Harbaugh: Two players have left

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Harbaugh said today Michigan is under its 85 scholarship limit. Asked if anyone has left. He said two have but ‘I’ll let them announce that if they want to.’

Harbaugh says he hasn’t named an OC yet. Hasn’t decided if he will or won’t. Staff will go through more self scout this week and next.

If he transfers now, the coach/playbook could change in a year from now and he could find himself in a system that doesn't fit his skill set.  He could end up another Steven Threet.  If he waits until he graduates before transferring, he can select a much more favorable situation and he will have a U-M degree to fall back on.

It’s supposed to be. The point of the rule is to deter players from transferring and CFB becoming a free agency every year. It’s meant to punish players who do wish to transfer.

He still loses a year. He has to sit out a year when he transfers, assuming he hasn’t graduated already. He either sits as a backup here, or he sits out a year as a transfer. Why is that hard to understand

Yes, that’s why most wait until after they graduate so they don’t have to sit. Really not a lot of benefit if you’ve already used your redshirt and will graduate early. Just wait until you can transfer and play immediately.

Why would he leave already before a starter has even been named?  That would mean the writing is already on the wall that not only is he behind Shea, but he's also behind DM &/or Milton.  Because even if he was #2 he would have 2 years to start.

Personally I hope not as I still have hopes for him.  At the very least he'll be a capable backup and if recent events have proven anything it's that we need at least 2 good QBs to get through a season.

I don't know if we could possibly get separation from the likes of Alabama this year. I know and appreciate and love all of the talent we have at every position on D, and we have a great, one of the best defensive minds in the country coaching them. But bama has a shitload of draft picks throughout their defense too. They have amazing coaches too. If it ends up with us separated as the undisputed #1 defense in the nation by the end of the season, fucking awesome. I just think we are finally seeing what elite college football defenses look like and assuming we are the only team with one.

Kind of agree. The transfers that would really be gut-punches to me would almost all be on defense. There are a few offensive names I don't want to hear but mostly they are one of several bullets in their respective chambers that I hope might be part of the solution, rather than guys I expect to see greatness from this season.

I just want to chime in my thanks for the information you provide.  And I want to emphasize that when some stupid ass MF gets on your case (because things changed, info wasn't perfect, they didn't understand what you were saying, etc.) that they are indeed a stupid ass MF.  Thanks, as always, for your info.
