Super Bowl Pickin' and Grinnin' + Where Will You Watch

Submitted by xtramelanin on

Mates,

Its Super Bowl Eve and it's time to pick the winner and the over/under.

New England is a 1 pt. favorite over Seattle

The over/under is 47 1/2

Make your decision.  I want the NE Brady's to win, but I have a feeling Seattle is going to win by 7+ points.

Also, where will you be watching the game?  Big party with friends, home with mgowife/girlfriend/boyfriend (or all 3), fancy food and drink?

Who among us has been to a Super Bowl, when and where?

Too logical.  NFL will expand regular season by a week, add an extra layer to the playoffs and Super Bowl Sunday will be the night before President's Day (this year Feb 16).  Private businesses will be forced to treat that national holiday more like the 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day and join the gov't sector in taking the day off (unless they already do that...not sure).

Football into mid February?  Works for me.

New England, over. The Pats games against the Ravens and Colts were masterful performances against top competition. They do everything and they do it right. They run over you, they stop the run, short passing, deep passing, they sack the qb, and they go for it on 4th and 1 from the damn goal line! The Seahawks two games against the Panthers and Packers were the ugliest coathanger abortions of football games I've ever seen. They made children cry. They do nothing well. They can't string drives together, they turn the ball over every way possible, get penalized constantly, get injured, and have been relying on luck/weak opponents ineptitude to keep them in the game. Nothing about them gives me confidence that this game will be anything but a rerun of Notre Dame v Alabama.

This game is SUCH a tough call IMO.  You just know something weird will happen; but I can't see ANY defense holding Brady and the Pats to less than 3-4 touchdowns.  They've moved the ball so consistently the latter half of the season.

That said; I wouldn't be shocked to see either team win.  My guess is 28-27 Patriots in an all-time thriller.

I want the Pats but I have a feeling they won't.

I don't do anything special, I'll probably be sitting at my desk watching the game and on mgoblog.

I'm glad Michigan plays and there are a couple hockey games on before, I hate the pre-game/halftime bullshit of the Super Bowl

I like Seattle, probably low scoring. I will say 24-17. As for a party I was hosting but if we get the 8-12 inches of snow forecasted it will most likely be me in the living room and the wife watching something else in the bedroom.

I received an email from a betting site I used to use letting me know I had $220 on my account still. Having quit betting and not being able to take that money out without betting it. So I threw it all down on pats -1. If I win I take the money out. If they lose I lost money I didn't know I had

father in law had a minor heart attack while traveling for business. thankfully he'll be okay and we were only 3 hours away. on a lighter note we grabbed dinner at buzzard Billy's, and their draft special was hopslam. as for the game it would be nice to see tom win, but I think Seattle has too much speed on defense and too much lynch on offense. this won't be a blowout like last year, but I like Seattle by seven. and the under.

I'll be watching part with some girlfriends at a poorly timed birthday get together and the rest with a few families of my son's friends. I've never been to a SB but I told my husband a few weeks ago that if Detroit ever makes it, nothing will stop me from going, even if I go alone.

Tom Terrific FTW. Don't want anything other than to see beast mode fall on his face and the sea chickens fail.

Will be home frying up wings and onion rings. Supposed to get 8-12" of snow tomorrow to Monday in northern Ohio.

postponed due to expected heavy snow & bad roads (lots of senior drivers).

will watch with a couple of mostly disinterested individuals, or maybe just my MGoBlog pals.

Like both the Pats & the Seahawks, but will mostly root for New England.
