To me, the most important…

To me, the most important part of the pregame landscaping at midfield was the message it sent to their disgusting athletic department.  It had nothing to do with the game itself or the opposing players.  Devin sent a message to university leadership that still resonates at this very hour.

Mason Cole swinging through…

Mason Cole swinging through might be the most impressive part about that return.  The good guys scored a touchdown in all three phases of that game in the FIRST HALF, which I've never seen before or since.  So exciting to be there in person!

If the Wexners have built…

If the Wexners have built OSU and were Jeffrey Epstein's first billionaire client, how much of OSU's financing is tied to human trafficking?

Let's GO BLUE, my friend

I was in the stands that…

I was in the stands that night and came as close as I EVER have to fist fighting in two different parking lots.

I'm glad I kept the game in perspective.  Part of being the bigger brother is holding your water, regardless of the outcome.  We leave the couches and street lamps alone and go home to our own meaningful mission, whatever that might be.

Sparty's looking for a good time.  We focus on the mission, win or lose.

The extra chant may have…

The extra chant may have started around 2003, but it was popularized by RR in 08.  That's definitely when the locker rooms started picking it up.

I never add it.  My fight song has been the envy of college football for about 100 years and it doesn't need a postmodern twist.

GO BLUE is a great thing- just not at the end of The Victors.

Fake news is as easy as…

Fake news is as easy as falling off a log for mainstream media, even on the sports page.

Terrific work by the high school kids.

Zavier is a junior and has made quite a name for himself.

You’d think the bloggers here could spell his name right.

It was nice to see the…

It was nice to see the Columbus street urchins grab their coats and leave as soon as Parris’ hand went up in the air.

I can’t help but credit Warde for the job he’s done- so many championships and good teams in the athletic department.  We may have to lower ourselves to slimier business practices to make it really count in the most lucrative sport, but hopefully not.  GO BLUE!  Athletic and academic excellence on display!

I wouldn’t necessarily…

I wouldn’t necessarily credit MJ for the global popularity of the NBA.  Europe became more Americanized for a variety of reasons; China started opening up, etc.

Aside from that, MJ is the original golden boy in biased officiating:  don’t touch him or it’s an automatic foul.

He has big Gatorade and Nike endorsements and he’s the best talent on the floor, so he gets a different set of rules.  That’s where I turn the channel.

I took a few minutes to post…

I took a few minutes to post some frustration earlier today.  Much of it was based on misinformation.  I’ve found a good place to post and get corrected for that misinformation.

Can I still dislike the Patriots?  Can someone make a case that it’s good for the longevity of the NFL for the same team to win the AFC every year?

I’ve read the responses to my misinformation earlier.  They were educational.  I’d like to hear some other educated responses to my longevity question; first one was rhetorical.

Tom Brady is a decent man. …

Tom Brady is a decent man.  It's a shame his franchise is doing to the NFL what the Bulls did to the NBA- not just winning a lot, but doing it with institutionalized advantage.

Signals stolen- no repercussions

Illegal motion on offense- blind eyes turned

Destroying evidence in "deflate-gate," as petty as the investigation might have been- no consequences

Tom plays in a garbage division, which isn't his fault, but begs the question, "Why has the AFC East been so lousy for so long except for Bob Kraft's organization?  Isn't the structure of the NFL draft supposed to insure parity?"

Then there's the Kraft food conglomerate.  Also not Tom's fault, but an indirect contributor to his success.  I love capitalism, but I don't love all the lobbyists that Bob Kraft uses to his advantage.

I can hear the "Lighten up, Francis" crowd now.  Forgive me for demanding some integrity around Tom Brady, regardless of the quality of his own character.

You know, it a lot of ways,…

You know, it a lot of ways, you are correct.

But I don’t miss the NFL.

I’m still sick of him and…

I’m still sick of him and even more sick of the Patriots.  I was sick of NE 10 years ago and will continue ignoring NFL broadcasts.  For a multitude of reasons.

“Gonna fly now” just started…

“Gonna fly now” just started playing as I’m watching Rocky.  And here I read about a Conti football player.  Looks to me like Zach might not be a bad leg-breaker at the OT position, know what I mean?

(Bill Conti composed most of the Rocky soundtrack.  Some knuckleheads think movies before Y2K aren’t worth watching, so I figured I’d specify).

These are great players who…

These are great players who have paved the way... many, many, many years ago.

Who’s paving the way NOW?

Who’s filling trophy cases NOW?

15 without a conference championship is too long.  Get it done.  NOW.

College football completely…

College football completely sucks right now.  I’ve abandoned the NFL completely and will probably phase out college football, too.  For a multitude of exhausted reasons.

UP VOTE!

UP VOTE!

When does it get done?  I don’t see it happening.

Beilein coached backwater schools for 20 years before he got to WVU.  And dealt with the wake of sanctions when he got here.

Where else would they go?

Gotta use the backboard on the mid-range stuff.

I’m glad my school is at least a basketball school.

I've never seen a chart like the first one before.  It's packed with infinite comparisons.

All those duds at the high end of the RB scale [cringe].  ZC will exorcise that data!

They were playing all 3 rivals when Saban was in short pants.  Yet somehow he’s built the program he enjoys now.

And this thread wasn’t started to discuss high school teams on a power 5 schedule, as annoying as that is.  Don’t change the subject.

There’s a school down south…

There’s a school down south that plays Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee every year and they’re all considered bitter rivals.  No 30 year gaps between games, either.

Do you have any other lightweight excuses?

Mad-Donna could walk out and the Brown brothers could escort her back to the sideline in a gondola- trash taking out the trash.

She’s a genuine talent, but we could do without her influence on our culture for the past 30 years.  Particularly the last two.

Remember the graphic from this past summer about which state's high schoolers have a higher chance of getting NFL drafted?  It shows a very different trend than the recruiting services would lead us to believe.

This reel is much more…

This reel is much more impressive than the other clips I've seen of him.  If we're recruiting another 5-star to both sides of the ball... is it ridiculous to entertain the idea of him playing of offense?

Just sayin- big hamburger helper hands, adjusts to the ball.  Owen Marecic, perhaps?

Can I also upvote Zach's choice of highlight music?  Sounds almost like a horror movie soundtrack; no obscenities, listenable for all ages.  Let's seal the deal here and get 2 of the top 3 players in  Ohio.

First time I've seen this pic.  Ash looks creepy, and the cop in the background looks like slimy spectator.  I'm sure he's a good cop, it just makes the picture even worse.

Hopefully Ash stays at literal arms length this week, and figuratively under our boot.

I’d prefer to compare our…

I’d prefer to compare our Shawshank  treatment of OSU to Hadley and he guards throttling Boggs to avenge Dufresne-

“two things never happened after that- the sisters never touched Andy again, and Boggs never walked again.  They say he spent the rest of his days [drinking his dinner through a straw].”

Chik fil A employs whoever they want from a very broad spectrum of “lifestyles” and feeds hungry people.  More power to them.
