Can they stop looking better? They need a couple good pass rushers in the next draft and maybe a solid linebacker to go with them. A better draft position would make getting those players easier.
That said, Bevell is probably trying to earn a job elsewhere so I can't fault him or anybody else for wanting to look good on film.

He's one player on a historically terrible franchise. Does Barry Sanders suck for never winning much of anything? I understand there are a few differences between running back and QB but it's pretty clear the Fords have no interest in putting in more effort into building a winner. Stafford will likely set all the franchise records for passing and he still sucks in your mind?

I don't think this is fair to Stafford. He has given a lot (and been paid a lot, too) to what is arguably the worst franchise in professional North American sports. He shows up, plays hurt, doesn't complain, and takes responsibility when he has bad games. I don't think Tom Brady would be who he is if he was mired in the Lions organization. Let Stafford play 12 years in a quality organizaation and he may well be an HoFer.
