I so hope that this is true.
Harbaugh + The Boss = Harboss

My cousin is there and posted this on Facebook
Because of course he is.

This is like the reverse of yesterday.
Now he's appearing at someone's concert that no one people my age or younger know. I've heard of this guy, but I haven't heard his music.
That's like never hearing of "Thriller" or "Hard Days Night".
I've probably heard some of it but I just don't even think of who it's by.
Those are two of the most popular songs in music history by two of the greatest musical acts in music history. It astounds that you don't know who created those songs.
That's akin to not knowing who the first president of the USA was.
Are you talking about Michael Jackson's song Thriller? I've heard that a million times.
Do you know who sang "Hard Day's Night"?
No.
What role did this guy have in Thriller? Did he write it? Produce it? I don't know. He sure as hell didn't sing it.
He was comparing the song to those two. Hard Day's Night is by the Beatles.
And very old Beatles at that. They probably weren't even doing many drugs when they recorded it.
I bet they were on the ole Reefer at this time.
If I'm not mistaken this is around the time they told the story of smoking some weed right before they had to meet the Queen.

They were pounding speed up there in Hamburg in '60. Their music was drug-fueled from the git-go.
April 15th, 2016 at 11:40 AM ^
the most famous of drug related songs would be Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. The letters in Caps. LSD would suggest that they may have dabbled with other drugs beside weed.
Why the act? It's so transparent.

What act? There are people in this thread that actually know me that are saying that I'm out of touch with pop culture.
You're like the kitten who thinks that when it can't see you it must be hidden, but without the requisite cuteness.

Yeah! Shame on you WD! *Googles "Hard Day's Night"*
None of the guys under age 25 that I work with know much about any kind of music that we used to listen to in the seventies and eighties. Really why should they? This is their time.
My kids in the car after a song played on the radio: "Dad, who's Madonna?"
For real. They only know what they know.
Did you respond with "the Miley Cyrus of the 80s"? Because you should have
Madonna, went to the University of Michigan. She started out lower midddle class and earned everything she ever got. Miley went to the "Univeristy of Daddy's Connections." Madonna had a lot of input into her choreography. Miley is "plug and play."
Please don't equate the two.
My kids are 7 and 9 and they sure as hell know who the Beatles are and routinely request some of their songs off of my Ipod. Shame on the parents who don't introduce musical legends to their kids.
My son is 22 and owns all 13 Beatles studio albums on CD and vinyl. Good music is timeless.
WD, if you haven't heard born in the USA you have some serious soul searching not to do.

Searching to do*

the mickey.
To be fair, it seems like very few people put in the effort to decipher the Boss's lyrics, even in relatively well-enunciated songs like Born in the USA. I, like many casual listeners apparently, assumed from the title that it expressed some kind of patriotic sentiment, until I actually listened to the verses.
You can listen to Bruce but you can't hear him

I belive that song is very patriotic. It is not, however, jingoistic.

if they knew who Bruce Springsteen is. It's a yes from the 15 and 13 year old. The 10 year old thought I said "Sam Bernstein". It was a yes on Bernstein, no on Springsteen from him.
IMHO, you should know Springsteen.
edit: just drove kids to school- he has his own XM channel!! E street radio.

Springsteen was rockin down the House back in Harbaugh's school days at Michigan, but he's been around even longer. Not recognizing Springsteen's name, music or why Harbaugh might have an interest based on his own Michigan experience, means you have missed the boat on on a HOF icon who still puts on marathon concerts for his loyal audience.
How about the Piano Man, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison, heard of them and their music?
There is no way this is true.
Nor can you say young people don't know Springsteen. There's a world out there outside hip-hop, and many, many youngsters indeed are tapped into it.
24 years old and I know of the boss.

Canadians love The Boss. I just saw Bruce in Seattle a couple weeks ago and was stunned how many Canadians were at Key Arena.

i recently moved to seattle...must have missed him!

In Nova Scotia, we finally got 80s music in 2002
21, didn't know who Migos was until I looked him up a few weeks ago and went "Ohhh it's the dab guy."
It's 3 dab guys
April 14th, 2016 at 10:00 PM ^
I still don't know who Migos is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
April 14th, 2016 at 10:22 PM ^
I thought Migos was the Greek guy who runs a restaurant downtown.
Springsteen is a legend and has many monster hits to his name. There's no way you haven't heard ANY of his songs.
Rory Gallagher is either. Of course, to not know Springsteen is to not know The Big Man, which is so laughable as to defy description.
April 15th, 2016 at 12:18 AM ^
Well, he has probably heard some of his song but never bothered to find out who the artist was. I, for example, don't really know who Bruce Springstein is. I've heard his name many times and probably heard some of his song but I wouldn't be able to match them to him or him to them. If our parents didn't listen to him, we most likely wouldn't either. I mean, you people are alive right now and didn't know what Migos was but we're supposed to know about a musician who was popular before we were alive?
Lies.
