And so did MSU.

Having a QB who can throw helps.  Barrett was bad the final 3 games of this year.  You put the apparently much hated Speight in that offense and they'd at least score vs Clemson.  If you put Barrett on UM's offense vs OSU we might have been shut out.

Here are Barrett's stats the last 3 games:

  • 10/22 86 yds
  • 15/32 124 yds
  • 19/33 127 yds

Tell me how OSU's offense would run with Nick Sheridan running it.  Never mind, we just saw it.

I would say Harbaugh made the best possible defense hire last year.  As for offensive hires, that's a completely different monster.  Who else runs a Harbaugh offense?  There are buckets of coaches that run various spreads, but guys who run jumbo athlete multiple personnel group packages are few and far between in college football these days.  So you're not likely to see a college HC come to UM like Wilson to OSU.

Concussion? Go run a few miles and report back to me. Hamstring pull? Go run up and down those steps a few hundred times.

That is a damn good hire. At least as far as getting Kevin Wilson is concerned. We all hated having to play IU while he was HC there. His offenses lit the scoreboard up, and that was with a bunch of scrappy 2-3 star kids. Now he's getting access to 4-5 star talent across the board.

If he teaches JT how to throw the ball, I'm already not looking forward to having to play them.

And this Ryan Day guy...don't know too much about him, but his stints in Philly and San Francisco don't do much to make me quiver in my boots.

Wilson is a good choice, though if he left IU for personal reasons (which I've read as rumors), then I wonder if they are slow-playing this a bit to see if he can assure them they won't return.  Day seems pretty meh, given the fact that when he was last in college at BC his QBs completed a bit under 60% of their throws and threw 18 picks to only 30 TDs.  I mean, I'm sure he'll be "fine", but I don't see him dramatically improving Barrett's performance in the air.

Did anyone really think that Meyer would care about personal issues?  C'mon.   Look at the arrest record of his players during his stint as Florida coach.

Meyer cares about one thing--winning.  Things like whether you've been accused of abusing players are irrelevant.

Two coaches are leaving from OSU: one offensive, one defensive. Why would they hire two offensive guys. Who will replace Fickel coaching LBs? Just seems odd.

freshman. Next year hopefully if Barret leaves it will be Haskins (big arm) or joe burrows who has a cannon compared to Barret and a much more confident passer.

Harbaugh called Joe Burrow on the phone a couple years ago and tried to recruit him but Joe was already committed to Ohio State.  So Harbaugh thought very highly of him.

I think Wilson is a great offensive mind and he won't be able to pull that PT stuff unless Urban shares that philosophy. Don Brown's job just got harder.

This is a scary hire. I think that we can bet on personalities clashing but to have 3 head coaches on a team is quite hilarious. No matter the cause, I hope they implode and I hope they lose their opener to Indiana on Thursday night. fOSU!!!

to take the grimiest path possible.

You reap what you sow.  It will all come apart just like at UF. Always taking the low character route. Too bad Aaron Hernandez isn't around to coach his tight ends.
