I have to agree with the buckeye fan on this one. As much as i wanted to hate on OSU for that incident, the way it was first presented was like he absolutely went Pacquiao on the woman with a right cross. After seeing the video it was a lot tamer than that. The woman did seem to be the one escalating the confrontation. Hyde should've had greater restraint, but the media did blow the incident out of proportion a little.
His hand made contact with her face according to the news.
Buckeyes still trying to spin horrible buckeye player news...
He just hit her in the face because she was a lot shorter than him.
Seems legit (although UM doesn't get the same sort of consideration in Columbus).
it's not a punch when you hit with your weak arm.
Also you should be permanently banned here for referring to a woman as a "mouthy woman".
That indicates shamefully enough, that a woman is to keep quiet, and that mentality has no place on Michigan websites.
Words don’t deserve physical contact unless there’s an imminent threat. So STFU with a “mouthy woman” excuse. Deserved to be kicked off the team for that.
what about the columbus police? what did the report say? . . . Oh wait a second.
Zone 86'd
But I’m sure the real travesty is Harbaugh continuing to not wear suits to the press conference and being 1-5 against OSU and MSU.
Absolutely a knee-jerk reaction. Would have been swept under the rug if it wasn't for an individual posting information on a sports message board. Urby hides the crime all the time.
Not so tough now, Smith. Huh? All that shit talking. Fuck you, loser and abuser.
Even without the DV charges and previous incidents which are of course dealbreakingly awful, Zach Smith was widely considered to be a bad-to-mediocre WR coach even by most OSU fans. And he basically acted the fool as well. And while there are lots of unflattering and probably not untrue things you can say (and good heavens we have) about Urban Meyer, he's never struck me as someone who suffers fools gladly
He employed the guy for almost a decade. And also hired two guys from PSU that probably knew what was going on there. And hired a coach that was fired for mistreating his players. He seems to suffer fools a great deal. When they become a burden to him is when he cuts ties.
You're right but I should probably have rephrased my earlier post to clarify but imagine my surprise when I COUDLN'T EDIT MY POSTS.
*ahem*
What I meant was that even if we assume the worst about Larry Johnson, Greg Schiano, and Kevin Wilson (which I'm fine with), they're all very good at coaching the footballs so, if you leave out the potential baggage, they've at least earned their keep as coaches. Zach Smith... hasn't.
...which makes it a bit surprising he stuck around as long as he did.
"Zach was first arrested in 2009. I was way too busy helping Aaron Hernandez dump bodies into the Gulf in 2009 to be bothered by a wife beater." - Refreshingly honest Urban Meyer
So his first domestic violence incident occurred when he was a GA for Urban at Florida. He then has another in 2015 while entrenched as Urban’s WR coach at OSU.
The ONLY reason they fired him is because it got public attention. I’d be infuriated if Inwere an OSU fan. 1. Because that’s really scummy, and 2. He’s an average at best position coach.
Yeah the hilarious part is he's shit at preparing WRs for the NFL
And how can you prepare for the NFL, if your offense isn't suitable for transition
That's why they have to prepare all their QBs to be WRs in the NFL
He's been a well known piece of shit person but they keep him until it becomes too public that he's an abuser. Classic ohio, who also has Meyer and Schiano on staff lmao
It is basically the same as what is going on with Izzo and Dantini. It would have gotten 10 times the coverage at Michigan and Beilein and Harbaugh would have already been fired. OSU and MSU receive preferential treatment from the Big Ten and from the media.
hahaha Dantini,, I like that nickname.... +1 to you, TY... intended or not....
So, to recap. They fired him, not for his crimes, but for it coming to public light. Stay classy, OSU.
How can we return to OLD FORMAT? After several months of frustration, I am reaching walk away level. Does anyone else share this view.
Apparently this was a "tough decision" ??
Seriously - Urban says this was a tough call?!?!?!?!
Classic OSU
