There are some absolutely worthless posts here (case in point and damn me to hell for rehashing this shitshow - but the recent topics about a prominent member here and the flouncy "I'm outta here" post by another user in reaction to it?  Jeezy farking cripes.)

I have the luxury of not having to read through all the dross since I'm not a mod but the mods do and if they'd rather cut their losses then that's fine.

This is a sample size of one, but on the whole I'm mostly fine with the state of the board - there are often a lot of intelligent discussions and a reasonable amount of silliness mixed in.  Rolling my eyes at the occassional shitpost is merely the price of admission.  It's not a case of a spoonful of sewage contaminating an entire barrelful of wine.  But if the blogrunners want to have a little less sewage than I'm more than fine with that.

Hey Brian,

Can we still have Marsupial Monday once a year?  I know it's pretty useless, but I promise it will only be the last Monday of OT season and never more than that. I'm willing to pay you $5 dollars for this.

Everytime I get buried in a meeting here at the office all hell breaks loose on the board.

I miss all the good stuff.  What was being posted that prompted THIS thread?

The Joe Bolden at the Shrine Game practices thread you see was accidently posted three times.  So another sacastic thread went up asking if anyone knew how Bolden was doing in Shrine Game practices.  Had to be that one that put Brian over the edge.

Perhaps some type of framework that codifies what is and is not a "useless new topic."  I mean, we know the rough outline of the offense and we're all very clear on the punishment, but by any legal standard this new rule  should be void for vagueness.

To that end I propose a new thread where we discuss what should and should not constitute a "useless new topic."  And for that matter there are clear tangential issues that should be considered.  Is the use of OT in the heading merely a guide for fearless leader to nuke the crap out of the poster, or are there certain OTs that are less OT than other OTs?

So yeah, if someone could just start up the thread I mentioned above that would be much appreciated.  I have an appointment I can't miss or you know I'd do it myself...

When I'm drivin' in my car
And that man comes on the radio
He's tellin' me more and more
About some USELESS information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can't get no, oh no, no, no
Hey hey hey, that's what I say . . .
