positions denard robinson is capable of playing
QB, RB, FB, WR, Slot, TE, OT, OG, C, DE, DT, OLB, MLB, Deathbacker, SS, FS, CB, K, P, LS
For he is Denard...Fastest player in the history of man.
My best guess is that with his skill set Denard will be able to play at: QB, WR, Slot, RB, CB, KR, and PR.
Of course I'm not saying that he will play all of these positions, I am just saying that if he takes adequate reps he would have the proper physical tools to succeed.
I don't think they will risk him getting hurt at other positions this year because there isn't enough depth at QB. Unless Nick Sheridan has somehow grown into a bona fide QB, Robinson and Forcier are the only real options at the position. They need to keep both of them healthy. Returning kicks, for example, isn't the way to accomplish that.
Robinson might be an upgrade at some of these positions, especially DB, but not enough of an upgrade to risk having Sheridan and Cone be the #2 and #3 QB's.
Even if Sheridan is a viable QB, we still wouldn't want Robinson to switch this year - or play any position that the possibility for him to get hurt exists... all it takes is one game like the '06 Penn State game and we'd have to see Coner take the field.
Wasn't he listed as the #13 or #14 DB on rivals....We need depth at DB. But he was probably told he would get a shot at qb so we'll have to see how that works out first
have no depth at qb, perhaps it makes sense to give the kid the chance to play where he wants..
Shh. QB only. We don't want Steinbrenner drafting him
I can't see Denard playing any other position but quarterback for at least a couple of years.
It would give Gardner time to develop (redshirt?) and allow for quality depth at the position. After two years, if he is beaten out by both Tate and Gardner then perhaps he makes a move.
Ditto on the Gardner redshirt.
Goalie, sweeper, point guard, and the 100-yard butterfly.
My guess (which is based on nothing more than two beers and total boredum): Denard, once up to Barwis Speed, will be an all-purpose back, QB/WR/HYBRID RB, with Tate/Devin under center. Watch out for a new level of trickeration akin to Zolton's rugby-style punt & run.
Me likey.
more I think about it I think he will be used kind of like Russel Shephard will be used for LSU..
season. Tate most certainly has the edge at this point. I agree with most that Tate looks great but Denard is one gifted athlete. I wish Michigan had the chance to redshirt this player but as others have mentioned, Michigan must have a viable back up qb. Denard is way to talented not to make an impact on the field whether defense or offense. This is the kind of problem I like-thank you Denard and welcome to AA. I'd rather see Denard run back an intercepted Pryor pass for a TD but would certainly welcome a ninja thumping 60yd TD run against the Bucnuts. This season can't start early enough for this Michigan Fan. One game at a time!
We need him at QB, maybe on occaision put him in a wildcat type formation with Tate too
Robinson seems CAPABLE of playing any of the offensive skill positions and DB, but the question is where do we NEED him (as many posters have mentioned). We need him a QB for two years.
One thing I've noticed about him from interviews and other write-ups is that he is very competitive and is a great leader, so I doubt that he'll want to stay on the sidelines if he can help the team win, even if it is as a situational slot/back.
I'd say missionary for sure. Then reverse cowboy, standing and pretty much anything that's out there. Denard is so athletic that I think the sky's the limit on his potential positions. His only potential drawback? He's so fast.
is full of win
some barwis workouts and he'll be able to play the retrograde wheelbarrow position as well.
He can play any poition exept OL, DE, LB
Even DT or TE?
