Michigan v Michigan State Open Thread

The earliest teaching in basketball is stop the ball. Not a single Wolverine stopped the ball. Come on guys.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
That first steal by Houstan and Hunter was fools’ gold, because their guards are turning that pick and hedge into a lay-up line.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
If we can force a halfcourt game we're better. But possibly a big if.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
Why aren't they going under screens? State's point guards aren't shooters, especially Hoggard
January 29th, 2022 at 1:16 PM ^
Michigan needs 3s, said Mr. Obvious
January 29th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
Fo we maybe want to stop the only offense they have thus far (wide open 3s...Diabate had a hand in his face that time but jeez)
January 29th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
how is that a tie up. marble barely got a finger on it
January 29th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
Jones!
January 29th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
Helluva finish Jones!!!
January 29th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
Jones did a basketball thing!!
January 29th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
Jones, you beautiful SOB!
January 29th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
jones with the ymca play there
January 29th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
Nice work Jones!
great hustle in getting the steal for the tie up and now just a filthy steal for the and 1
January 29th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
zero need to overplay walker out there. he can't shoot for shit.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
You better tell Walker that. Three!
January 29th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
I like our board play
January 29th, 2022 at 1:20 PM ^
This team is looking very poised.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:20 PM ^
not a fan of the last 3 diabate shots. all away from the basket.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:20 PM ^
Diabate, you did not need to do that.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:20 PM ^
Feel like Diabate has the athleticism to rise up more there versus fade away...which does not help his already unorthodox shot.
Maybe not?
January 29th, 2022 at 1:20 PM ^
I don’t like Diabate fading away. I like him going towards the basket.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
Diabate has to learn the tao of passing it back out and reposting. When he gets a post up it's almost always going up.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
Diabate is what he is. His aggression usually works out great but sometimes it produces a bad shot.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
Some better defense here the last few possesions
January 29th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
I hate Izzo
January 29th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
I hate Izzo
January 29th, 2022 at 1:33 PM ^
How does he not get Td up
January 29th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
How many times has Izzo actually cried during games?
January 29th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
terrible half at finishing near the rim today
January 29th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
FINISH you're 7feet tall.
Goddammit guys make fucking layups.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
An ANGRY little elf, isn't he?
January 29th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Can’t make 3s, can’t make bunnies. Ugh. So many points left on the floor.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
We are lucky to be down only 4. Missing shots left and right while MSU is bombing threes.
It feels like we should be down 14.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Is every guy that goes to MSU the same exact person? So obnoxious.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
They’re shooting good… we are not. Still in it
January 29th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Where’s the foul?? They show Izzo complaining so much he’s working the refs. Then no call on HD.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
These refs need to give Izzo a technical foul. Sick of his whining ass.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:37 PM ^
he's a hater, like you are, saggie. agree?
January 29th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Dominated the boards, won the turnover battle, and getting open looks.
But they just aren't going in.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
It took 52% shooting to keep a 4-pt lead at the half, and Michigan is playing DUMB bball. Stop the idiotic mistakes and quick 'its on me' shot selection, hit a few shots, and this can be a fairly easy win.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
MSU is shooting the lights out. Hopefully it evens out in the 2nd half.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
I like their fight today. Dickinson has missed at least three easy shots today, he needs to clean that shit up for us to maintain a lead.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
36% from the field, 12% from 3. Really hard to beat a good team shooting those numbers while they're shooting over 50% from both. Hopefully the shooting balances out in the second half, but knowing our terrible defense and our bad 3 point shooting, seems very unlikely. Although I'm sure the 2 point shooting will improve.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
sparty 6-11 from 3. we are 1-8. we need to stay the course and keep pounding it down low. sparty can't keep up that pace from 3.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
I mean, pretty good half all things considered.
Michigan not hitting 3s whereas MSU is at 50%... i don't think that is sustainable.
Houstan didn't look very good in the first - played hard, but not getting open looks so he is forcing things a bit.
Moussa has been excellent. Jones has been pretty good I think as well.
Michigan needs someone else to step up here - the TOs have kept Michigan in it.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
Did anyone catch that fat MSU dork getting in the UM players' faces as they were running off the court? What a loser.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
A lot going on there in that half. Plenty of positives but our defense isn’t one of them. They are getting better shots than we are. We can’t stay in front of anybody.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:30 PM ^
jones was my biggest worry. getting blown by a lot. we went up against some bad guards the past few games making him look better. walker isn't really very good either, but he is quicker.
January 29th, 2022 at 1:49 PM ^
Lateral quickness just isn’t there for him.
