Harbaugh at State of the Union update

Submitted by Blue_sophie on
According to politico, house majority leader Kevin McCarthy shouted "coach!" at Jim Harbaugh, who was confusingly seated in the "ladies box." According to the article "he wanted Harbaugh to turn his attention to McCarthy’s college-aged son. Harbaugh... obliged." Yup, that is our football coach, representing the University of Michigan at the seat of power for our nation (and also maybe expanding the pipeline from California to Ann Arbor). The article doesn't really elaborate much beyond the quote above, but it does mention that Harbaugh was also spotted signing other guests' tickets (to the State of the Union, I mean SERIOUSLY). http://www.politico.com/story/2016/01/congress-state-of-the-union-2016-…

Coach autographed a pic of him playing QB vs nd from 1986 and signed it 'from one Michigan Man to Another'

Obama never autographed shit for me.  Neither did Dubya or his daddy.  Or Clinton.

Which is why I would vote HARBAUGH in a heartbeat if he were ever to run.

I'd rather be Michigan's football coach than President of the United States (if I were qualified for either.)   Presidents age a lot after just a year or two in office.   Though I suppose if you have a weak constitution like Urban Meyer being a Div 1 head football coach can have health effects as well....

I'd rather be President than OSUs football coach because I couldn't take the moral compromises of the latter.

There is a strong "no politics" rule on this site. Why post this? To start a flame war on a slow morning? Regardless of your views on the issues facing the world, there is absolutely no need to come here to post this, as there are countless non-sports blogs that would love to engage in this discussion.

I know we usually forbid politics on this blog, but I'm willing to make an exception for such an  insightful comment. I have a feeling a lot of Obama supporters reading this thread are starting to rethink their position.

I really don't care whether the above was directed to Obama or Dubya or George Washington himself. I do care about taking a fun Harbaugh thread and devolving it into pointless political banter for no reason at all other than so everyone could be blessed with your political opinions. -1 to both of you.
