, the coaches and the gurus. Although no one knows what may happen down the line.
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:28 PM ^
AJ Williams will play TE next year due to depth concerns (as per the coaches), but that doesn't preclude him from moving to Tackle later on. AJ even said himself that he wouldn't mind potentially switching down the line since Tackles are paid better in the NFL.
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:42 PM ^
Yeah. That's why I mentioned things could change down the line. The difference is, I'm observing he's intended to be a TE and that may change. You're skipping step one and predicting the future.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:41 PM ^
Honestly, what a dissapointing close-no momentum at the end at all. You'd think with all the commits locked up before signing day we would have been able to focus on some other guys and steal a few.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:43 PM ^
Hoke said it, nothing guarentees until he signs LOi
February 3rd, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
You mean like Willie Henry and Dennis Norfleet, and quite likely Alex Kozan, on top of the other 23 commits which comprise a top 5 class nationally?
Yeah, how disappointing.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:42 PM ^
Hopefully this fills up Auburns line and helps Kozan go blue.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
My Michigan arrogance makes me wonder why these guys don't pick Michigan. Then I remember that I'm trying to understand 18 year olds' reasonable thought patterns. My decisions when I was 18 were pretty suspect too.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:46 PM ^
Why not Michigan.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
The kid needs a history lesson.
Good luck, I will wish you no injuries. Kick Nick Saban's butt while you are at it.
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:36 PM ^
"shock the world" would be him choosing Northern Illinios or some other directional school.
Oh - or even better - Arizona, RichRodRulz!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
Now we have to find someone willing to hunt down Kozan on his vision quest and bring him to A2. Barwis and the wolves would have been ideal here, alas....

vision quest should be wrapping up any minute now
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
We are fine at OL. Big guys coming in and more room for another 3-5 next year. Kozen would be nice, though. This kid from day 1 just never seeme like he would choose m. He called us his leader forever, but never pulled the trigger. To me that is never a good sign. Sucks that we were 50/50 with so many kids, as getting him, reaves, Garnett and Dunn would have surely made this the #1 class In the nation.
February 3rd, 2012 at 10:05 PM ^
he and other kids would just drop Michigan, and stop with the drama.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
before noon tomorrow.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:49 PM ^
Let's hope so. Lozano better not turn us down twice

Fuck the SEC
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:45 PM ^
ondre PeeWee pipkins dont lie! team 133 all the way!
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:47 PM ^
Did pee wee say who was the false alarm commit he was referring last month?
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:58 PM ^
I think pee wee made a jewelry or stone reference and this board debated whether it was Garnett or Diamond.
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:09 PM ^
Aquaman talked with Ondre, and confirmed that the secret committ or whatever was in fact Diamond
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:47 PM ^
Great class but it was tough to watch us lose out on so many great recruits. Hopefully the coaches can land Kozan to finish strong...
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:54 PM ^
Let's hope we can land a star recruit
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:52 PM ^
at least he didn't go to Ohio ...
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:52 PM ^
Auburn now has 6 OL signees. It seems unlikely that:1-Auburn takes 7 OL and 2-Kozan would want to join such a large crowd.....although we should never underestimate the power of "benefits"
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:55 PM ^
6 OL signees? Wasn't it Diamond's mom who seemed uber-concerned about the depth charts at the various schools?
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:02 PM ^
Diamond likes to compete
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:27 PM ^
Maybe Jordan's mother is crazy and that's what made him want to go all the way to Alabama for college.
February 3rd, 2012 at 11:02 PM ^
Maybe Jordan's mother wants to move to Auburn where its nice and warm. Lots of parents move to be closer to their kids.
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:59 PM ^
He might just stay his Iowa commitment
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:06 PM ^
February 3rd, 2012 at 10:02 PM ^
i think it's better to believe they're going else where and get surprised than believe them coming to Michigan and get turned down. IMO tho
