Michigan Fan Reactions Beating Ohio State 2021 & 2022

Submitted by bdneely4 on November 28th, 2022 at 7:33 AM

I think I posted this last year and thought I would do it again.  These are not my videos so whoever did this, thank you for putting it together.  Besides winning The Game, there is not much better to me than watching our fans go crazy and Ohio State fans sulking in their spoiled misery.  I added 2021 and 2022 so you can relive both experiences because to me they were completely different.  Enjoy and Go Blue!

I thought it was so telling that the team won and was ready for more. Last year, it was all about beating OSU. They jumped around and squealed with joy.. As did I... This year, they took the win in stride and were already thinking of next week. They jogged off the sidelines to high five, find the fans and enjoy the moment.

Gotta love the raised expectations!!!!

The first video will always get me emotionally for obvious reasons.  Even the decision for the music from the first video to the next is perfect.  The first video has a Hoosier's movie vibe to it where the 2nd video has a more confident and dominating type music to it.  Maybe this makes no sense at all, but I just feel the music choice was very well done for each video.

Ohio came to bury Michigan
All wrapped in maize and blue
The words were said, the prayers were read
And everybody cried
But when they closed the coffin
It was someone else inside!

The Bucks came to bury the Wolverines
But Michigan wasn't dead
And when the game was over
It was someone else instead

Twenty-two Michigan Wolverines
Put on the gloves of gray
And as Haithcock played "The Victors"
They laid Ryan Day away.

Been watching Michigan since Jim Tressel took the Ohio State job.  I grew up hearing about Michigan's dominance in the 90's, but never saw it with my own eyes.

This is literally the first time in my life that I've seen us own Ohio State and I can't put into words how happy it makes me

My daughter has a video of me losing my shit during the first Donovan Edwards touchdown.  My voice achieved an octave I never realized I could reach.

I think it was the combination of the shock of what was happening, knowing that it was "game over" with the score at 38-23, and the elation of winning in Columbus and for a second year in a row.

I'm happy to say that my BPONE has been long-gone all year long...and this past weekend's result may have permanently eradicated it from my psyche!

Last year I said that ohio could come into the game with a loss or two, I didn't think Stroud was as good as billed and I don't think Day is a great coach.  After last year Day overhauled his staff, so what this year????   Its going to become more obvious that he's in over his head, he took over a team with enough talent to out play is coaching ability... but now that he's lost THE game back to back, its going to start eroding.

The narrowly beat ND, they benefited from some good fortune in turnovers late vs PSU, MD and NW gave them all they could handle... The could have, probably should have, lost one of those.  And for the second year in a row, they were essentially bullied in THE game.  Only ND and NW held them to fewer points.   Last year the first half felt more comfortable than it did this year for sure, but 2nd half dominance is what we have done all season long.

I do believe the game plan was to use the passing game in the 1st 1/2 to set up for pounding them on the ground in the 2nd 1/2..... it worked perfectly.   If #2 was healthy, we would have been moving the ball on the ground in the 1st 1/2 as well.     buckeye nation is already growing impatient with day.....   watch him lose a few high profile recruiting battles....  drop a game or two next season prior to THE game.... and his seat will be very warm.   Personally, I hope they crush their bowl opponent and roll into A2 11-0 next year.... I hope they give him a lifetime extension, I think we have a great chance in every game he's coaching against us.

from social media a lot of the post game reaction was people spouting off about how overrated OSU was, not how Michigan dismantled a former #2.  I guarantee those same people were not saying that prior to the game.  Probably the same people bashing and calling Michigan overrated for squeaking by one of the best defenses in college football a week prior.  Illinois had some bad losses but they still have a better D than OSU.  If they had a more competent offense they’d be playing this weekend.

Those games happen over a 12 game season.   last year it was the Nebraska game, Michigan was not quite in sync, but a big play like a forced fumble turns out to be key to overcome it.   UGA struggled against Mizzou and needed 2 4th quarter TD to overcome a deficit.  To an extent every team is vulnerable against anyone.  Calling a legitimate contender overrated discounts what the team that beats them did.  We smacked the sh!t out of the prior #2 in their house, that doesn’t happen.  Not by Dantonio, not by Franklin, never by any cupcakes scheduled at The Toilet from out of conference.

I had to work Saturday but was pleasantly surprised to find the stream of the game posted so I got to see it. The first half I was kind of subdued at first, seeing the run game bottled up like it was while OSU seemingly moved the ball at will. Then came the JJ and cj connections. The first one I thought was a great play but also a kind of fluke that wasn’t repeatable. After the second one, and especially after I saw the replay of cj’s route that toasted the OSU player, I started to truly believe. OSU got theirs on their next series with Harrison but even that seemed an “oh well” moment that never dampened my enthusiasm.

When Michigan came out in the second half and scored a TD I started going nuts in my little office area. Each subsequent drive, either OSU punting or Michigan scoring i started screaming louder and louder. It was awesome and no one was around to notice or stop me, lol.

I hope that, since I work again this Saturday night, the streaming link gets posted again so I can watch the b1g championship game. I’ll be going nuts again and no one will be around to see it, as if I would care anyways.
