That's a tough choice. Neither of them seemed like good coaches just in terms of their football acumen- they both had moments in the show where they made some appallingly bad game-time decisions. (incidentally, my main wish for the show is for them to find a way for more of the actual football to be shown. I know it's not really the focus of the storyline for the filmmakers, but there are so many times in the show where we are dropped into a late game situation with not much information on the context. It would be great if they could give us, say, a separate series of episodes of game highlight film or something)

Buddy Stevens always felt very much like a jerk coach who didn't really know what he was doing in terms of football, who did the yelling while his assistants did all of the actual work to craft the team, and who hid his abusive tendencies behind a facade of piety. When I got to season 3, Jason felt like a breath of fresh air. He was still a jerk, but at least he was an honest jerk. That feeling lasted about until he started bragging about his four Cadillacs while his assistants (and their FAMILES) were living in the dorms. If anything, he came across as more abusive, not just to the players, but his staff as well. I'm not surprised he lost the job. Speaking of, are there any updates on what he's doing now?

Yup.

Buddy seemed like a jerk at times. But when you get to see more of Jason in action, for me it was CRYSTAL CLEAR that Jason was by far the worst person. Just a totally narcissistic drunk with ZERO impulse control.  He'd just be cruel for the sake of being cruel.

In comparison, Buddy was a hick who was a jerk sometimes, but basically still in the realm of normal human being.   As a player, I'd play for Buddy over Jason every day of the week & twice on Sundays.

This looks like what the show should be about, rather than the previous two circus sideshows.  Of course, it's only a trailer, so who knows...
