Not aggressive enough. Happy with a blowout win, though so I won't complain too much.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:21 PM ^
WTF you talkin bout?
Up 14 with 38 minutes to play is exactly when to start working the clock.
November 3rd, 2019 at 1:11 PM ^
Thanks, Lloyd.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
They ran a fake punt to convert a 4th and 1 at their own 30. Followed by a bomb to Collins which resulted in a TD to go up 21-0. Game was effectively over at that point since Maryland has just scored 0 points on two long drives.
not aggressive enough?
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
That was following I think the 3rd(?) straight 3&out after going up 14-0. Seemed like they were intent to try to pave Maryland no matter how many guys they put in the box
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
Right, 3 & out three previous series. I think MD was happy playing that kind of games and sat back on their heals for the punt.
The upback waived his hand to the center to say “its on!”
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
Yeah - if not for that fake 4th conversion they were looking at a third straight 3 and out with 1 whole yard to pick up a 1st.
To that point the offense had gained 58 yards on 20 plays. With 6 on a short field to show for it.
But you are right - 1 deep pass to Nico per game is Mike Leach/Texas Tech type aggressive.

Fire HArbaugh, I've hads enuf of this bullchit.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:15 PM ^
So much wrong in your pos sentence. Rcmb is calling you.
November 2nd, 2019 at 8:11 PM ^
I choose to believe this is satire and I approve.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:11 PM ^
Thought they could have worked on the passing game more but QB play made it difficult
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:12 PM ^
Amazing how those two things seem to coincide.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
Yeah...I guess I don't understand why we aren't throwing the ball a lot more. 4 WR's that are going to get drafted. Maybe the most talented 4 WR's we have had at one time since I can remember.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:48 PM ^
You can stop calling them that after the Penn State game. 4 talented wide receivers don’t drop like 8 passes combined to ultimately lose you the game.
The receivers all clearly have deficiencies as well. That being said I do agree with the premise. We gotta throw it more. I was afraid after the ND game that we would be content running the ball 60 times a game, when that will never get you consistent offensive explosion.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
Zero hot takes. Harbaugh realizes it was going to be a win. Nothing exotic on either side. Just a win using basic offense and defense.
Now, use these last 10 quarters as a spring board to whoop on the agricultural community college.
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:42 PM ^
Agree. No need to try and score more points than PSU did. Get ahead comfortably and bring in the second team.
November 2nd, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
Agreed. It was a business-like dismantling of the Turtles. I though Locksley was working a lot harder to make up for a lack of talent.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
Special Teams A-
Defense B- : Maryland had alot of extended drives by running and beat us to the edge numerous times
Offense B- : Clunky on many drives we look good then awful I don't get it...many inaccurately thrown balls again. Is this something we try to coach or nah?
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
At this point in Shea’s career. He’s not the most accurate out there. However, I sill say the young man has the intangibles you look for in a QB. Was a goal line play today he went straight into the linebackers.
This may be the rare optimism. This team is built to upset Ohio State. The defense is hungry and young enough to not realize the BPONE. The offense is growing that the apex will happen on November 30.
The rest of this year, I will be stupidly optimistic.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
Moxie. Is this the word you're looking for!
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
Saving it for OSU
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
A- on ST giving up a TD on a kick off? I’d give them a C. Gave up one, had one. Average
November 2nd, 2019 at 6:12 PM ^
and missed chip shot FG.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
Wow what the shit was that today ? This game plan was terrible. Such a disappointment from last two games. The Gattis inside zone and spread stuff just absolutely sucks. Why did we do this ? Weird
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
Gotta practice it on somebody
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Why? Might as well just run our heads into some brick wall. No one wins with inside zone.
November 2nd, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
You realize that we won in complete blowout fashion despite pulling our starting QB and many first stringers midway through the third quarter and pretty much running vanilla O and D, right?
This was exactly what we should be doing against a team like this.
Zero complaints.
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:15 PM ^
Patterson is the worst zone read q.b. Ever.
November 3rd, 2019 at 12:35 AM ^
I choose to believe you’re just too young to remember 2008. My sweet summer child.
November 3rd, 2019 at 9:00 AM ^
Blah blah blah
38-7
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
This team is playing much better since the first quarter of the PSU game. Fake punt followed by the long bomb to Nico, players seem ready to play and executing well. Dominant conference road win.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
No real complaints on the calls. Not very aggressive but it’s Maryland so who really cares. Get ready for a big emotional game against sparty and please blow them out!
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
Probably gonna be Dantonio's last hurrah. . .it would suck if he somehow scratches out one last W against M and retires with a winning record vs Harbaugh.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Once Dantonio is gone, Scott Frost will be the B1G's best sore loser face. . .
Frost didn't even bother saying anything to Martinez after Nebraska's last futile *drive.*
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:18 PM ^
It was an expected flat performance after an exciting night game. They will have to have these guys playing with more energy at Indiana. The energy level of today's performance is probably an L at Indiana.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
I dunno, Maize-Blue, a 31 point win on the road, with Michigan in control the entire game, and the outcome not in doubt from the opening kickoff is somehow a bad thing?
Think about how the team looked the first few weeks, and how they control games now.
My hot take is that maybe the Gattis offense is starting to gel for the players.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
That's a good take. Definite progress since the fist few games of the season. I was a bit skeptical when Harbaugh said the offense was close to hitting it's stride, but that might be a good description for where the offense is now. Some cause for hope.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
It's a 31-point win with Maryland barely cracking 200 yards even with an utterly meaningless final drive netting them 51 against the backups.
It's funny - every fanbase acts like this. They assume if you don't score on every drive and you aren't executing perfectly each time the team is broken and incompetent.
November 2nd, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
I’ve given up being surprised by this. If people applied the same principles to their own jobs that they do to the football team, they’d have fired themselves years ago.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
Onward. Win the last 3 games and go into 2020 with big momentum
November 2nd, 2019 at 6:15 PM ^
Yup. For the 70th time in the last 71 years--NEXT YEAR IS THE YEAR!!!
November 2nd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
Um... I will admit to not having yet lived for 71 years, and I can personally attest to having witnessed several years when Next Year Was The Year after the Last Year That Was Also The Year.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
Gutsy call on the fake punt. Nice adjustments at the half by the defense after those two long, albeit unsuccessful, Terp drives in the first half.
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
good on partridge. i'm guessing he saw something during film study and when they showed it again, harbaugh gave him the green light. i thought it was weird when the outside guy came in motion before the snap.
November 3rd, 2019 at 12:47 AM ^
It was the same motion as the punt before. I thought it was just a good idea in general, get the motion gunner off the jam. No idea if they've been doing this all along.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
This game was like Patricia and the Lions beating the Pats last season - Gattis and Locksley played each other. The difference is UM simply has better athletes and won the game. And I thought it was going to be a close game.
With that I see UM blowing out MSU, kind of a slow game against Indiana, then OSU blowing UM the hell out
November 2nd, 2019 at 9:53 PM ^
Indy will be a tough game - M is just a different team on the road. It's plain as a shovel smacking you in the face.
We will play aOSU to the finish - no way that is a blowout.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
Anyone know where to get that hoodie that Gattis was wearing?
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
Probably only a grand on MDen
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
31 point win in a game following an emotional night game. I’ll take it. There wasn’t the same emotional investment to this game as the last couple weeks. It isn’t a bad thing to have an uneventful Saturday win.
