Corum - no. Haskins - yes.

Next spring meaning this upcoming spring, Corum is not eligible. Haskins is.

Good for Charbonnet. I never wanted to lose him, but I didn't think he had a place at UM as Haskins & Corum were better and we wanted snaps to develop Edwards. I'm glad he is being successful at UCLA. I wonder if we need to worry about MSU & Walker. Both he and Thorne are looking good.

PFF grades the running backs based on what they do on their carries. Yeah Charbonnet only had 19 yards on 6 carries against Fresno, but PFF grades him based on what yardage was possible on those carries. If he had to run into a line with no holes and nowhere to bounce, that doesn't count against him. The grades aren't based on overall yardage--they are based on what the player does with their carries vs what was possible--aka did they make the right cut, did they make anyone miss etc.

If Zach had stayed he might have got a few carries Saturday. Poor guy... Instead, he's playing for a mediocre (at best) second fiddle team in LA.

He's also going to school at UCLA, which is a Win in itself

Can we get a longer thread title? I guess it could have been worse-something like "RB's!"

With a great thread and discussion
Thats your takeaway?
Thread title?

I haven't watched any UCLA games, but it's crazy to me how Charbonnet is only getting limited snaps, since he is clearly making the most of them. 23 carries, 6 TDs, 242 yards and several 20+ plays. Is it a Chip Kelly thing? DTR doesn't seem like the most dependable guy to rely on and a good running game would seem to alleviate that

I watched the UCLA v Hawaii game. They do have another RB (Brittian Brown) they like that's not bad, but I was shocked that Brown started and was still getting carries, even though Zach was tearing them up.
Zach is better, but that is Chip's problem that he is not getting more touches....

I don't watch UCLA at all, but do they run a lot of option/RPO? DTR had 13 carries and was their leading rusher. Charbonnet and Brown combined for 15 carries. Or was it just a lot of broken plays due to poor pass pro?
Then again, not including punts, they only had 53 offensive plays and 17 first downs, so maybe their offense just sucked it up that game.

Watched all three UCLA games. And boy was that Fresno game awesome!
Anyway, yes Zach should obviously be getting more carries. However the situation is very similar to here. Where they have 2 very good backs. And my thinking was Chip is giving Brown the 1a reps due to experience in the system,, etc.

Damn, I missed that Fresno game, may have to try and find it on YT
Sounds like Zach left UM and then finds himself in the same situation, which must be frustrating. Hope Kelly gets him his carries... and thanks for the info!

Yes. That's the way it looks. As the season unfolds, more carries and role will increase. Another fact worth mentioning is the goal line situation, where he already seems to be the favorite.

Hutchinson is 3rd as Edge Defender also.

MSU Twitter in shambles

Why is Walker this good? and Why T F is Mel Tucker succeeding. I hate MSU. They doing too well now.
September 22nd, 2021 at 5:18 PM ^
Mel Tucker has shaped things up pretty quickly.

Pretty ridiculous Michigan has been farting around and stepping on their own dicks and Tucker comes in and turns MSU around in one year. Tucker completely fucked over Colorado on his way out. Stuff like this is why I don’t believe in karma.
