Michigan should have MORNING games

"Can you imagine the electricity of a dawn football game? We could stay up all night boozing, and then be super drunk when kickoff happened! We could have eggs and bacon at the concession stands! The crowd would be crazy!!!!!! We could play "easy like sunday morning" and all SING before the team ran on the field!" - excerpt from my last forum post "michigan should play at dawn" - tyrone butterfield ----==-=-=-=-=-=-= Yes that's right I think that Michigan football should not be a follower and instead be a trendsetter. WE are MICHIGAN! we should play games at 530 AM on Saturdays!!! Can you imgaine how awesome this would be guys?!!!!!!!!!!! You could go out ALL NIGHT on friday with your freinds and then top it off by going to the football game at daybreak!!! the crowd would be super NUTS because they would all be crazy from staying up all night and the outside is really quiet at this time so there would be a big contrast between the fan noise at the stadium and the noise that is inside the stadium so the other team would go crazy with all the contrasting noise and the fact they are sleep deprived and on a totally messed up schedule ad probably didn't get a chance to eat a proper breakfast because of the travel and teams would be scared again. The assistant AD says I need to get some uspport and then we'll get this done!!! MAKE MICHIGAN SCARY!!! Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Strata INGREDIENTS 12 thick slices white bread, cut into 1 inch cubes 1/4 cup crumbled cooked bacon 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh mushrooms (optional) 12 eggs 2 1/2 cups half-and-half 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard DIRECTIONS Toss cubed bread with bacon, cheese, and mushrooms, and pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, and mustard until smooth, then pour evenly over cubed bread. Cover dish with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove plastic wrap from the baking dish, and bake strata in preheated oven until the top is golden brown, and the eggs are set, about 1 hour. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Hell with it. We really ought to be scheduling our games in July and August. The Florida guys will be used to the heat and all the instate recruiting Dantonio is doing will be for naught as the northerners collapse in the sweltering sun. Scheduling games out of season - that's the Michigan Difference (TM).

To truly be a trendsetter we could achieve the best of both worlds and have a Night/Morning game at 12:01 AM EDT. In doing so we would guarantee to be the first game to kick off on Saturday morning and also get to play under the lights..Imagine the horror if we were to wear black uniforms as well...

I watch my UM football games at 8am in Alaska. Gameday gets to be a bit early to wake up for, but it's kinda cool. The game gets over early and you still have the rest of the day to get stuff done around the house. (even though I still watch the rest of the games all day) If you started them at 5:30 am eastern well,,,, then it's a late friday night game for me!

I was gonna say, out here on the left coast, that would make games really early for me. Really, I would treat it as a late friday night game. It would be 230am here, so football would start about when I got home from the bar, even leaving me some time to grab pita pit and pack a bowl. Nice, Dex.

If every team had to switch to 5:30 AM games Michigan would suddenly have the loudest crowd in the nation. All the old people would be at their ideal time to be active, plus they won't be hungover like most fans of every other team. I guess BYU might still have us beat though.

It would be both fun and unique, and you could tell yourself (and your wife) that you have already done something useful on your Saturday (maybe, those chores could be pushed back a little).

As someone who did his undergrad work at Michigan, I would be upset to see the Maize & Blue try to steal someone else's tradition. I'm currently a graduate Alchemy student at Kennesaw State at Kennesaw Tech in Walhalla, North Dakota. Every year our big rivalry game against Prairie View A & M is held at 3am MST. There are bars specifically built into Dick Lebeau Field at Matt Miller Stadium that open up at 10pm on Friday night and allow fans to drink at the game for five hours before walking to their seats. Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the buzz you get from rootin' on our Fighting Halloweenies in their fuchsia & silver uniforms ("Fuchsia for the fall sky, silver for the twinkle in the eye!") in the middle of the god damn night. If you're wondering why you might not have heard of this, it's because this game is the only KS@KT event televised each year. Obviously, it's on in the middle of the night EST, and you can only find it on the Oxygen channel. The founder of said womens' network bought the rights to the game because she (he?) was actually the first male midget to have a sex change performed at our branch campus, Kennesaw State at Kennesaw Tech Junior Community College at Grand Forks, which some of you might recognize as the school Dan Marino played his JuCo ball at before transferring to Pitt. Please, let's keep the discussion to Michigan switching to Black uniforms and playing every game at 8PM. Go Blue!/Go Fightin' Halloweenies!

Kickoff as the first rays of sunlight creep over the horizon, game over in time to catch the second hour of Gameday, then free to watch all the noon games. On the downside, there would probably be more of the blue-hair/down in front crowd, making their way over from Country Kitchen Buffet.

This game should also be played without lights. Lights are artificial and taint the purity of Michigan football. Only the sun's rays are pure enough to shine on Michigan a football game.

We should play games at the same time as before, but interrupt them at 4 o'clock for afternoon tea and crumpets. The legions of former Martha Cook residents among our alumni would be enraptured.

As the sun rises in the east, sometime in the middle of the second quarter, reflecting its golden rays upon the glory of a maized-out stadium, the sheer brilliance of light will surely blind all who stand upon the visitor's sideline.

We could play the first half in the dark in black unis and the second half could be played in the sun in maize unis giving us a double advantage. It would be the best mimosa and bloody mary tailgating in the nation.

thx for all the support guys i have lots of other ideas too do you think it would be cool if instead of a middle linebacker we had a feral wolverine? how about if we replaced the "victors" which is kinda old and the blue hairs thing with "metalingus" by alter bridge the crowd would be louder? how about if we stapled thunderstix to the arms and legs of the crowd that way even if you aren't cheering you can just move and make lots of noise i saw a study once that said oregon (even though they are super shitty i eman that dennis dixon guy sucked they never have good teams) is good because they win every single home game (they loose every away game) because the other teams pee themselves its so loud there they loose control of their bladders so i think if we did that it would help wit hthe noise. also we should get rid of hanidcapped seating because they can't stand or if they want to come to the game we should at least put a laser on their chairs. finally i think it would be awesome if we sprayed booze on the crowd from a hot air balloon every tv timeout we could have like six balloons to cover the entire stadium adnt they would dump grain alochol onto the crowd and you could catch it with your university provided funnel.

Well, to be sure we would get adequate TV coverage, I think the game should be played on a Tuesday morning. Think about it! A Tuesday sunrise black out game with Army! (The Black Knights, of course). Have a funeral procession before the game. Play lots of Black Sabbath. Intimidate the heck out of Army. Just got to get the shine out of those bricks before game time. If only there were a substance we could use to do this....
