Rose Bowl Swag

Submitted by Bluesince89 on January 2nd, 2024 at 9:00 AM

Morning! It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

I’ve been waiting forever to upgrade my 1997 sweatshirt. Where can I get some official swag other than Mden? Or do we think they’ll be getting a bigger selection soon? So far, only hoodies. I’d like a crew neck.

TIA!

PRO TIP: the alabama store will likely have rose bowl gear on clearance soon. I'll be looking for stuff with Michigan on it (obviously). Usually the one with both helmets on it

Really want the jersey with the Rose Bowl shoulder prints and patch. Even _when_ they win the B1G Bowl... this one just means more... if you know what I mean.

The MDen Rose Bowl stuff was pretty bad this year. There was one good embroidered sweatshirt they had (it seemed) only in the stores, but they sold out almost as soon as they could put them out. Looks like the championship game is more of the same.

They sold Rose Bowl jerseys in '07 when it was just a matter of applying the game patch, and there were Champion Woodson almost-replicas (wrong number font) for the '98 Rose Bowl, but I've always been surprised that Michigan has never tried to cash in more with the bowl jerseys. They could sell a gazillion of them this week.

I'm guessing it's more because Jordan/Nike is really, really prickly about what they sell for public consumption, which is to say, there isn't very much and it's all at MDen. It wasn't like this before--you could get most anything from the sideline gear. Now, they all have stuff you literally cannot buy by design. Those cowl-neck sweatshirts Harbaugh wears, I'd probably buy three of 'em if they would just put them up for sale.

It's no coincidence that the best bowl gear back in the day was always at Moe's, not MDen. But MDen made sure that ended when they bought Moe's and instantly ran it into the ground.

In the words of Thanos... Fine... I'll do it myself...

I've recreated the shoulder emblems... now have to figure out how to print them on a jersey...

Would you be willing to share the original file? I found a place that looks like it does a good job with heat press decals that go onto clothing (ninjatransfers.com). I think they can be added pretty easily with an iron. I grabbed the decals off your picture but I figure the highest quality version would come out the best.

Something interesting though is that I emailed the equipment manager asking about what exactly these patches were. He told me they were actually screen printed by a third party and not patches or heat transferred decals. Pretty nice work they did on the real deal.

I had the same idea and was going to ask for the original file as well. There are other companies that make screen printed patches that i was going to try and have made and sew on to my jersey. Could order a bunch and ship them out if people are interested, but I'm not good with photoshop and don't know how to sharpen up the image from Motoslave

Just popped into MDen to see what was what today. They were putting the first wave of the CFP finals shirts on the rack, and I gotta say, yikes. Wouldn't buy any of it.

What would it take for MDen just to create and sell tasteful, classic playoff shirts without weird slogans and overly busy text that looks like bad WordArt?
