Harbaugh: Two players have left
Harbaugh said today Michigan is under its 85 scholarship limit. Asked if anyone has left. He said two have but ‘I’ll let them announce that if they want to.’

Harbaugh says he hasn’t named an OC yet. Hasn’t decided if he will or won’t. Staff will go through more self scout this week and next.

If he transfers now, the coach/playbook could change in a year from now and he could find himself in a system that doesn't fit his skill set. He could end up another Steven Threet. If he waits until he graduates before transferring, he can select a much more favorable situation and he will have a U-M degree to fall back on.
as opposed to finishing his degree at Michigan.
does he lose a year if he transfers?
You get 5 years to play up to 4 years. He wastes one of those 4 if he transfers after redshirting.
I get what you're saying. But man, that seems tough on the players who transfer.
So if the coaches really are as high on Dylan McCaffrey, as some have been saying, Brandon Peters should go now, regardless of losing a year or not.
I downvoted myself. But I'm blaming Chris Weinke.
is the exact player I was thinking of too.
get 6 years to play 4, you get 5
Unless you're Ed Davis. But yes your point holds.
the sitting out transfer year counts toward the 5?
so as another commentor said, he can graduate early, and not have to sit out a year?
Champ Kind as Satan adds a mindblowing new dimension to that film. It explains so much!
Why would he leave already before a starter has even been named? That would mean the writing is already on the wall that not only is he behind Shea, but he's also behind DM &/or Milton. Because even if he was #2 he would have 2 years to start.
Personally I hope not as I still have hopes for him. At the very least he'll be a capable backup and if recent events have proven anything it's that we need at least 2 good QBs to get through a season.
Announcements should come fairly soon.
Unless it's a defensive player, I don't see anything being apocalyptic.
The defense is borderline elite. The offense is a bunch of what MIGHT bes right now.
The defense is elite, far from the border.
to be the unequivocal #1 defense, being clearly the best, leaving no debate between them and Alabama. That's the border I think they are on this year, with all their experience.
Does have a tougher schedule than Alabama.
But hey, Michigan gets some defensers drafted too.
We can also match Alabama's depth; we've got blue-chippers stepping in to replace high draft picks and more blue-chippers behind them.
Ruiz and Bredeson leaving would qualify in my mind.
Neither is anyone on D whose departure would be apocalyptic.
The others make sense.
Defense looks set.
I just want to chime in my thanks for the information you provide. And I want to emphasize that when some stupid ass MF gets on your case (because things changed, info wasn't perfect, they didn't understand what you were saying, etc.) that they are indeed a stupid ass MF. Thanks, as always, for your info.
From umbig11's casual tone, it doesn't seem like any transfers will hurt. They're not starters and won't start. Which is why they're transferring. Doesn't seem like a repeat of Devin Asiasi.
I can see an OL leaving. One in particular who started, was benched, and hasn't been mentioned by any coach since.
for one of OSU's 5-star recruits?
At least we know it wasn't Vic Viramontes!
