There are...
days until everyone's favorite quarterback is running and throwing all over Western.
There are also...
days until Notre Dame becomes rattled by the dreads and the Wolverines take them down.
There are also...
days until Brandon and the seniors beat Sparty their last year.
There are also...
days until the legend of Brady Hoke begins taking down the Buckeyes.

Yes, it's Denard day finally!
August 18th, 2011 at 1:25 AM ^
still give me the chills to this day. I'll never forget that play.
August 18th, 2011 at 3:05 AM ^
he says "Broken Plays... are very, dangerous... for a kid like this- look at that speed!"... I get chills just typing that

August 18th, 2011 at 9:18 AM ^
after reviewing the film...he actually said...."thats 6"
August 18th, 2011 at 10:46 AM ^
My top 5 one liner calls in the last 5 years (in no particular order):
- 2006 ND: "Oh, wide open."
- 2008 UW: "Minor is Major! Touchdown!"
- 2009 WMU: "Look at that speed! See ya!"
- 2010 UConn: "That's six..."
- 2010 ND: "And off to the races, Denard Robinson!"

I remember how the stadium erupted after that play... as if a weighted had been lifted... only if that were true.
August 18th, 2011 at 2:04 AM ^
Oh yeah, I remember watching him pick it up and just fly. Not too long after that, the 'Rich Rodriguez' chant rose up from the crowd. How long ago those days seem now...
August 18th, 2011 at 1:40 AM ^
The best bad snap I have ever seen. I love how the camera zooms out as Denard waltzes into the end zone and you see the stadium exploding with happiness. Truly a special talent...
August 18th, 2011 at 2:04 AM ^
Great play. I wish he would have been red shirted that year.

I am a little dumbfounded by Denard's high school stat line that popped up during the telecast. If you missed it, here are his career stats (which I assume to be somewhat accurate)
Comp % = 45%
Pass Yds ~ 5,000 Yds
Pass Tds = 44
Rush Yds ~ 1,100 Yds
Rush Tds = 13
#1 Denard increased his Completion Percentage 17% from high school to a first year starter in college. That is a fairly drastic change.
#2 Did Denard really only have 1100 yards rushing during his h.s. career and over 1500 in one season at UM?
August 18th, 2011 at 8:12 AM ^
In high school he was playing in more of a Pro Style offense than a spread. His high school offense actually looks like the one we're implementing now, with the Pro Look that (will supposedly) take advantage of his domination on the ground.

Im guessing you knew there would be people all over this date, so they could put Denard up there, Im guessing you had it all typed out and was just sitting there waiting for it to hit12 so you could hit save.....Im not hating, I would have done the same thing if I was on

And 100 days to Ohio.

August 18th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
There's another bunch over there!
August 18th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
Filthy swine. Guess who is a Michigan resident now?! Only a half hour from A2. Gotta at least make two of the home games! I think I am now in heaven. Brady Hoke is St. Peter at the gates.

Hope TFA is going well! I will be in AA for Purdue and Nebraska this year, and I'm looking forward greatly to MGoTailgating. In the meantime, as of midnight tonight, I have exactly 14 days until I take the MCAT, AKA the #1 determinant of where I will hopefully go to medical school. My review class is winding down, so most of my time is spent in content review and taking practice exams. It's grueling and intense, but if I keep stepping my game up, in two weeks I will be past the single biggest obstacle on the trail, and just in time for the season opener!
By the way, points don't expire any more, according to Brian in today's UV. So, I might just break 20,000 one of these days. The new moderation system is kind of lame, but it works.
August 18th, 2011 at 12:34 AM ^
I'll be taking it next year. What should I do to prepare? You already mentioned taking a review course, where are you taking that?
August 18th, 2011 at 12:45 AM ^
I recommend Princeton over Kaplan for MCAT review. Kaplan's courses are more math-oriented and not truly representative of typical MCAT questions. There aren't any calculus-caliber questions on the MCAT, but algebra and variable manipulation are essential skills, especially on Physical Sciences.
If you have a year to prepare, I would start by getting access to a few practice MCAT tests. Take one cold to get a feel for the test. There are cheap shots all over the place, and you'll fall into traps. This is how they design the test, i.e. "How much work does the magnetic force do on charged particles moving through a tube? Here are some velocities and the intensity of B." (Answer: 0; Fb is always perpendicular, by definition, to the motion of the particles, and by W = Fdcos(theta), it does no work. Trick question.) Check the answers and study your responses to start identifying your strengths and weaknesses.
Pay attention in your remaining pre-requisite classes. Microbiology is useful, Molecular Genetics even more so. Biochemistry is worth taking also. Don't worry about having everything memorized for the MCAT; it's a concept-oriented test, and they usually explain stuff well in a passage.
August 18th, 2011 at 1:04 AM ^
I am taking the MCAT in less than a week now and I agree.
Another good set of tools is the Examkrackers books, especially the verbal I know is well respected.
I used the Princeton review books as well.
Also, the best practice tests are the AAMC's but I would save most of those until its closer to the actual time.

Denard day? What ever happened to John "Moose" Navarre?
If Denard were reading he'd probably even smile...
August 18th, 2011 at 1:05 AM ^
Much Respect to the last QB to beat Ohio.
That was a good way to celebrate 100 games.
August 18th, 2011 at 7:34 AM ^
the OP's screen name isn't "Navarred", therefore he gives us Denard on day 16.
August 18th, 2011 at 11:24 AM ^
All due respect to him also but it was complete sarcasm. I just was proposing an alternative...
Steve Breaston tomorrow!!! Or Elvis Grbac, whichever you prefer.

That was epic man.

I froth at the mouth when this topic comes up. I have more than a few ohio fans in my midst, and they can give it pretty good. My wife thinks I'm a child because I get so enraged at the current state of affairs with tsio. I'm begging, God, Jesus, all the saints, Buddha, whoever it takes, to just get this freaking gorilla off our back, and shut these inbreds up.
Total faith in Hoke. Total faith that justice will return to the galaxy.

That's a long time between now and the OSU game!
Also, for the next time there is a three in the number: Rivals found a gem - Marvin Robinson smiling!
August 18th, 2011 at 1:42 AM ^
I hope to see Marvin Robinson smiling plenty after each game this season.
August 18th, 2011 at 9:05 AM ^
I can't remember. Was Denard a Rivals 3-star?
August 18th, 2011 at 10:42 AM ^
No, Denard was a four star
August 18th, 2011 at 6:48 PM ^
Marvin Robinson is MGoFamous for two things:
1. His OMGhalfshirt picture
2. He never smiles for pictures... ever
Since he wears the number three I was suggesting that the next time that there is a three in the number of days till a game (eg. 23, 34, 3...) that Denarded use this rare picture that rivals found of Marvin Robinson smiling.
August 18th, 2011 at 12:48 AM ^
