Ohio State - Oklahoma: Does anyone on this board pull for the Buckeyes?

Submitted by KennyHiggins on

I'm sure there will be a few that say that this early in the season all B1G victories against Top 10 opponents are positive for CFP positioning in November.  Not once in 50+ years have I ever pulled for OSU.  That won't change Saturday.  Love to see them fail, lose some recruiting battles, have some RB controversies, etc.

1) OSU did just fine recruiting and projecting power when Michigan entered its dark age.

2) The rest of the schools in conference were fine with kicking Michigan when Michigan was down.

3) The Game was fixed last year by the conference.

where I would root for OSU to win.

While I firmly believe they will beat OU by at least 17 points, I will watching openly and loudly rooting for the Sooners.

I will be rooting for the Broncos and the Dawgs as well.

I NEVER root for OSU, MSU or ND to EVER win a football game.  I might hope for a meteor to hit the stadium or armageddon to take place if any two of these three play each other, but this bullshit about rooting for the conference in all OOC games is absolute HORSESHIT.  MSU, ND AND OSU can die in a fire every freakin' Saturday.

I can't be any more plain than that.

It's been so long since we played them, I don't even care about Notre Dame anymore. I sorta don't want to see the series restarted next year. Notre Dame is destined to be a tweener team, good enough to maybe give you a game, not good enough to get any credit for beating them at the end of the season. It feels like we'd get little out of playing them at home every year and I certainly don't want to go back to playing them away.

I'm rooting for North Korea to attempt to drop one on Columbus but it gets shot out of the sky. Just enough to see all of Ohio collectively shit their pants.

I hope that Ohio State loses in a heartbreaking fashion. I don't care how it happens, but I want it to be crushing.

PS- I realize this makes me sound like I need therapy. Perhaps a large Michigan win Saturday provides some relief.

Dumbest thing and question I've came across today. Here's what I think about the cheating low life horse's asses. You guys never knew what a buckeye was. Well now you know. It's a horses ass. Okay?

I always support Big Ten Teams because a stronger conference builds the standing of Michigan. That even goes for Michigan State as well.

The one exception to that is, whether it makes sense or not, I don't like Ohio State winning at anything.

If Ohio State was the last thing remaining that could save the earth from an alien invasion, I would want them to lose to the aliens.

It's tough. Realistically the B1G could get 2 teams in the playoff this year if both Michigan and Ohio State are undefeated going into that last game. OU plays in a soft conference, an early season loss really diminishes the Big XII's chances of getting a playoff team. Pac 12 has a high chance of not having a playoff team. For that reason, you'd like to pull for Ohio State.

Of course losing on the recruiting trail and for the past decade does not feel good, and every loss for OSU helps to (hopefully) turn that around.

So for that reason, most outcomes from this game have both pros and cons for UM - but I'd much rather have OSU win this game and then drop a couple of conference games.

Sorry but people who want OSU to wi because it "raises the profile of the conference" are dumb Did it matter when OSU lost to Tech in '14 and barely beat a 5-7 Hokr sqaud? No? Then shut up. Honestly people who want MSU, ND or OSU to win i always look at side ways.

In a respectable conference a 1 loss team gets in the playoff. In the Big 12 a 1 loss team plays in the outback bowl. I personally love having 4 teams in the top 10 and I hope Michigan is the first team to beat all of the others.

I go back and forth between...

A) Thoroughly enjoying the ridiculous fan reaction when they lose (aka fire the coach immediately despite the fact he's won us National Champtionships and has us in contention every single year wah wah wah wah!!!)

AND

B) The absolute joy that I would feel if they came into Ann Arbor undefeated with eveything on the line and got absolutely punched in the face by the Wolverines. (sadly some of us are old enough to remember when that was a thing that actually happened in real space and time.)

On average, around 48 weeks out of the year.

It's always better beating formerly undefeated Buckeyes than mediocre Buckeyes.

As an aside, I mostly don't care if Sparty lives or dies.

And may I add, that this is a peaceful way to live.

I recommend it.

wow I can't believe how many people in this thread root for the Buckeyes in various situations including bowl games. Pathetic! You should be ashamed of yourselves!
