Wolverine Historian Appreciation Thread

Submitted by Zarniwoop on

I would estimate that I watch a video from Wolverine Historian at least twice a week. This week, its been every day as I've been eating in front of the computer. Thought it might be a nice chance to say thanks, list your favorites, or just have some damned football on the page for once.

My very favorite:

Edit: I can embed in every damned post I've ever made but this one. Have to do a link since the edit options appear to be limited if you're the first post in a thread. Yes, I can back that up with words if anyone cares.

Irons is likely underapprecaited in Michigan lore simply because his team lost four games every year (incidentally, the four years I was a student - and we thought that was so horrible at the time!). He had already made a name for himself as a redshirt freshman when finishing the famous goalline stand against PSU in 1993. He then went on to one of the best Michigan linebacker careers in recent memory.

I still believe if he hadn't been injured for the Northwestern game in 1996, Michigan would have easily won and changed the whole trajectory of that seasson.

Making videos is hard. Compiling footage is harder. It just takes a ton of patience and work and the Michigan fanbase is lucky to have a guy like Wolverine Historian to provide that sort of content.

I was too young to remember Ufer live way back when, but, love hearing audio of his broadcasts. Anyone younger who is a fan now and hasn't yet been exposed to Ufer, seek it out...pure gold.

Whenever I'm having a rough day, I just watch some WH vids and all is well. The Ty Wheatley tribute has been my go to lately.

Thanks WH!

Two of the things that make ours the most fortunate fan base are John U. Bacon and Wolverine Historian. We have a first-rate author chronicling and doing books about our football program, and we have a video guy who tirelessly puts our history out there on YouTube for all to enjoy and re-live.

I have to believe that few other programs across the country have a John U. Bacon and a Wolverine Historian.

Here, here!! Thank you WH. You have no idea how many times you've made my summers seam a little shorter...like this one! Thanks to you, it's always football season.
