Really good place for him! He can take some carries off of Henry and give a similar power punch. If Willis takes over in the next year or two, their running game should be even more devastating.
Also consecutive drafts with a Michigan draft pick and the highest RB drafted out of Michigan since 2005. Hopefully we keep this streak going in the next 2 drafts with Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards (with them going even higher in the draft).
Agreed, great landing spot for Haskins. Could have a solid career as a #2 back that can run with power, pass protect, and even catch a few short passes in the flat. The hurdles are what everyone remembers, but NFL teams like a guy that hasn’t fumbled in the last three years.
some may not know that the picture you posted was during a game last november against ohio. michigan won 42-27. and as you can see, there was snow.
42-27
in the snow
with the football
killed 'em dead.
To remember the win a little better, here is a sad Ohio State GROWN ADULT with fake tattoos on his neck because a true fan has to have 5 fake tattoos on his neck otherwise what is the point of playing dress-up.
It fascinates me that the supposedly toughest-of-tough-guy interests, football, is full the same cosplay & diva display that gets scorned when theater folks or drag queens do it.
There was snow?!
Oh, no. I'm not sure if the The Ohio State team has been approved for use in snow.
not only snow, but also i forgot to mention that the ohio team had sniffles and they were all stuffed up with widdo tummy aches, too. very tough day for them
Sniffles too?! Oh, my goodness gracious. Such enormous handicaps! Did the Blue Meanies make them play anyway?!
However, I'm sure that the The Ohio State team handled the hardships with their usual grace and poise.
Vrabel watching The Game: OK, let's grab that Haskins kid.
i'd forgotten about that, but you are probably dead-on with that. seeing haskins is believing in the kid.
In the grand tradition of MGo posts like “Nik a Ca,” this post should be titled “Has a Tit.”
Titans drafting Haskins is kinda a weird fit imo. Seems like he would just get stuck behind Derrick Henry
Henry isn't immune to injury, and Haskins is a great asset on special teams.
The way Henry has been utilized by Tennessee the past 3 years, it's about 50/50 that his best football is behind him. This is a great opportunity for Haskins.
Agreed. In the 4th you are going to be a backup and hope to get worked in or get a shot due to injuries. Henry is closing on 30 with a lot of carries on him. The only other legit back on the roster is a 3rd down back in Hilliard. Haskins could have gone somewhere and been the 3rd true back (Patriots, Ravens, to name a few). Here he’ll likely be the next man up behind Henry.
4th round feels like an appropriate spot for him. The dude is a killer in every way except his 40 time. Awesome to see him go this highly
This is awesome and a great fit! I'm suddenly very intrigued by the Titans long-term with Willis, Haskins, and Burks.
Good for him, but I was dreaming of him becoming a Lion. Along with Aiden, he is the exact type of player that Detroit is trying to build it's culture with. Plus he's so underrated. He will be in the league for a long time and at a minimum will be a special team ace
He sure is. Which team drafted him tho?
One of my favorite players ever now plays for my team, hell yea!!
Great pick for both player and team! Hassan Haskins will be a valuable pro, as a running back, special teams player and locker room leader. Sam Webb has stated this repeatedly and Haskins’ performance last year after Corum’s injury showed off Hassan’s durability and endurance.
Will be a very solid NFL back. Good for him! Continued success young man!
Congratulations and good luck Hassan Haskins, aka Superman. Thanks for your amazing effort, play, and many great memories. Wishing HH every continued success. Go Blue forever !
Henry is sneaky bad in short yardage because of his height and being slow to start. I think Haskins has a day 1 role and maybe a shot at carrying the load in a year or 2. I dislike the Titans and still was super pumped for Hassan getting the call.
Interesting take. I always see him as a very fast 255 pound hammer, and greatly respect his ability. But maybe you have some insight into that, and I could see it being true given, as you say, his height.
I love this -- it's a total fit.
Imagine trying to tackle Henry over and over. Then he goes out for a blow and a fresh Hasan comes trotting in.
