thinking that Bolden could play early, it will be interesting to see how soon he makes it on the field.

Michigan needs a backup at MIKE, because I don't think Mike Jones can do it and JB Fitzgerald is graduating. That leaves freshmen or perhaps Desmond Morgan if he moves over from WILL. I think Jenkins-Stone needs more work than Bolden, so I'm guessing Bolden has the best chance to play next year. My guess as to the pecking order for next season:
1. Ross
2. Bolden
3. Jenkins-Stone
4. Ringer

Plus with Bolden being an EE, it can only help his chances seeing the field early.

does anyone else keep seeing EE and thinking Electrical Engineer and wondering what the hell that has to do with anything before remembering it means Early Enrollee?

In the benefits world EE means employee.

Is that where Pryor is from?

He'll know the plays better because they are essentially wiring schematics. If he doesn't cross any wires, he'll start in 2012.

People seemed pretty happy with Bolden's play at the UnderArmor game last night, at least based on the first few series. I got home late and was only able to see a few plays. In the plays I saw, Bolden was a non-factor and didn't appear to be hustling. I was pretty disappointed. Perhaps he was winded by that point in the game (mid third quarter)?

He looked good early in the game. Was flying all over the place, really reading plays. Kid looks athletic, already built solid with room to get bigger. These game are tough to gauge LB's, OL. It's like a pickup basketball game, the skill players shine because there's minimal defensive schemes. The OL will look bad too because they had no time to get schemes down. The DB's, WR, RB's, DE's always shine in this games because they just ball without being schemed for.
I would put more into how the coaches RAVED about him the entire week in all aspects, he was named a starter & Captain. I think this kid is going to be very good in the future & will contribute as a Frosh.

Eh, I watched the first half and he was hustling and around the ball; made some good tackles and almost had an INT. But honestly, the game was a typical high school all star game: the d-line dominated, and there were a lot of downfield that were not successful unless they were really successful. LB play wasn't a huge factor for both teams.

I taped the game and haven't watched the whole thing yet, but through 1.5 quarters he looked very solid. I'm not sure what happend in the third and fourth quarters, so it's possible that he got winded or dinged up. I think his team was down by a considerable amount by that point, so I guess I wouldn't be too concerned about a lack of hustle in a blowout loss of an exhibition game.

Is Ross coming in at Will?
January 6th, 2012 at 10:27 AM ^
Well, he's being recruited for WILL and I think that's where he'll fit best. I think he has a chance of playing next year, too, as long as his size isn't too much of a hindrance.

I think Ross and Bolden play, the other two redshirt.
I'm worried about Ringer in the same way I worried about Gregg Brown. Being an EE and then redshirtting is tough, you play all spring and summer and for so long - then you're told you have to sit.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him, play just special teams and burn that redshirt (like Hollowell this year)...only thing is Delonte didn't enroll early.

Brown didn't redshirt.

But he was an EE.

What's the word on Antonio Poole? People always seem to skip him when talking about next year's LBs.

Bolden was all over the place during the Under Armoro game. He missed a few tackles , but he was in their backfield all day.

already owning that ohio d.line. go kalis!

Does anyone think Kalis will compete for Molks old job. Seems to me like he is too nasty to keep off of the field. He looks like it doesnt matter what position he plays, he will dominate.
My early prediction for oline in the opener LT Lewan LG Kalis C Barnum RG Omameh RT Schofield.
