It looks like they just put grey hair on the Harbaugh face.

It sounds like you and many others are erasing everything but last night.

Imperfection! Burn it down!

10/08/2017 - 11:25pm This stupid sentiment...

This "Dantonio outcoached Harbaugh" narrative is true, but misleading and dumb. Dantonio 'coached' a very mediocre game while Harbaugh's offense imploded. MSU got a number of lucky bounces and enjoyed the benefit of +5 in turnovers and scraped out a win by 4 points. Michigan's offensive gameplan was bad, and I'm as pissed about it as we all are, but this game wasn't some genius coaching coup by Dantonio.

10/08/2017 - 12:42am Young season

Each of the last three National Champions have lost at home early in the season and rallied around it. I hope that this game reveals at last to Harbaugh that something big needs to change in the offense braintrust. If so, we can recover. If not, we Hoke now. I don't think he wants to be Hoke.

10/08/2017 - 12:36am Not a better team, but one you can still lose to

Like Iowa last year, Michigan again lost to a worse team because of offensive ineptitude. It's like Borges never left.

10/08/2017 - 12:32am Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind, eh?

Some just-regular enthusiasm might have won today.

10/08/2017 - 12:21am Once

Well, they did that one time. It was a TD called back on a relevant holding, but the guy was WWAAAYYY open. Phew, glad we didn't try that again!

Wow, 54,543 words! Here's to the far-off day the preview hits 109,901. The "01"st word will be reserved for Brian, though no one will know exactly which word it is. Probably something like "kerfuffle" or "like-substance".

08/11/2016 - 1:36pm Zero

None, because we need to be breaking in the 2017/18 starters/backups during garbage time.

03/10/2016 - 1:08pm Mental mistake. He thought it

Mental mistake. He thought it was G Robinson, whom he expected to be five feet farhter up in the air by then.

11/22/2015 - 2:48pm Maybe

Really, if two days ago you thought that MSU would face Penn State without Cook, what would you say? I'd say Penn State had a chance. The only thing that happened since then is Ohio State choked hard.

10/18/2015 - 12:51am Don't worry about recruits

This sentiment is tiresome and incorrect. Recruits don't come to a game and say "I'll go to whatever school wins."

02/11/2015 - 11:49am I think you mean butthole.

I think you mean butthole. Like people think Harbaugh is a "butthole". It's a compliment.

12/19/2014 - 7:23pm Me too.

I'm getting the ghost clicks on my iPhone 5 also.

10/04/2014 - 9:36am Actually...

Hoke's record has improved greatly since he has been at Michigan.

09/11/2014 - 10:36pm Perfect

Wow, your comments hit the nail on the head for me. Looking back at the Hoke era it's hard to hang a coaching hat on ANY victory. The big wins felt a lot more like the result of luck and/or individual player skill than any aspect of coaching.

Hoke's Michigan just doesn't feel like a program that is looking for ways to win. It feels like a program that is committed to doing things a certain way and assumes that this loyalty will lead to wins. Q: "How are you going to beat team X?" A: "By being Michigan."

09/07/2014 - 3:47pm Amen

With this, correct, perspective it's really funny that we're scratching our heads and wondering why our MAC-level coach has given us a MAC-level team.

09/07/2014 - 3:25pm Other programs just want to

Other programs just want to win. Michigan wants a nice guy who loves the program and gets along with all of the alumni and has connections to coaches past and is his players' best friend and believes unflinchingly in the 'old ways'...

and also wins.

09/07/2014 - 3:14pm You know I felt the same way.

You know I felt the same way. Despite the score it really felt like we were just not finishing while Notre Dame was just playing very very well. the first half anyway. Then it felt like it all started to get into our teams' heads and that's when they really started unfolding.

09/01/2014 - 12:01am Hey, we tried it...

Poopin' gold.

Six points, man! SIX!! Even if the defense plays well we lose this one 21-6 or so a la the Nebraska or Iowa games.

Also, your oldest son's girlfriend: Woof!

12/02/2013 - 6:31pm Well

A powerful running back in a spread offense is still a spread offense. Hyde might not have gotten 8 yards per carry if M could have committed 8 guys to the box. Having Miller back there and receivers in space made that impossible. It wasn't just Manball.

11/23/2013 - 11:40pm Fans are looking at this team

Fans are looking at this team and seeing regression. I believe that they would accept the youth/transition arguement and be patient if this team was stuggling, but getting better. It is not. Both last year and this, the team has gotten worse over the course of the season.

Do we need to wait for a senior 5-star QB? Devin Gardner. NFL talent on the O-line? Lewan and Schofield. Playmakers at WR? Gallon, Dileo, Funchess. A 1000-yard RB? Toussaint.

I'm sorry, but there is plenty of talent here and this staff is squandering it. How can we trust that future talent will fare any better once we've waited for year 5?

11/23/2013 - 8:01pm Maybe if we win the turnover

Maybe if we win the turnover battle like 3-1 and get a score on defense and they miss an easy field goal... Wait, that happened today.

11/23/2013 - 5:51pm Jesus, I hate these coaches

Jesus, I hate these coaches even more now. Gardner is like an abused spouse blaming himself.

11/23/2013 - 5:10pm Exactly! Gardner was a five

Exactly! Gardner was a five star, elite 11 recruit with obvious physical talent and just look what this staff has turned him into.

11/23/2013 - 4:18pm "Guys like Saban, Miles,

"Guys like Saban, Miles, Harbaugh, Meyer etc. are not coming to Michigan."

There is your answer. A "guy like that" went to Alabama, LSU, and OSU. You can't base an elite program solely on pride and tradition. We can either do whatever it takes to get a proven elite coach or we can take chances on up-and-coming project coaches.

11/23/2013 - 4:09pm I would like to start a

I would like to start a campaign against the notion that any coaching change would necessarily be painful. Just hire a coach that is ready for a program like Michigan, give him the support he needs, and he will know what to do. Example: Ohio State.

If Hoke is not the guy, and two years of steady regression tells me that he is not, replace him! Otherwise we are just playing scared, with a it-could-be-worse mentality.

11/23/2013 - 4:00pm I think a lot of us were

I think a lot of us were weary of the Hoke hire, but getting Mattison and then the 2011 season just disarmed our correct reservations. An elite CEO-style coach is already planning his next OC and I doubt Hoke is doing that.

11/23/2013 - 3:50pm I respectfully disagree.

I respectfully disagree. Players drop passes and make little mistakes in every game. The issue is that our scheme only seems to generate handful of good plays per game and when someone drops the ball it a just gets magnified. These mistakes kill drives and turn TDs into FGs. They don't explain 158 total yards of offense.

11/23/2013 - 3:45pm Every week, every year.

Every week, every year.

11/23/2013 - 3:44pm Maybe we should have someone

Maybe we should have someone coaching our QBs... I wonder if any other schools do that?

11/23/2013 - 3:37pm Michigan is looking up at MSU

Michigan is looking up at MSU and Iowa right now. Just a few fortunate comebacks away from being 5-6 right now.

11/18/2013 - 6:56am That first line was posted

That first line was posted before the comeback Saturday night when they assumed we would lose and fire Borges immediately.

11/17/2013 - 1:46pm I second that.

11/10/2013 - 9:02am Yes, at this point they all

Yes, at this point they all need to be double-fired!
