Happy 10 Year Anniversary MGoSeniors

Submitted by the Glove on

It was 10 years ago on June 30th that the blogspot era ended and the current Mgoblog.com began. Over the next few weeks, many of our MGoReaders will be celebrating 10 years following this glorious site. If you're also over the 10 plus years mark and were a MGoReader during the blogspot era, I give you a special tip of the cap as well. I'd like to thank Brian, Seth, and all the MGoContributors for the great work that they have done and are doing. We might not all love each other, but they have created a community where we all have one central theme, our love of the University of Michigan and its athletics.  Here's to another 10 years of following Mgoblog. I'm now going to go back to lurking on all of your comments and posts. I leave you with one of the most important things that I have been symbolically given by this blog, which is my 2008 Fandom Endurance Merit Badge.

I was a lurker since 2005 (Haloscan era), and joined as a posting member for the post-Lloyd coaching search in 2007.

Then we got Rich Rod.  It's Peanut Butter Jelly time!

Little did we know.

Throughout all of its incarnations - Haloscan, Drupal 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 - this blog has never seen Michigan win a Big Ten football championship.

it's time to change that.

I forget what led me to the site; I remember being a lurker of sorta during the Haloscan days, then fell away and then came back here...somehow.  I definitely lurked for a bit before signing up.

It's been a long time around here, and credit to the site for moving along without any real interruptions.

I heard about this place my freshman year in 2008. Lurked for a very long time.

Also, the class of 2012 is in the running for saddest sports class of all time.

I feel like I've been here forever, and before, but I don't remember what brought me here.  Which is OK, because it's not the years, it's the mileage.

Haloscanner here. I remember being on the blog the day Bo died. So sometime before that. I lurked after the move for a while before I registered.

Woo! I wish it still said the date you joined, but still love seeing 10 years on the profile page.

Think I signed up the first day it was an option.

Ah, the haloscan days - where's the Wolverine Liberation Army?

2008 season is what brought me here lol. I was trying to comprehend wth was going on with the football team when I found mgoblog in 08..lurked for about a year before I made an account to post.

I'm as old as the (Haloscan) Matrix itsellf. Wisc. game of 06 got me to the site. Arguements about ND "requiring" calculus for all players vs UMs "easy" BS "major" hooked me.

I began lurking during the Rich Rod years, and am pretty sure it was the Trey game vs. Kansas that got me to sign up and make my first post.

I'm still pretty much a lurker, but thinking back I had to have started lurking right sometime during my fall semester in '08. Never realized the site had just come from blogspot.

Logged in for the first time in almost a decade for this post. Started reading the blog leading up to Football Armageddon. Feel like I came across the blog after being referenced by a Detroit News article, but not sure. Been mostly a lurker ever since. Looks like I signed up in 2009, posted twice...and that's about it!

It’s weird what I do and don’t remember. I’m pretty sure I started reading my freshman year in 2005 (I must have heard about it from another student), but for sure I was reading in 2006. I don’t have much memory of the board, and honestly I don’t remember what haloscan was (back then I was most interested in UVs and game previews and recaps), although I do remember some specific things, like WLA, so I must have been reading the board back then too.

The craziest thing is that I’ll be hitting my 10 year anniversary in a few weeks, but for a number of years I lurked without even realizing I had an account. I had to go back through my emails to check the dates, but the gist of it is apparently I created an account in July 2008, and then promptly forgot about it and continued to lurk. I didn’t realize I already had an until I tried to sign up over three years later and got an account-already-registered error. I didn’t even get to 100 points until the end of 2013, and it wasn’t until 2014 that I was posting on even a weeklyish basis. Crazy to look back.
