UM ND on BTN

Submitted by Flying Dutchman on

Oh man, the BTN is feeding my appetite today with the last fall's ND game on right now.

There is a 1st and 10 right on the 50 with about 2:00 left in 2Q.    Denard doesn't even think about passing, scoots right , kinda shuffles to about 2 yds behind the line of scrimmage, and then just blasts straight ahead for the quickest 15 yards of the game.    I know we have been talking about that aspect of things for months and months and months, but when they need to respect his arm, this could get silly.

I can't wait til September.

That's what has me so pumped for Denard this season. Watching what he can do to fools with that speed, even when they know it's coming, is fantastic. When he mixes in some passing to keep the D honest...look out.

This 2-QB system going into fall is really getting me excited. Just think of the possibilities (TFQO notwithstanding)...

"There's a jock strap on the field. And it belongs to Darius Fleming." - Matt Millen

Best contribution Millen has ever made to football.

I just got goosebumps watchin Forcier break Darius Flemming's ankles on that 4th & 3 to take it to the house. That was my first time in the Big House and it was the greatest day of my life. Can't wait for fall.

Thanks for the tip...just tuned in. I watched this game live at my poolside hotel bar in Maui. I was sitting across from a couple diehard ND fans. Right after ND scored their last TD, he bought me a beer and thanked me for a great game. I told him I thought it was premature, but whatever. When I tried to reciprocate at the end of the game, he declined. As if a Hawaii vacation could get any better!

Denard is still very young and lacks experience.  But the difference in this player's abilites from last year to this year is hard to believe.

This last drive is just fantastic with a true Freshman running the offense.  Remember how hopeful we were when we thought Michigan beat a pretty good ND team with an unstoppable offense?  Sigh.

I miss football.

Tate and RR hugging RR and Barwis gave me chills. Hopefully one day we'll see them doing that again as RR kisses the crystal football.

love having both Denard and Tate at QB this coming season. They are both going to be very good and I personally believe they will be platooned. God we're going to score a shitload of points this coming season.

It was the single greatest sporting event I've ever been to. Perfect weather, great atmosphere. It was almost like a religious experience. People yelling and chanting while exiting the stadium. The highs and lows (the Savoy drop/the Mathews touchdown). Tate had me screaming his name like a schoolgirl at a Beatles concert with his jukey TD run and awesomely cocky #1 salute while crossing the goal line.

I was watching both this and the Wisconsin game. It makes me not want to sell Tate out of this QB race just yet.. and at the same time, I'm excited for Denard as well. I can't wait for fall camp!!

I had to watch the game resting on the sofa because of an illness that was kicking my butt that whole week. I had little energy but the game was keeping my adrenaline going.

When Mathews caught that touchdown, I jumped from the sofa and screamed, with the voice I had left. What a great day.

has me really looking forward to September 4th. I don't recall looking forward to how much bigger everyone gets from the year before like we have under Coach Rodriguez; just a phenomenal job by Coach Barwis and Co.. We return 8 starters on offense from last year, including four-fifths of the O-line. I'm always looking forward to the opener, but this one seems a little different. I keep telling myself it's time for the Empire to strike back, perhaps that's what it is.
