Opening Football Game Ticket Giveaway
What: Four 40 yard line tickets to the Middle Tennessee game on 8/31. I'll give away two pairs of tickets.
Story: These season tickets have been in my family since the 1920s when my grandfather attended Michigan. My Dad, also a Michigan alumnus, has attended games since the 1950s. I have gone to games since 1990, but now I live in New York and generally only get out to a single game each year. He is now, unfortunately, living with Alzheimers and can no longer attend games. To celebrate my father and fathers in general, I've decided to donate or gift most of my tickets for the coming years on his behalf. The MGoBlog community will be the recipient of tickets to one of the games each year.
Requirements and Rules:
1) You attend the game with your father OR you are a father and attend with your son or daughter.
2) If you win, you make a donation to NAMI: The National Alliance on Mental Illness, a cause important to my father and our family. Donate whatever you feel comfortable with.
3) Enter by replying on this thread. Deadline is midnight at the end of Monday, August 19th.
4) One entry per person.
5) I'll use a random number generator to pick two winners of two tickets each and announce those winners in a new thread at noon on Tuesday, August 20th.
6) Winners will have 24 hours to acknowledge their win and claim their prize.
Mods were able to put me in touch via email with the winners. Would be much appreciated if they could do the same this year! At that point, I can transfer tickets online or send the physical tickets or both.

This is very generous of you and an awesome way to help others create the kinds of experiences your family has shared for nearly a century in the big house. Amazing! I will be flying in from CA with my soon-to-be 10-year old son to attend the season opener. This will be our first night game in the big house and will be awesome! I'm sorry to hear about your dad; we're dealing with similar situations with my father-in-law and step dad. Aging is tough. Thank you again for your generosity and Go Blue!

Awesome. My dad (a Minnesota alum) got me into Big Ten football. Ever since I came to Michigan for grad school, he’s adopted Michigan as his second favorite team. Now I’m faculty. It was great to take him to the Ohio State game a couple of years back.
I’m taking my son to the opening game. Please count me in!

Thanks for doing this! Please enter me in the drawing. My Dad has been going to UM games for 50 years. Had a bad stroke last year - was told he had a 3% chance to survive the 1st week - and he has not only survived but battled back to the point where we can take him in a wheelchair to the park, the Botanical Gardens, and now... a UM football game. Anyway - will support the cause, win or lose. Thanks again!

I understand the rules of giving 2 separate pairs but I would you consider a loving father of 2 who would also take his father for the 4?
I would love to be entered but couldn't take one son without the other being by my side. Neither of the have been to a game yet. I just moved back to Michigan and coach football for the high school I went to.

This is awesome! Full disclosure: my daughter and I were the fortunate recipients of these tickets last year. It was her first UM game, and we had a fantastic day. We would love to go again. Joe, if you would rather exclude me from the drawing to spread your gift around, I understand. Regardless I have already made another donation to this great cause, and encourage to do so as well if you can. Thanks!

If it's okay, I'll get in on this. All of my tickets are accounted for, except MTSU. Good karma to trade them for a donation to OP's charity instead of sending more fees Stubhub's way. My two seats aren't as good, Section 4, Row 82 (easy in and out, though). Same deal as OP. Go with your dad or your kid, and make whatever donation you choose to OP's charity.

What a great idea and please put me in the drawing as well. This will be my first time back in AA since graduated from UM in 1988 and I am looking forward to take my 2 daughters (one is an incoming UM freshman with her own student season ticket) to their first college football game+first visit to the Big House. I am more than happy to make a donation to NAMI either way.
