Tate's Reception
September 14th, 2010 at 1:31 AM ^
Tate will get a massive round of applause when he gets in the game. Book it.
September 14th, 2010 at 1:36 AM ^
I hope so. Even with all the drama, that guy really gave it his all last year and I'd really hate for the fans to forget so quickly everything he did.
I know if he goes in, I'll be cheering for him from my living room.
September 14th, 2010 at 1:33 AM ^
that makes me feel good
September 14th, 2010 at 1:48 AM ^
we have to not give him a warm reception?
Like ND and UCONN he's been Denarded.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:06 AM ^
Tate is the man. Just because some whiny people on the internet had a bad interaction with him doesn't mean the entire fanbase hates him.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:08 AM ^
and we support anybody who plays for Michigan.
Tate will be cheered
September 14th, 2010 at 3:15 AM ^
This. The thought of a Michigan fan doing anything but cheering on a Michigan player makes me want to puke.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:29 AM ^
Agree but I saw a guy post on Facebook "Great win but I still hate Rich Rod", so you never know what kind of dicks are out there. I'm going to cheer Tate he did some great stuff for us last year.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:42 PM ^
The person who said that about the coach can eat armadillo shit.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:08 AM ^
.....twice in the first quarter with Denard, and twice more in the 2nd quarter with DG? We go into the half with 28 points. Suppose DG goes another quarter and adds two TDs in the third before he sits down. Is it even fair to play a full quarter with our THIRD STRING QB - TATE FORCIER, along with, say, Stephen Hopkins after putting up 42 points already? Maybe Tate should be forced to throw left handed or something. Holy wow are we stacked!
For the next two games I would LOVE to see:
1QTR: Denard; 2QTR: Devin; 3QTR: Tate; 4QTR: JACK KENNEDY! Whooooo
Practice hard all week, play with intensity and execute with perfection.
September 14th, 2010 at 7:45 AM ^
I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:46 AM ^
forget those little bastards running around and crapping on the hollowed ground of UM Stadium.
The Spread is a great equalizer and I wouldn't look past these guys until the score gets out of hand. Our good start could be undone just as quick.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:14 AM ^
You might be going just a wee bit over board here.
I'm still too beat up from the past 3 years to go out on a limb like this. I expect to win, but I'd be fine if Jack Kennedy doesn't see the field (or even Tate). Definitely want to get Denard some rest this week though.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
I love your enthusiasm, but let's not forget to take our meds on schedule.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:37 AM ^
September 14th, 2010 at 9:29 AM ^
Maybe they weren't thrilled, but I think most people outside of talk radio at least understood his reaction. It can't be easy going from starting twelve games to nominal third string. However, at ND, he definitely seemed back on track... even if it seemed a bit scripted.
I know I'll be cheering for him.
September 14th, 2010 at 3:36 AM ^
Tate could throw a bunch of TDs.
September 14th, 2010 at 7:05 AM ^
Whatever wrong he did against uconn, he made up for it last week. Over-under on sideline hugs?
September 14th, 2010 at 7:48 AM ^
He will get a warm reception. Not only that. At some point during this season, Tate Forcier WILL help this team win a game in a crucial spot. Book it.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:13 AM ^
Tate will be greeted by M fans with enthusiasm. The kid gave it up vs. Indiana last year, hurt the shoulder, and still came back to throw an amazing TD for the win. Tate has not made his last plays here at Michigan.
You have to love our depth at QB after the last two seasons. If/when Tate gets in the UMass game, I'm going to cheer as loud as I can. Same for DG.
September 14th, 2010 at 8:36 AM ^
I will smack both of my palms together loudly, and will repeat. Others will to.
Perhaps a lil' "Whoo!"
September 14th, 2010 at 8:37 AM ^
warm fuzzy>cold prickly
September 14th, 2010 at 8:37 AM ^
Tate caught a pass?! Wait, he's starting at WR now?!
September 14th, 2010 at 9:06 AM ^
It worked for Denard...
September 14th, 2010 at 9:03 AM ^
In fact it better be. But I understand the OP's point. When Devin came in during the UCONN game, the crowd cheered wildly. As if they were happy it was DG and not Tate
We have some stupid fans. Some of these stupid fans are going to say the 5-7 record last year was due to Tate (i.e. if Denard had been in we would have won the B10!). Better OL, better WR, better grasp of O in 2010 are things too deep to think about. Add in some of our man Tate's reactions, and I can see some people acting poorly. Especially if he doesn't score right away.
I don't think so, but I can see it. I think we've got 3 special QB's, what's not to cheer?
September 14th, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
Our crowd always cheers loudly when a new QB makes his debut. You're projecting negativity onto something completely benign.
September 15th, 2010 at 11:27 AM ^
We do and we should cheer as you suggest. I reached in drawing a connection between the two. The cheering for DG didn't assume a dimmer view towards Tate
Separate from that opening statement, however, I stand by the point of stupid fans and the risk of contagious Tate hate.
September 14th, 2010 at 9:41 AM ^
...and can't stop looking for new articles singing his praises .
But he wasn't ready to QB a Big Ten offense last year.
I will never forget how comforting it was to see Tate run the offense against ND last year. If he hadn't kept hope alive early in the season, just imagine how much more negative the press would've been toward RichRod this past off-season.
I'll always be grateful for Tate keeping this team afloat early last season and restoring faith (even temporarily) in RichRod. And if he's called upon for any reason down the road, it's good to know we've got as talented a QB as Tate waiting in the wings. I'll be cheering like hell for him.
September 14th, 2010 at 10:16 AM ^
Any Michigan "fan" who boos a player in a Michigan uniform should have his season tickets revoked.
September 14th, 2010 at 6:21 PM ^
Tate is a good player and competitor. He will get a warm welcoming, and i know i will personally be glad to see him out there. I think its only fair for him to get at least a drive or two's worth of plays, as long as we're winning by a decent margin.
September 14th, 2010 at 7:42 PM ^
Every Michigan player should receive a good reception from our fans. Tate has done a lot for this team and the fans will show him the love.
September 15th, 2010 at 8:23 AM ^
If the coaches put him on the field it means he has earned the right to be there. As such the fans should cheer as hard as they want him to play.
